Monday, October 2nd ~ We start the week with the moon in sensual, grounded Taurus. It is here all day, providing us with a deep connection to nature. Today is quite an active day, so this is helpful in bringing some centering and focus to our minds. Mercury opposes Neptune today at 11:34am EST, a transit we feel all day. There could be some tension between the creative, spiritual side of you and the logical, practical side. Balance is needed to bring about the most harmony. The moon conjuncts Uranus at 11:57am EST which increases impulsivity and reluctance to be told how to feel about things. This can bring about rebellious urges, acting as a strong magnet that pulls us away from the crowd. Venus trines the North Node of the Moon at 2:45pm EST, another transit we feel all day. This can ignite creative ideas and visions which have the potential to open new doors for us. If we follow these ideas and work to bring them to fruition, we can alter our lives for the better. This transit also calls forward people who can help us make these things a reality. See who reaches out today, who you feel compelled to talk to, or who you naturally happen to connect with. Later, the moon squares Venus at 4:06pm and sextiles Neptune at 5:46pm EST. We feel deep compassion for others but may prefer to have some space from them while we sort out our feelings. We gain greater understanding of what others are going through by getting some distance and reflecting. The moon trines Mercury at 6:41pm and trines Pluto at 9:19pm EST before moving void of course for about three and a half hours. This allows for added observational skills to enter into our awareness. We see below the exterior and glimpse the shadows and mysteries beneath.
Tuesday, October 3rd ~ The moon is void of course to begin the day, lasting until 1:03am EST when it enters Gemini. It is curious and restless in this sign, and in turn we seek to understand emotions by talking about them or writing them down. The moon squares Saturn at 3:28am EST; responsibilities feel frustrating and all consuming and we long for mental freedom. Mercury trines Pluto at 3:19pm EST, a transit that is palpable all day long. This is a pleasant aspect which is often though of as the "Detective's Aspect". A lot of detectives and mystery writers have this in their birth charts. It allows one to follow a thread deeper and deeper, and increases powers of observation. Intrigue builds and we follow our sense of wonder down whatever rabbit hole opens up. The moon enters its Waning Gibbous phase at 8:03pm EST. The next two days are ideal for reflecting on what we are happy with in our lives, and focusing on those things that light us up and that we feel we have done well. This is a time for celebration, for giving out compliments and love, and taking the time to turn some of that gratitude back on yourself as well.
Wednesday, October 4th ~ The moon is in Gemini all day, which makes us extra talkative. A lot of people tend to discuss their emotions in a more extroverted manner, and you may notice people "dumping" their thoughts and feelings and then just taking off. The moon sextiles Chiron at 9:50am EST which suggests that sharing can actually be cathartic. Be mindful and make sure the people you are talking to have the mental space to take on your energy at the moment. Mars conjuncts the South Node of the Moon today at 12:06pm EST, a big transit that we feel all day and continue to notice as it fizzles out over the next two days. Instant attractions develop today, especially with those we share a past connection with. This could be someone you knew when you were younger, or perhaps even in a past life. There is a strong past life theme emerging throughout the end of this week, and we could find ourselves getting pulled to take up a hobby we once had in another time or place, or simply called to tie up loose ends that were never dealt with in the past. This can feel almost compulsory in nature. Mercury enters Libra today at 8:08pm EST; this is a big deal as Mercury has been in the sign of Virgo for over two months! Typically, Mercury spends about 2-3 weeks in a sign, but due to its retrograde it camped out in Virgo's slice of the sky for longer. Mercury's time in Libra lasts until October 21st. Communications go further if we can be diplomatic and hear out everybody in the room. Work to find compromises and seek out fair solutions. The moon sextiles its North Node at 10:57pm and trines Mars at 11:32pm EST to close out this busy cosmic day. Here, we can take lessons from the past and figure out how to use them to improve the future.
Thursday, October 5th ~ Today starts with the Gemini moon squaring Neptune at 12:37am and sextiling Venus at 2:34am EST. We might feel a little confused and out of our element to start the day, but we gain some semblance of normalcy by reaching out and getting help from others. The moon is void of course from 2:35am until it enters Cancer at 8:31am EST. Luna is at home in the sign she rules over, and this allows our intuition to strengthen. This is a good day to go with the flow and get some creative time in. The moon squares Mercury at 10:32am and then trines Saturn at 10:54am EST. We could feel slightly at odds as we deviate between emotions and logic. The thing that helps most is finding something to focus on and putting all our attention into it. Projects that require more physical work are useful for balancing out any stress. The rest of the day is free from any major transits, giving us an almost 24 hour period with no astrological interference.
Friday, October 6th ~ The moon is in Cancer for a second full day, deepening the well of emotions. While we experience the full range of emotions and this can certainly be quite intense, it also gives us a lot to draw from for creative pursuits. The moon reaches its Last Quarter phase at 9:47am EST. It is time to release and let go of energies that are no longer serving us. Since this is a transitional period, it is better for clearing out the old rather than bringing in anything new. The moon sextiles Jupiter at 11:29am EST which brings in optimistic vibes as we approach life as an adventure. While we work on shedding the old, we can maintain a hopeful spirit as we envision the dream life we'd like to bring about. The moon squares Chiron at 7:17pm EST to close out the day. It can be hard to let go of something from the past, but it needs to be done. There's no where left to go here, and we've got to clear space for the new. It's okay to grieve as you make the choice to break away from this energy, and remember it can happen in your own time. There is no rushing this process.
Saturday, October 7th ~ The weekend begins with the Cancer moon sextiling Uranus at 4:22am EST which allows us to detach from emotional entanglements and see something from a bird's eye view. This objectivity allows for greater understanding and insights to appear. The moon squares its Nodes at 9:21am and trines Neptune at 10:58am EST. There can be uncertainty and a fog of confusion presenting today, but remember to trust your intuition and not overthink things too much. You don't need to make a choice yet, just hold space and remain curious. The moon squares Mars at 1:25pm and opposes Pluto at 3:11pm EST. Mars and Pluto are building in a square that will perfect tomorrow, and we can feel the explosiveness already. This is a somewhat sticky series of transits that intensifies emotions and can flare up anger and frustration. Mostly we want to remain autonomous and will feel frustrated at attempts to control our freedom. The moon is void of course from 3:12pm until it enters Leo at 7:24pm EST. This ingress into Leo is a creative burst of color that leads us to want to socialize and get out and about. We will want to show off our true self to the world at large.
Sunday, October 8th ~ The moon is in fiery, loving Leo all day. This is a big astrological day, with a couple major shifts occurring. We start with the moon sextile Mercury at 7:47am EST, a transit which gets the mind active and allows us to communicate our ideas with vigor and excitement. Mars perfects in square to Pluto at 9:04pm EST, a transit we have felt building for a couple days and will continue to feel through the start of next week. This is an intense transit that can make some drunk on power. You may need to assert yourself to call back your own power from bullies or those who believe they gain energy from mistreating others. It is time to stoke your own inner fire and allow yourself to go after what you want. This transit can make us feel self conscious or bad for wanting more, but this is an illusion. Life is about creating and experiencing, and it is natural to want to evolve, improve, and experience all life has to offer. It's okay to desire things, and it doesn't make you bad or wrong. Venus enters Virgo at 9:10pm EST, a significant transit since Venus has been in Leo for over four months due to its retrograde. Venus will be here in Virgo until November 8th. It is considered to be in its "fall" in this placement, meaning it can't express its energies at full strength. Taking care of the details and helping out our loved ones with acts of service goes a long way during this period. We could find it easier to focus on details in creative work, and getting organized and forming a plan in creative ventures brings much peace of mind. We also benefit from thinking of long term goals with an intimate partner or friend, and figuring out a game plan to get there step by step. Finally, the moon squares Jupiter at 10:55pm EST to close out the day. This gets us very excited and boisterous, and we experience our emotions in a big way.
