Weekly Forecast: 5/15/15 through 5/21/15
Friday, May 15th - Emotions could likely be quite volatile today, particularly for Sagittarius, Gemini, Aries and Capricorn. These signs will be caught in a tug of war between planets for the better part of the day. The Aries moon is active as it forms a benevolent trine to Jupiter this morning, and then later moves into square with Pluto and conjunction with Uranus. Others could behave in surprising ways. This is only exacerbated by the Mars/Saturn opposition early this morning. The effect is quite like a flood gate. Anything that has been bottled up will come rushing out, and you are apt to see one of two reactions... Some will handle this by distancing themselves, and others will let everything that's been brewing beneath come bubbling to the surface. The interesting part is that all of this is happening before 8am EST. Dreams could be quite revealing in the morning hours. While the moon is void of course beginning at 8:04am and lasting all throughout the day, you will see a bit of a spillover of the morning's intense emotional rush. This emotion is fire-oriented, and so action will be a big part of the day. If you find yourself affected, try not to make any rash decisions or act on a whim of passion. Do your best to pace yourself, breathe easy, and stay grounded. While things may seem quite dire today, they may appear differently tomorrow.
Saturday, May 16th - The moon comes out of its void at 3:03am and moves into the sign of Taurus. Venusian themes rule the day. Partnership is to be sought out, in the company of friends, lovers, family members or creative co-pilots. With Venus trining Neptune and squaring the North Node, you may be compelled to create in the company of others, or to work towards a common goal with someone you care about. The rest of the day sees the moon shifting into sextile with Neptune and Venus. This energy is daydream oriented but also takes root in sensuality and grounded Taurus ideals. It is a perfect day for artists, musicians, writers, designers and all those who practice creative trades to focus on their work. Try approaching problems or issues with another set of eyes. Working together will be quite a lot easier than going it on your own today. Since the moon is in Taurus and Venus is so active, it is advisable to garden and spend time outdoors if at all possible. Fertility is a theme for this Saturday. This can mean a number of different things. Nurture and grow the ideas that mean the most to you.
Sunday, May 17th - Taurus themes from yesterday continue as we approach the new moon late tonight. This day is best served for cleaning out what no longer fits. While sometimes new moons are useful for doing mental and emotional work alone, the astrology for the day suggests that it might be more fruitful to focus on physical tasks. Clean your house, donate items you no longer need, redecorate to allow energy to flow in your home, weed your garden, etc. The Taurus moon squares Jupiter, trines Pluto and meets Chiron in sextile this morning and afternoon. Focus and intent is at an all-time high today. Give your attention to whatever you are working on in its entirety. The new moon hits at 11:13pm EST. A Taurus new moon is powerful and fertile. Cultivate what you want and work towards clearing the way for it. A little effort will go a long way today. If you are active and try a little to make room for the new, you will begin to see results in the next week. What house of yours is the transiting new moon occurring in? This could show you the physical results that may be coming your way.
Monday, May 18th - This morning the moon moves void of course for several hours, from 12:14am until 5:28am EST. If you are asleep during this time frame, dreams may be slightly confusing and off-putting. If you are awake you may not notice too much of a difference, but effects from the new moon will still be felt at this point. You might want to spend time cleaning out your things, or feel compelled to make a life change. The moon enters Gemini at 5:28am and begins a busy day in the cosmos. Later on tonight Mercury will move retrograde, so it is helpful to have the moon in Mercury-ruled Gemini today. Communication will be boosted, and it will be easy to stay busy and productive, particularly once afternoon hits. In the morning Moon opposition Saturn might get things off to a slow start, and emotions could get in the way of accomplishments. Some might experience this as trying to get details taken care of but nothing seems to line up or make sense. Once noon hits, the moon will move into conjunction with Mars and activity will increase. Tonight the Gemini moon will trine the North Node and square Neptune. It might be difficult to sit still. Thoughts will be moving a mile a minute and there will be a lot of impetus to get things done. You should take advantage of this. Mercury moves retrograde tonight at 9:50pm EST. This retrograde will last until June 11th, and will see Mercury moving from 13 degrees Gemini back to 4 degrees Gemini. It will most heavily affect those with natal planets in Gemini, Virgo, Libra, Capricorn, Aquarius and Taurus at 4-13 degrees of those signs. Having a retrograde in Gemini will actually help quite a bit with communication snafus that may crop up during this three week period. The real annoyance may be delays or technological mishaps. We will examine specific dates that this might be a problem as the retrograde period continues.
Tuesday, May 19th - The moon moves into conjunction with Rx Mercury early this morning. Early in the day is a good time to share with others or reach out in terms of business or creative arrangements. As the day wears on the moon will sextile both Jupiter and Uranus. This is an ideal day for thinking big and coming up with new ideas. This could be done through collaboration with others or by traveling, going somewhere new locally or getting inspired by something outside of your comfort zone. The moon will move void of course at 1:58pm, where it will stay until tomorrow morning. Now is a time for gathering information and coming up with a plan to get you started. Action may have to wait a day or two, and big decisions should be put off if at all possible. Void of course moons are typically bad times for making changes, signing new agreements, etc., and with the Mercury retrograde this advice will go tenfold. Mercury retrograde has the tendency to make things appear differently, and the void of course moon will shield them from the light of reality even more. It may be more of a challenge during the next few weeks to undo mistakes made in communication, technology or decision making than it would be normally.
Wednesday, May 20th - The moon comes out of its void this morning at 9:56am EST and moves into the sign of Cancer. Today is very quiet on the astrological front, as this is the only major aspect occurring all day. It's nice to have a break from outside influences, especially as we now have three planets in retrograde and adding new transits to the mix can be particularly wearing. The Cancer moon could bring about feelings of wanting to reconnect with family or friends from your past, or perhaps just the need to stay home today or tonight. Nostalgia is a big theme of this triple retrograde period and the Cancer moon always exacerbates the urge to understand the past. Over the next few weeks, consider why you may be running into people from long ago or why sudden recollections of seemingly lost memories are occurring. What are these encounters trying to tell you? What can you learn from them, and what can be healed so that you can move forward boldly? Be aware of this, particularly over the next two days.
Thursday, May 21st - Early this morning the moon squares the North Node and trines Neptune. What a day for a daydream! You may be lost in dream world at the start of the day, unable to focus or get grounded. This is exaggerated further by later transits, as the moon conjuncts Venus, opposes Pluto and squares Uranus. Not only will some be quite content to let their minds wander, they may resent intrusion or directions that would get them to return to the present. Moods could be a bit unstable. If you are less affected by the watery energy and find yourself dealing with someone who is spacey, it may be best to work by yourself. It could create unnecessary conflict to try to make your point heard. The sun moves into Gemini at 4:44am EST. This is good news for the Mercury retrograde. Having the sun join Mercury in Gemini will help enhance communication, writing and scholarly pursuits. It will keep our brains active despite any annoyances that may present over the next few weeks. Tonight the moon moves void of course at 8:37pm EST. I remind you that during the retrograde period, it is important to take the void of course periods quite seriously and to not make any impulsive decisions or that you may want to back out of later. It will be a challenge to do so. Wait until tomorrow, or make use of the time before 8:37pm today to do so.
