Friday, January 9th - Today is full of illusion and veils. The Virgo moon plays tricks on our eyes and minds and interacts with the planets like a magician using a false deck of cards. Early this morning the moon opposes Neptune, and this sets the tone of energy for the day. It is easy to feel as though nothing in your day to day life is working out. The desire will be to escape, daydream and view things through the sea blue lens of watery, illusory Neptune. The moon then enters a series of quincunxes at 7am (Mercury), 9am (Venus) and 7pm (Uranus). Quincunx aspects make it so the two planets involved cannot understand one another and it becomes challenging to merge their energies. It is a bit like oil and water. When the moon becomes involved, we're dealing with feelings and inner emotional landscapes. Merging these with pretty much anything else today will feel like hitting a brick wall. The moon doesn't stop there; it forms a trine with Pluto tonight and then an opposition with Chiron at 9pm. It won't be enough to turn to escapism; there is a real need to investigate and overcome internal issues. The problem is that the energy of the day is not all that helpful in these arenas. Capricorns and Tauruses may not notice this... in fact, they could have very pleasant days since the moon will be in trine to their natal Sun. For all the others, hang in there and don't feel like you have to figure out everything today.
Saturday, January 10th - Things seem brighter and better today. A Moon trine Sun aspect starts us off at 9am EST. Emotions will feel more in harmony and in sync with what our outer environment is showing us. There is a symbiotic relationship between moods and what we create around us, and today there is deep potential for growth. The main issue is that the moon turns void of course at 10:46am, where it will stay until Sunday morning. Virgo moon voids make it very difficult to get anything of substance done. In fact, forget about doing work today. Enjoy yourself and focus on subtle movement of vibration. It is a good day to set goals and imagine scenarios, but not so ideal for actually taking the steps toward completion.
Sunday, January 11th - Two quincunxes before daybreak make the early morning a little perplexing. Moon and Mars is the first at 3am, and Sun and Jupiter are the second at 5am. Moon and Mars is brief enough that you might not even notice its effects once you wake up, but Sun and Jupiter could create a slight feeling of not being able to accomplish all you want to do today. The moon comes out of its void period and enters the sign of Libra at around 7am. Libra moon is social and loving, and enjoys creative pursuits. A Moon sextile Saturn aspect at 9am will be good for getting a little creative work done, doing a puzzle, or reading a book. Today's energy is very practical while still being focused in the creative realm, so work on a forgotten project and spend time with people you care about.
Monday, January 12th - The Libra moon is extremely active this morning! It forms six aspects before noon. The moon trines both Mercury and Venus at around 3am EST, which may not seem to have much effect if you are asleep. Of course, during sleep our subconscious minds are still very active and we can interact and solve problems in higher planes than the physical. These aspects are pleasant, and if you set your intention before bed then you can wake up feeling as though you have worked through some problems just by being asleep. At around 5am Mars enters the sign of Pisces. This isn't the most natural sign for Mars to be in but it can still be fairly pleasant, particularly for spiritual matters and for encouraging good relations between yourself and those around you. The only downside is that while there is a lot of mental and spiritual energy during a Mars in Pisces period, there is little drive to be physically active. Try to push yourself to do a little stretching or walking at the very least. The late morning and early afternoon have a number of Moon aspects that may create a feeling of stress, particularly for Libras and Aries. This is mostly because of the sheer amount of rapidly changing Moon contacts from 9am until 12pm. It can be a bit much to acclimate to. The afternoon is a little quieter, and there isn't another major aspect until 11pm, when the Moon sextiles Jupiter. This often creates a need to be around loved ones and show them you care. Sharing emotions and feelings will come naturally tonight, and moods could be very good, particularly for Leos and Sagittarians.
Tuesday, January 13th - The moon is void of course from 4:47am until about 6:45 in the evening, when it enters the sign of Scorpio. As always, void moons are never a great time to make important decisions or to get work of too much substance done. A Libra void moon suggests to hold off important decisions regarding loved ones or creative projects until tonight. Today is actually a great day for relationships, despite this. A Venus sextile Uranus aspect that has been building will reach exact degree at about 3pm EST. This will give love affairs an interesting boost of electric Aquarian energy. There is great capacity for helping others through love today, or through music. Tonight the newly Scorpio moon will trine Mars at 9pm, which could make it hard to fall asleep! You might find yourself unable to sit still, or finally motivated to get something done tonight. Scorpio moons, particularly waning Scorpio moons, are great for reflection, looking deep into one's own life path and for quiet time spent with a partner.
Wednesday, January 14th - The day starts off with a dose of strange and unusual. Moon trine Neptune and Mercury sextile Uranus are the first aspects of the day, both hitting exact degree at around 5am EST. There will be a drive to discuss the bizarre today, and you may be surprised by those around you and what they choose to share. Some might say things for shock purposes only. All of this is going on while Venus trines the North Node at about 8am. This is a pleasant aspect for romance and karmic ties between lovers and close, personal friends. It is truly one of the most romantic aspects there is and not in a cliched sense, but in a spiritual, multi-dimensional, shared love sort of way. You may be drawn to others for reasons you can't explain. Tonight there are some classically difficult aspects hitting between 6 and 10pm, and yet there is a universal thread keeping us from getting taken down by mood swings should we let it buoy us. The Scorpio moon forms a number of hard aspects with various planets and luminaries tonight, which could come off in the form of jealousy or anger. Any issues you've been burying will rise up, but this is a blessing that allows us to transcend and transform. Aquarius and Libra will not be touched by this, and may be floating off in their own world.
Thursday, January 15th - Mars square Saturn starts off the day at 1am. This is a low energy aspect, meaning you may wake up groggy, or feel slightly under the weather. This aspect has been building over the last week so those who have been ignoring their own needs may have gotten sick. This is your body telling you to take some time off for yourself. Spend a day doing nothing if you can manage it. Mercury trine North Node and Pluto square North Node come at about 2am EST. Any north node aspects bring in karmic ties with our pasts, including our past lives. Anyone with whom you share these ties to will be brought forward in an attempt to release karmic debts. This is not always the most comfortable feeling, especially if you have been ignoring these things or holding onto negative emotions. You may find people who annoy you or bother you today, and this is the universe's way of telling you to release these ties and send love out. That doesn't mean you have to be best friends with these people, but you can wish them well, send out light and move on. Releasing negativity can help give us more energy and wellness overall. You may also be drawn to your "soul family" today. Soul families are a group of souls who incarnate together in many lifetimes to learn and create together. They may have karmic ties or they may just enjoy creating as a unit. Being around these people feels very familiar from the start and seeing them feeds our souls and helps us find our path in life. Today is a good day for interaction within our soul group. Tonight the moon moves void of course at 6:52pm, where it will stay until early tomorrow morning. Keep energy light tonight; try to have fun and enjoy yourself. Save important work or decisions for tomorrow.
