Weekly Forecast: 1/10/22 through 1/16/22

Monday, January 10th ~ Today we begin with the Aries moon squaring Pluto at 2:23am EST, and then moving void of course. The day begins with an intensity of purpose. We could feel there is an obstacle to be overcome, or else we move with the desire of a warrior at the frontlines of battle. The void period ends at 9:46am EST as the moon enters Taurus. Things become more gentle, but still guided with a sense of honor and direction. The moon sextiles Jupiter at 2:47pm EST, providing emotional expansion and the ability to look at a problem with humor and loving awareness. The Sun and Neptune meet in sextile at 10:27pm EST, but we feel this aspect all day and into the night. This activates the imagination and allows for fantasy to guide us. Instead of being delusional or distracting, it instead gives us necessary inspiration and colors a previously dull situation with hues of rainbow light. Asteroid Psyche stations retrograde today in the sign of Virgo; Psyche is considered a counterpart to Venus in some ways, as it rules over the mental processes and how they are impacted by love. If Psyche and Venus were sisters, Psyche would be the more cerebral while Venus the more sensual. In retrograde (which lasts through April 25th), Psyche calls on us to consider the beginnings of relationships, be they romantic or close friendships or business partnerships. While this is certainly intense during a Venus Rx, it can be very helpful in allowing us to get back to our roots and remember what drew us to someone in the first place. New beginnings can take place under these skies.

Tuesday, January 11th ~ The moon is in earthy Taurus all day, a fertile place for emotions to germinate. The moon squares Mercury at 4:37am and moves into conjunction with Uranus at 7:21am EST. These transits can make for stubborn feelings; we may not appreciate being told what to do or pulled out of our comfort zone. The moon squares Saturn at 11:53am EST, which decreases our work ethic for a couple hours and makes us want to retreat to somewhere we feel safe. Mars squares Neptune at 4:43pm EST, though we feel this throughout the day and into tomorrow. This aspect slows down outward momentum and makes us prefer to spend time in our imagination. In some ways we seek out the flow that things had in childhood today, wanting less responsibility and more room to get lost in possibility. The moon trines Venus tonight at 7:33pm EST to close out the day's aspects. This is a harmonious transit that allows for greater love, compassion, and sharing. We look for the close companionship of another.

Wednesday, January 12th ~ The Taurus moon sextiles Neptune at 3:38am and trines the Sun at 6:19am EST, officially entering its Waxing Gibbous phase. Positivity abounds under these aspects; we could feel excited but maybe not for any specific reason. The moon trines Pluto at 2:38pm EST before moving void of course for over seven hours. This trine gives us focus and allows for slow, dutiful completion of a project. Don't expect to move at a speedy pace today, especially during the void. A task that normally takes an hour might double or triple in its duration. The void period ends at 10:08pm EST as the moon ingresses Gemini. We then have the moon moving into conjunction with its North Node, the furthest point of its orbit. This brings in new ideas. Be prepared for insights to show up overnight, maybe even in dreams. Asteroid Vesta enters Capricorn today, a stable place for the ruler of hearth and home. Precision and detail-focused work can now be accomplished in the home environment (good news for those who work from home). You may be drawn to organize and clean up your house if it is not in order already. Vesta will be here in Capricorn until March 10th.

Thursday, January 13th ~ The moon is in sparkly Gemini all day, giving us a mental boost of curiosity and thirst for knowledge. The moon squares Jupiter at 4:24am EST, which makes for a restless brain. It can be challenging to quiet the mind, but this intensity can allow for more passion and enthusiasm in studying or soaking up information. You may need to take frequent breaks or multitask for optimal results. The moon sextiles Chiron at 3:55pm and trines Mercury a little later at 7:09pm EST. We seek out others to be a sounding board; ideas fly back and forth. I am reminded a bit of a mental salon, where intellectuals discuss philosophy. Super emotional discussions might need to be shelved, as this energy is more theoretical and abstract in its expression. Today is the last day before Mercury moves retrograde tomorrow morning. As this retrograde takes place in Aquarius, ruler of technology, it is a good idea to back up files tonight or take care of any outstanding technological issues if at all possible.

Friday, January 14th ~ Moon in Gemini all day, Moon trine Saturn 1:25am, Mercury retrograde 6:41am, Moon square Neptune 4:50pm, Moon opposite Mars 9:21pm, Moon void 9:22pm, Ceres retrograde ends. The moon is in Gemini all day, beginning by trining Saturn at 1:25am EST. We seek out opportunities to share knowledge with others through teaching, tutoring, or sharing our passions with another. Mercury stations retrograde this morning at 6:41am EST at 10 degrees Aquarius. This retrograde lasts until February 3rd, and sees Mercury traveling back to 24 degrees Capricorn. The Aquarian portion of the retrograde (now through January 25th) deals with technology and the spread of information in larger groups, while the Capricorn portion of the retrograde (lasting from January 25th until the end on February 3rd) deals with work and school politics. For the next two weeks, we may wish to double check technology; mishaps regarding unsent messages or messages sent to the wrong person or group are likelier during this period. The moon squares Neptune at 4:50pm and opposes Mars at 9:21pm EST today. We find ourselves wanting clear answers from others and could be irritated by vagueness and delays. The moon moves void of course at 9:22pm EST for over thirteen hours. Dreams are awash in archetypal symbolism. It is one night where using a dream dictionary could be especially useful! Finally, asteroid Ceres stations direct at 27 degrees Taurus. The asteroid ruling over the plant and animal kingdoms now challenges us to charge forward to be of service to the environment.

Saturday, January 15th ~ Today is a very simple day astrologically, which may come as a welcome blessing after quite an active week. The moon is void of course until 11:10am EST when it ingresses Cancer. The moon is at home in the sign it rules over, and emotions flow with ease as a result. The only major aspect comes at 6:30pm EST when the moon trines Jupiter. This allows for great compassion and love to enter into our hearts. This is a positive experience which creates opportunities for expansion in relationships. We may feel compelled to share or give gifts to others, including to charity.

Sunday, January 16th ~ The moon is in its domicile of Cancer all day today, beginning by squaring Chiron at 4:53am and then sextiling Uranus at 8:58am EST. These transits may make us feel somewhat adverse to change and yet we crave it all the same. You could find yourself taking an impulsive action, then immediately regretting it, or maybe oscillating through opposite emotions internally. The Sun conjuncts Pluto at 9:50am EST, a transit we will feel all throughout the day and night. This allows for clear purpose to come through, and major transformation to shake up ego structures. While this could be slightly uncomfortable, the work of this transit brings us closer to who we really are. You may notice some people fighting this process today; be gentle and patient. Surrendering past versions of self can be very triggering for most people. The moon opposes Venus at 3:50pm EST, suggesting much of this work is a solo trip. While others can serve as a sounding board, they cannot do the transition for us. Meditating or doing something just for yourself this afternoon is a good idea, as it offers clarity and space for great change to take form.
