Weekly Forecast: 3/18/16 through 3/24/16
Friday, March 18th - The moon shifts void of course for a short while this morning, from 12:09am until 3:54am EST when it enters Leo. Today is quiet astrologically, with only one major transit happening -- Moon trine Mars at noon. Energy is higher than normal today, and it may be easier to be physically active. Leo energy provides a certain degree of sociability, so tonight will be excellent for going out on the town or spending time around others. There are no real issues arising today, which will allow us to focus on ourselves and our truths a little easier. Get clear about your feelings and take action if needed.
Saturday, March 19th - We have another pretty slow day in the cosmos, which is good because we are gearing up for a shift into the new astrological year tomorrow, along with the spring equinox. Today is going to be the ideal day to shed the last of what no longer serves you. Clean out your closet and any items in your home that you no longer need. Take stock of changes that have occurred in your life this year, and take strides toward removing influences that are not working for you anymore.
The moon trines Saturn and Uranus today, bringing in a sense of duty and responsibility. Saturn and Uranus give the day a bit of topsy-turvy energy, meaning things may not go according to plan. Saturn will provide an ability to handle whatever surprises may arise, and the trine energy ensures that many of the surprises will be pleasant.
The moon is void of course from 4:43pm EST until tomorrow afternoon.
Sunday, March 20th - Happy spring equinox! Today marks the start of the new astrological year as the Sun shifts into Aries at 12:29am EST. This is a perfect time to take action or begin something new. Aries allows us to cultivate an independent spirit and head forward like pioneers. This is the best time of year to make major changes, or begin working toward something that typically seems impossible. Springtime energy will renew us and provide us with inspiration as we head forward into the year ahead.
The moon is void of course until 1:39pm EST, when it enters Virgo. This is a day best spent alone or in quiet company. Aries is centered around personal action and the Virgo moon provides us with a more hermetic attitude.
Venus and Neptune are conjunct today at 1:44pm EST, but this transit's effect will be apparent all day. This brings in a huge burst of creativity, allowing even the most blocked thinkers to revel in fantastical ideas. Compassion and love are huge themes over the coming few days, reminding us to consider those we care about more, and helping us to extend our aura of compassion to those all around the world.
The moon squares Mars tonight, which suggests that dealing with too many people could cause some upsets. It is truly a day and evening best spent in quiet meditation or in the company of those who calm and soothe you.
Monday, March 21st - The day begins with the moon opposing the Venus/Neptune conjunction this morning. This is a definite case of head vs heart. You may find that the more logic-based side of your brain is fighting with the abstract, feeling side. Luckily, this should only last for several hours. The energy of the conjunction is quite powerful and creativity inducing, so it will be important to make use of it while it's available to us.
Mercury enters Aries this evening at 8:18pm EST. We are gradually exiting the planning stage and moving toward taking action. Aries energy brings along fast-moving changes. Communication that has been stagnant or slow for the past several weeks will begin to pick up. Even if things are delayed further, there will at least be a more open line of discussion going on. People will be a lot more blunt over the following weeks, and impatience could arise for some.
Tonight, the moon conjuncts Jupiter, trines Pluto and squares Saturn before moving void of course at 11:54pm EST. This is a light-hearted evening that brings in excitement and a thirst for knowledge and adventure. Any tasks on your to-do list may fall by the wayside. It could be hard to stay on topic, but most everyone will have a good time. Pluto's influence allows us to get the information we need, even if it is in a roundabout sort of way.
Tuesday, March 22nd - The moon makes a couple minor aspects this morning, conjuncting the North Node and opposing Chiron at around 8am. The reason behind something puzzling could be revealed today, particularly those things relating to work or health. Consider getting a massage, visiting a chiropractor or just doing some stretches. These transits could create some tension or possible shoulder/neck pain, so any way you can work that out will be helpful.
The moon is void all day today, one of the longest void periods we've had in some time. It is advisable to not make major decisions today, including legal, career or romantic choices that could drastically impact your future. Tomorrow is the full moon and lunar eclipse, and it will be easier to see things with clarity after that event has transpired.
Wednesday, March 23rd - We exit the void period at 1:23am EST as the moon enters Libra. The Aries/Libra full moon today will follow themes of independence vs cooperation. It will be very important to find balance above all else, as Libra requires we give a bit of attention to all sides of our lives. This full moon is also a lunar eclipse, and the second eclipse in the past month. There are some Vedic astrologers that believe eclipses are given too much weight in Western astrology, and that there are constantly "eclipses" occurring in the form of things we cannot see from our vantage point. Whatever the actuality of the situation, eclipses tend to release a lot of energy since so many people are intrigued by them. When so many individuals put forth attention and energy on a subject, it tends to make it even more powerful.
The moon opposes Mercury as Jupiter and Saturn meet in square this morning. This is an interesting day with a lot of immense changes and shifts coming through. The Jupiter/Saturn square has been building over the past few weeks and will continue to be felt through the rest of March and first half of April. Jupiter and Saturn have very conflicting energy. Jupiter is expansive while Saturn is restrictive. Jupiter wants to learn, travel and see the big picture, while Saturn wants to do the work necessary and focus on the details. The archetypes associated with these planets are the "fun uncle" and the "strict grandfather". I'm sure you can tell which is which! When these two planets meet in square, they come head to head and cannot seem to agree on anything. This will manifest as situations and feelings where we cannot seem to let go and have fun until we've taken care of something important. On the converse, if we focus too much on our work we are forced to expand our vision wider. It creates a lot of self-doubt, impatience and unrest. The way out of this is again, through the teachings of today's Libra moon: BALANCE! This is the key word for much of this lunar cycle, and will take us into the next. If we give our hopes, dreams and future plans as much energy as we do the loose ends and old work we're finishing up now, then we can be the most successful in the coming year. Lopsided planning will not work in our favor.
The Full Moon/Lunar Eclipse occurs at precisely 7:47am EST but will be building up for the two hours before that and receding the two hours after. Check online to see if it will be visible near you. This full moon is the closing of the eclipse cycle that begun during the New Moon two weeks ago. The results of this will be people. By this I mean that new people will begin to show up in your life this week, or else those you already know will begin to take on new roles (or simply move to the background). Even if you are working on your own, others will line up to help or assist in new ways. You may find your friend groups shifting quite a lot over the next week or two.
The moon sextiles Mars this afternoon, and the Sun moves into conjunction with Mercury at 4:10pm EST. Physical energy increases, and conversations prove very helpful. The direct approach is best today, particularly if there is something you need from another person. It will be challenging for many to pick up on subtle cues today, so just say what you need in a plain and obvious way.
Thursday, March 24th - Chiron and the North Node are in exact opposition today. It is important to take care of yourself and your health. Rest up, eat healthy and listen to what your body needs. The influx of Aries energy can make it feel like relaxing or resting will make us miss out on something, but this can overtax us and actually push us further behind. Everyone's needs are unique, so listen to what YOU need rather than what someone else believes to be healthy or correct.
The moon is active today, sextiling Saturn, squaring Pluto and opposing Uranus before moving void of course at 4:55pm EST. Tension is a bit high today and arguments could break out for some. Many will feel taken advantage of or like their needs are being ignored. The evening will bring a slightly more peaceful series of events.
Mercury and Mars are in trine at 6:43pm EST, which can allow us to discuss our feelings in a direct way without getting too overemotional. If you've had problems with anyone today or earlier this week, tonight is a good time to deal with this head on. Communication in general is at a high point after 5pm EST today.
