Monday, February 1st ~ Today the moon is void for about 15 minutes, from 6:10am until 6:26am EST as it enters Libra. When the moon is in Libra we may strive for more balance and harmony in our relationships with others. The Sun squares Mars today. This perfects at 5:33am EST but we will feel it all throughout the day. This is a tense aspect which is particularly rough given the moon being in Libra. A Sun/Mars square tends to make us feel combative and dissatisfied, while the Libra Moon will be particularly sensitive to such altercations. Things should get a little easier as the day moves on. There are some lovely creative asteroid aspects. Jupiter and Psyche are in trine for the next four days, which will allow us to come up with new ways of thinking and looking at situations. I will dive into this aspect deeper in the next few days. Pallas is trining the North Node, which allows us to make creative progress that can aid us on our karmic journeys. The other big news for today is Venus entering Aquarius at 9:05am EST. Venus joins the Sun, Mercury, Saturn, and Jupiter in the sign of the water bearer. The next two days are loaded up with air sign energy, stimulating the mind. Venus will be in Aquarius until February 25th. Relationships thrive through intellectual connection over the next few weeks. We tend to be more turned on by good ideas and banter when Venus is transiting Aquarius. Big picture thinking will be easier than normal; if you are not a person with much air sign energy in your natal chart this might be a little challenging. Deep breathing and alternate breathing are good ways to work with the air element. You can also go outside on a windy day, or watch the clouds.
Tuesday, February 2nd ~ Today we have the moon in Libra all day long, creating a desire for balance and equality. It is the kind of day where we may prefer to spend a little time doing several things, rather than focusing intently on one. If you do find yourself needing to complete one big task, then take breaks throughout for deep breathing and for seeking out center. All of our aspects for the day are minor and concerning asteroids but will still be palpable. The first is the Sun sextiling Juno, the asteroid representing the mother. Jupiter and Psyche continue to trine today through Thursday, and Pallas and the North Node remain in exact trine through the end of today. All of these contribute to a deep sense of creative potential. We desire to bring new energy into the world in the form of something tangible that others can see and interact with. This could look like an art project, a new look for yourself or your home, or perhaps having a child. Whatever new energy you bring into the world today, wield your intent with care. Wednesday, February 3rd ~ The moon is void of course this morning from 1:15am until 9:15am EST as it enters Scorpio. So many planets were in air signs over the past few days that there might be a release once the moon moves into Scorpio. You could find you feel things deeply or wish to really sit with your own emotions. Jupiter and Psyche continue their trine today and tomorrow. Let's unpack this aspect. Asteroid Psyche rules over the brain and the synapses. It shows up prominently in the charts of those with marked intelligence and those who are not neurotypical. When Jupiter contacts this asteroid in a harmonious way, it breaks open our normal manner of understanding and learning. It is expanded! We are able to see with greater perspective. Jupiter is currently transiting Aquarius, the sign of the big picture. This transit can really allow you to step out of your small self and see things from a higher perspective if you are ready to try. It is also useful for seeing things from another's point of view.
Thursday, February 4th ~ The waning moon reaches its Last Quarter in the sign of Scorpio. The Last Quarter is a time for shedding. We take action to remove blockages and stagnation as we approach next week's New Moon in Aquarius. As the moon is presently in Scorpio, we may find that these blockages are more emotional than external. Allow yourself to move your emotions through expression. Cry, yell, journal out all your feelings, talk to a trusted friend. Trust is really important with a Scorpio moon. We often hold onto our emotions because we don't feel safe to share them. Find someone you trust, even if it is yourself. You can hold space for your own release if needed. Jupiter and Psyche remain in trine, though today is the final day of this aspect. We can see things from a bird's eye view and step out of the confines of our minds to experience glimmers of insight. You may be able to do this more effectively once your emotional release has occurred.
Friday, February 5th ~ Today's energy is less heavy than yesterday; it is more fiery and adventurous. The moon is void from 4:20am until 12:17pm EST when it shifts into Sagittarius. The morning is slower and more introspective but then things shift. Suddenly you may desire to explore and play. There is less focus on the emotional realm and more on the act of experiencing. Venus sextiles asteroid Eros today and tomorrow, which is a highly sensual contact. We are poised to seek out romance and physical connection today. Friday is ruled by Venus, and she makes herself known through today's planetary play. Dance or other forms of physical expression could feel particularly enjoyable.
Saturday, February 6th ~ The moon is in Sagittarius all day today, providing a need to expand and explore. We will want to shake up dull routines and enjoy a sense of freedom. Venus is extremely active today, moving into conjunction with Saturn (2:06am EST), sextile with Chiron (6:42am EST) and a square with Uranus (10:32pm EST). In addition, she continues to sextile asteroid Eros. All of this Venusian color turns our thoughts to close partnerships and romantic connections. However, the aspects are not necessarily all roses and chocolates. The Saturn conjunction makes us feel serious-minded about our intentions, and the Uranian square makes us want to have unique, exciting connections that are not at all predictable. The Chiron sextile suggests we may do some healing work through our relationships today. Many will push close relationships out of their comfort zones into new terrain. Those that stubbornly try to stay in the same old rut could be in for some surprises. The Sun is trining the North Node today (perfecting at 1:39pm EST) which could make some interactions or decisions feel all-important or even fated. Overall the Sagittarius moon keeps things generally light-hearted, though if things do take on a negative tinge, some may try to flee rather than face the troubles head on.
Sunday, February 7th ~ Today is the quietest day of the week astrologically. All the major transits of the past several days are over and the skies are silent. Take a deep breath and enjoy the intermission. The moon is void for much of the day today, from 1:16am until 3:52pm EST when it enters Capricorn. It is a good idea to take some time off today if possible. Enjoy yourself and try to unplug from responsibilities where you can manage. Once the moon is in Capricorn you might find working on something is actually what you want to do most, so let your desire to do chores or projects bubble up naturally rather than forcing it in the morning or early afternoon.
