Monday, October 17th ~ The moon is in its domicile of Cancer all day, providing us with a strong emotional basis to tackle problems from an intuitive center. The moon sextiles Uranus at 12:08am and squares Venus at 10:14am EST. We look for creative solutions and could find it easier to work on our own without the interference of others. The moon goes on to trine Neptune at 11:04am and enter its Last Quarter phase at 1:15pm EST. The Last Quarter is a time of reflection; we may feel a strong urge to purge things from our environment and to do a deep cleansing of both our home and our energy field. Neptune's influence provides the ability to imagine and experience a deeper level of compassion and understanding as we move through our day. The moon continues its busy day at 4:56pm EST as it opposes Pluto, and then it moves void of course until tomorrow morning. Stubbornness is likely, and we will resent being told what to do under this influence. The void period provides a mental break and chance to reset and escape from stagnancy. Tonight the Sun trines Mars at 6:05pm EST, a highly energetic transit that increases physical stamina and gets us excited and ready to take action. We might feel like moving our bodies and will need to burn off excess energy. This transit also powers up the libido and lower chakra system.
Tuesday, October 18th ~ The moon's void period ends at 12:44am EST when it shifts into Leo. Here, the moon is dramatic and expressive. It becomes easier to lean into exuberance and show off our feelings in big ways and grand gestures. The moon trines Jupiter at 2:44am EST, which makes for an optimistic feeling and a desire to expand the emotions into something even larger and more encompassing. Many will feel more affectionate and vocal about this. Later on, Venus trine Mars at 10:20pm EST and we feel this building up all day. This is a very pleasant transit that encourages teamwork and cooperation. It improves balance and creates a nice flow between yin and yang energies. We may feel more romantic and sensual under the influence of this aspect. Overall the astrology for the day is quite pleasant and provides a fine stage for enjoyment.
Wednesday, October 19th ~ We have another full day with the moon in Leo, amplifying creativity and our connection to the inner child. The moon sextiles Mercury at 1:15am and squares both its Nodes at 3:56am EST. We might be more chatty and enjoy sharing whatever is on our minds. There may be some reluctance to take action and we could delay or procrastinate, preferring to distract ourselves in some manner. The moon trines Chiron at 4:05am EST, bringing opportunity for healing through allowing ourselves to be more vocal and outspoken. The Sun squares Pluto at 9:33am EST, a transit we feel all day long. This is quite an unpleasant aspect that amplifies power imbalances and brings a feeling of frustration. It is a little like a dark cloud that makes it feel difficult to get to the next level of being. We may feel stuck or like we are actively being prevented from moving forward by someone in our lives. While there may be kernels of truth to this, keep in mind that this transit can distort our perception and make it seem much more dramatic than it really is. The moon squares Uranus at 12:11pm and opposes Saturn at 1:59pm EST. It is not the best day for getting lots of work done or for achieving deep focus. Most will be quite scatterbrained and will long for amusement and play. Mercury opposes Chiron tonight at 9:23pm EST which can make us somewhat self-conscious about our thoughts, ideas, or the way we talk. We could find ourselves replaying conversations in our minds. The best course of action today is to keep busy and to give your brain other things to do like reading a book, doing a puzzle, or playing a game.
Thursday, October 20th ~ The day kicks off with Venus squaring Pluto at 2:02am EST, a transit we feel for the rest of the day. We are coming off of yesterday's Sun/Pluto square, and this energy is different but definitely related. This increases our desire for deep intimacy. We may feel somewhat possessive of loved ones and could notice jealousy tinging our moods. There may be a desire to transform through our relationships, taking them to dark places in order to make them stronger. This is not necessarily healthy, and requires some awareness to navigate. Sit with your feelings before taking them out on others. The Leo moon sextiles Mars at 2:23am and sextiles Venus at 5:12am EST, enhancing sensuality and passion. It then enters its Waning Crescent phase at 6:35am EST, gradually declining in light. This is a more inward time that is good for reflecting on where we are at and what we have accomplished over the past lunation cycle. Light a candle and make a wish. The moon is void of course from 6:36am until it enters Virgo at 12:25pm EST. The void period is like a little storm; you may wish to curl up inside under a blanket with a good book or movie. Once the moon is in Virgo, we feel strong and active and ready to take on the world. Having a loose plan for the afternoon and evening brings satisfaction.
Friday, October 21st ~ The moon is in grounded Virgo all day, giving us a steady beat and connection to the rhythm of the Earth. Morning is free from transits and allows us to get in touch with our own authentic energy. The moon trines the North Node at 2:23pm EST, opening up destiny and giving us the courage and strength to make a move toward a longtime goal. The moon trines Uranus at 10:19pm EST which opens up our minds and allows us to see a problem from a new perspective. We could feel excited and electric, like something big is on the horizon about to bless us with is arrival.
Saturday, October 22nd ~ The day begins with the Virgo moon opposing Neptune at 8:37am and squaring Mars at 12:27pm EST. We could feel somewhat rushed; the best course of action is to formulate a plan to help flow with the day. The moon trines Pluto at 2:17pm and then moves void of course for about seven hours. We reach a level of focus that brings more chill and the ability to remain calm and receptive. The Sun conjuncts Venus at 5:17pm EST, a deeply positive aspect that enhances confidence and makes it easier to socialize. Warmth and congeniality rule the second part of the day. This also helps us to look good and feel a sense of pride in our work and appearance. Mercury trines Saturn at 9:00pm EST, developing mental focus and allowing us to get right to the point in our thoughts and speech. We can solve more complex problems with this aspect on our side. The moon enters Libra at 9:23pm EST, making this an excellent evening for interacting with others, going to parties, etc. The moon opposes Jupiter at 10:17pm EST suggesting we may be overexcited or stimulated and could find it hard to get to bed too early.
Sunday, October 23rd ~ Happy Scorpio Season! The moon is in airy Libra all day, increasing artistry and our ability to harmonize with our surroundings. Saturn stations direct at 12:07am EST. Its retrograde period began on June 4th. We are no strangers to this time as Saturn spends roughly 4-5 months of every year in retrograde. The retrogrades bring up past karma and give us a chance to tie up loose ends and clean up old messes so that we may move forward. Now that Saturn is direct we can begin to make more headway on goals and build foundations which will serve us in the future. The work of Saturn is never totally done, so it is still a good idea to check in occasionally on things from the past that might be weighing heavily on us. The day continues with Venus entering Scorpio at 3:51am EST. Venus will be here until November 16th. In the sign of Scorpio, relationships grow more intense. We seek out something real, beyond surface attraction or shallow shared interests. Subtlety disappears in favor of deep, intuitive connection and powerful sensual attraction. Those with Venus in water signs or in Virgo or Capricorn will especially enjoy this transit. The Sun moves into Scorpio at 6:35am EST and officially kicks off Scorpio season. This time of fixed water is deep and entrancing. The veil is at its thinnest during this time of year and we are able to hone our intuitive skills to a much more powerful degree. The day ends with an opposition between the moon and Chiron at 9:51pm EST, suggesting we may be hiding from some emotion that seeks release. It is a good evening to talk things out with someone you trust.
