September 9 - 15

EARLY WEEK

On Monday, September 9th at 2:50am EST, Mercury gracefully transitions into Virgo. This celestial messenger had graced Virgo’s domain from late July through the early days of August before retreating into Leo for the remainder of its retrograde. Now, it resumes its journey through Virgo, where it will remain until September 26th. Mercury, the natural ruler of Virgo, enhances our capacity for analytical thought, meticulous observation, and communication centered on problem-solving and refinement. Those with their natal Mercury in earth signs (Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn) and two of the three water signs (Cancer, Scorpio) will find this 2.5-week period particularly auspicious. Clarity may emerge more readily, and communication is likely to flow with greater ease. Others may find that adjustments or compromises are necessary in their interactions with the world.

Later on Monday, the moon enters Sagittarius at 1:25pm, where it will be until Wednesday night. Tuesday offers a respite from major transits, but the waxing moon in Sagittarius stirs a yearning to break free from the mundane and seek personal liberation and adventure. This is a good time to be light-hearted and find humor and joy in the simple moments of life.

LATE WEEK

Wednesday the 11th unfolds with plenty of celestial activity. At 2:05am EST, the moon reaches its First Quarter phase, awakening a drive for action within us. The square between the Sun in Virgo and Moon in Sagittarius may create tension between our inner desires and external demands, pushing us towards decisive movement. This phase acts as a cosmic catalyst, urging us to take initiative.

The day then quiets for approximately 15 hours until Mercury emerges from its retrograde shadow at 7:52pm. This signifies Mercury’s return to the position it held on August 5th when it first turned retrograde (4 degrees and 6 minutes of Virgo), marking the beginning of a new chapter and easing any lingering retrograde effects.

From 8:21pm to 10:37pm, the moon drifts void of course, a period ideal for relaxation and stepping back from work. At 10:37pm, the moon enters Capricorn, where it will remain until early Saturday morning. This transit grounds us, providing a focus on achieving practical goals. Later, at 11:41pm, Mercury forms a sextile with Mars, igniting our passions and sparking enthusiasm for exploration and discussion. This aspect encourages vibrant exchanges and a deep dive into our interests.

On Thursday, the 12th, the Sun squares Jupiter at 6:52am, casting its influence over the day. This alignment intensifies our desire for recognition and can inflame egos, driving us to seek attention and express ourselves with fervor. Under this transit, we may feel an exuberant surge of enthusiasm or strong convictions. The moon’s presence in Capricorn throughout the day supports our efforts, helping us to make tangible progress and accomplish our goals.

WEEKEND

Happy Friday the 13th! While this day holds no specific astrological significance, its numerological essence imbues it with potent energy for manifestation. The moon’s journey through Capricorn today aids in our capacity to pursue financial and career ambitions. At 1:00pm EST, it reaches its Waxing Gibbous phase, heightening excitement, enthusiasm, and anticipation for what lies ahead. The cosmic energies of both Friday and Saturday are favorably aligned, offering support and encouragement.

On Saturday the 14th, the moon transitions into Aquarius at 3:53am, where it will remain until Monday morning. This Aquarian influence invites us to embrace a broader perspective. We may find ourselves more detached emotionally, favoring innovative solutions and creative brainstorming. Compassion for humanitarian issues may flow more easily, though we might crave greater freedom and buck against restrictions.

Sunday the 15th opens with Venus trining Jupiter at 1:34am, a transit that colors the entire day with its harmonious energy. This alignment is ideal for romance, social interactions, and enhancing our extroverted qualities. Our appreciation for beauty and detail is heightened, benefiting artistic endeavors and pursuits such as shopping or decorating. However, later in the day, Mars squares the Nodes of the Moon at 10:24pm. This intense transit, which has been building since late last week and will persist until midweek, may stir feelings of impatience and impulsiveness, while simultaneously leaving us feeling somewhat stuck. The tension between the past and future may become pronounced, with some feeling trapped and others compelled to make sudden changes. The key is to avoid making irreversible decisions until after Thursday the 19th, allowing time for clarity to emerge.
