Monday, August 2nd ~ We begin the day with an early morning Sun/Saturn opposition at 2:14am EST. This transit impacts our sense of responsibility and can make us feel resentful of perceived outside forces which are keeping us from freedom. We may feel like authority figures are watching over us too closely, or perhaps we are serving this role for ourselves. The theme of the day revolves around freedom and openness of communication. The moon is void for just about an hour, from 3:41am until 4:46am EST, when it moves into Gemini. Here we feel compelled to share our thoughts and work through problems out loud. We may find that talking about theoretical topics brings us resolution on more personal troubles. Mercury and Chiron meet in trine tonight at 11:41pm EST, but we feel this build up all day. The idea here is that through sharing, we invite others who may be going through similar issues to feel more comfortable and heal. We lead the way through our example. Jupiter sextiles distant planet Ixion, which invites in an expansive form of rebellion. Under the gentle harmony of a sextile, this allows us to reconfigure our lives to allow for more movement and freedom, should we wish for it.
Tuesday, August 3rd ~ The moon is in Gemini all day, making many aspects as it gradually wanes. Our attention could be more scattered today; we may find that moving in a number of different directions yields more inspiration. Asteroid Juno stations direct today at 8 degrees Sagittarius. The asteroid whose mythology centers around the Roman goddess of motherhood, its retrograde may have caused us to move into the past through repeated thoughts or examination of memory regarding mothers (your own mother, your role as a mother, an important mother in your life, mother Earth, or even past life mothers). With the retrograde coming to a close, we find these lessons integrating into our psyche in a rather natural fashion, like a deck of cards being shuffled. Venus and Uranus meet in trine today at 2:53am EST, which causes a welcome surprise to show up in a personal relationship or in our way of viewing color, textiles, and shapes. We may find ourselves artistically stimulated or inspired. Mercury and Uranus square at 9:57pm EST which can cause some quarrels or disputes; conversely, it can also make for some interesting debates which shake up our perceived methods of thought. Consider what you can learn from another rather than what you can enforce on them.
Wednesday, August 4th ~ The moon is in Gemini to begin, and curiosity abounds. We could feel quite intellectually piqued, wanting to learn all we can about a certain subject. The brain responds well to puzzles and games. The moon is void of course for a couple hours in the late afternoon, from 3:38pm until 5:17pm EST when it ingresses Cancer. The emotional realm lets us in at this point. We feel a deepening connection with all that is and all that came before. The Sun and Chiron trine each other at 6:40pm EST, a healing transit that invites us to reimagine the concept of self. Self love and acceptance allow our perception to shift; the opening up of your perception of what is possible orients you differently in the world and brings along new opportunities. Meditate on the concept of self as a dear friend. How would a higher being with infinite compassion view you?
Thursday, August 5th ~ The moon is at home in Cancer all day, luxuriating under lunar lights along a phosphorescent sea. It is a relatively quiet day astrologically. We may feel languid and wish to go with the flow. The day functions like the tides; we could have a swell of energy that later becomes something quieter and more internal, or vice versa. Asteroid Psyche sextiles the North Node, which can rewire the brain to connect to our unfolding destiny. Open yourself up to change; you are leveling up in many ways. Things are shaking off which no longer align with your trajectory. Today is my own personal Solar Return, and I just want to say thank you for reading my forecasts each day. I have loved the stars and planets since I first remember being conscious; they all had personalities to me. Friday, August 6th ~ We have the moon in Cancer for another full day. In its domicile, the moon is expansive and emotionally deep. We may feel more tender and open today, or perhaps easily moved by seemingly small details. It is a pretty sparse day transit wise, and the moon moves void of course at 6:12pm EST until tomorrow morning. The night affords us a kind of evening out of time, floating as if in space. We can unhook from our typical reality and explore the great vistas beyond. Whatever activities you do tonight may feel somewhat surreal; this is exaggerated by the Sun squaring Uranus, which perfects at 7:56pm EST. Roll with the unexpected for best results. Dreams can be quite exploratory in nature and offer some sort of message. Seek out a friendly dream character to share something with you. You may not remember it in the morning, but with the intention "out there" trust that it will become integrated and your subconscious will do with it what is needed.
Saturday, August 7th ~ The moon is void of course until 3:31am EST, when it moves into Leo. We gear up all day for tomorrow morning's New Moon in Leo. You may notice your concept of selfhood has shifted significantly. Something that was once part of your identity has transformed or slipped away. This could bring some sadness. It's okay to mourn for what once was and allow it to drift into past memory on a golden pyre. Once this has been expressed, try not to dwell on it. Growth brings us to a new stage; a flower basking under the rays of the sun does not yearn for the quiet days of being a sprouting seed deep in the dark soil. All that lives will cycle round again. We can revisit the days of old in our memory, the truest time machine. The day is quiet astrologically, allowing us some time to prepare for the Dark Moon without much static or interference. Look at your own natal transits. It will be easier to feel them today.
Sunday, August 8th ~ The Sun and Moon meet in perfect conjunction this morning at 9:50am EST at 16 degrees Leo. This is the second decan of Leo, the domain watched over by Jupiter. Jupiter expands all it touches and offers a benefic layer of protection to the transiting planets that pass through its abode. This New Moon begins a new macro moon cycle, colored by the sunshiney gold of Leo. Here we are invited to shed the ego self which we no longer identify with. Allow your belief in yourself to be renewed. You are allowed to be who you really are, regardless of what you once were. The key here is not to revile your former self. Treat them like a departing friend, disappearing like a ship over the horizon. Wave to them, wish them well, thank them for all they brought you during their stay. Then, turn away from the sea and walk down the path, being present in the moment all around you. If others try to treat you as if you are that person from the past, that reflects more on their state of mind. You needn't feel shame over any part of yourself. Every thought, every word, every action taken by the many yous of the past all served to bring you here to this moment, standing in front of that verdant path. Flowers surround you, the Leo-ruled Sun shines overhead. Move forward whenever you're ready.
