Monday, September 21st ~ Early this morning Mercury and Pluto meet in square at 1:21am EST, an energy we'll be feeling all day. Mercury is especially active this week and one of the strongest players as it navigates the last decan of Libra. The energy of the Mercury/Pluto square brings some tension around leadership. We may have a hard time communicating our wishes to others in a way that does not seem bossy or possibly controlling. The Sun is currently at the 29th degree of Virgo, the anueretic degree. This creates a kind of collective restlessness. We feel on the verge of something but are not quite there yet. As we move toward this energy, be mindful of how you interact and make sure your intention is as clear as you can get it when you speak with others. It may seem rather simple but 'please' and 'thank you' go a long way today in easing the tension.

Tuesday, September 22nd ~ Mabon tidings! We welcome in autumn today in the northern hemisphere and spring in the southern hemisphere as the Sun enters Libra at 9:30am EST. Libra is represented by the scales, the perfect balancing act. This is mirrored in nature as today the amount of daylight is exactly equal to the amount of darkness. We move in tandem with the seasons and all is a macrocosmic view of what goes on inside the human collective consciousness. Libra season reminds us to stay balanced as nature does. The Sun and Moon receive equal viewing time. And so, we should be sure we balance our shadow with light, and our light with shadow. Embrace the good and the not so good, and work together with each to make it across the tightrope. Balance time in the external world with inner work and rest. Be a mindful juggler this Libra season. Today Mercury and the North Node are in trine, creating opportunities for growth through communication and technology.

Wednesday, September 23rd ~ The First quarter moon in Capricorn gets us ready and raring to go. We feel determined, eager, and excited to work toward our goals. Stagnation and setbacks will cause immense frustration. Mercury is in square to Saturn (peak 6:38am EST but felt all day) which brings the tendency to overwork, or feel a little lost if we are not plugging away toward a larger goal. Ultimately this energy is great and productive, but if we find ourselves mired down in commitments or tedium we will become restless and stressed. It is best to clear your schedule so that you are free to work on what you wish, if at all possible.

Thursday, September 24th ~ Again Mercury is a star player this week as it makes it through the final degrees of Libra. The Libra Mercury is diplomatic, medial, focused on maintaining justice and harmony in communication. Today it moves into an opposition with Mars, who is currently retrograde in Aries. This opposition occurs at 6:52am EST but we will notice the impact all day. This is a pretty intense transit that will make it difficult to remain neutral in conversation. Arguments and frustration will likely come up, be it in person or in the realm of the internet. This will feel particularly heated and stressful due to Mercury's place in gentle Libra, and the fire and intensity of Mars Rx in Aries. The best thing to do is disengage until the flame of the transit has passed, later tonight or tomorrow. Arguments will not reach a resolution during this opposition and will just leave everyone feeling bad. If you are unable to avoid the confrontation, try to hear out your opponent and remember the balance and skillful mediation of Libra as you form your reply.

Friday and Saturday are relatively quiet in the cosmos, with the moon moving from Capricorn and into Aquarius, but no major aspects beyond fleeting lunar transits.

Sunday, September 27th ~ Mercury is monarch of the cosmos this week, having several intense aspects and now an ingress into Scorpio today at 3:40am EST. Mercury will camp out in Scorpio for a good long while thanks to an upcoming retrograde on October 13th. In fact, Mercury will move all the way back through Scorpio and return to Libra for a while. We will have Mercury in Scorpio September 27th through October 28th, and then again November 11th through December 2nd. Mercury in Scorpio is intense, passionate, and is committed to finding the truth. When Mercury is here we tend to be investigative, wanting to see all hidden information. It is never a good idea to tell a lie while Mercury is in Scorpio because it will find its way to the surface in a dramatic way. In some ways the retrograde is really beautifully placed, as Mercury will return to Libra for the US presidential election, which should bring some fairness and equality to the proceedings. (The retrograde even ends on the day of the election, but more on that later...) You may find yourself very curious over the next couple months, wanting to seek out answers to quandaries and problems. Settling for an unsatisfactory explanation is not in the stars. Dreamwork, shadow work, and spiritual studies all flourish under this position.
