Monday, August 30th ~ The moon is in Gemini all day, sparking the brain and inspiring curiosity. Early this morning at 1:09am EST Mercury ingresses Libra, where it will be until November 5th. This is a lengthy transit for the planet, which usually spends around 3 weeks in a single sign. Its retrograde is coming up at the end of September, which will keep it in Libra for an extended stay. In Libra, Mercury enjoys finding ways to connect disparate seeming ideas and find harmony there. Our brains look for patterns and links in data and information, and we enjoy seeking inspiration for ideas from the sensual or aesthetic world. We enjoy discussing concepts and theories with others. The moon is quite active today, forming a conjunction with the North Node at 1:13am, squaring the Sun at 3:13am and trining Saturn at 5:25am EST. We prefer to lose ourselves in our work. Some may notice a feeling of self-consciousness when receiving too much attention, and will enjoy getting lost in a group or focusing more on other people. The transits of the day are quite extroverted. Checking in with a friend, family member, or colleague can bring along fresh inspiration.
Tuesday, August 31st ~ We have another day of the moon in Gemini, forming many aspects throughout the sky as it travels onward. The moon trines Venus at 12:30am EST, encouraging connection with others and collaboration as we move in the direction of a longstanding goal. The moon later squares both Mars (6:35am) and Neptune (9:40am EST), which creates more of an aimless energy. We may prefer to get lost in a kind of theoretical thought chain, learning about something which excites us but does not seem to have any outward purpose. Keep in mind that just because you can't see its function now doesn't mean it's without one. The moon later trines Jupiter at 4:48pm EST before moving void of course until tomorrow morning. The evening is for enjoyment and following your excitement wherever it may lead you.
Wednesday, September 1st ~ The moon is void of course until 1:25am EST when it enters Cancer. Today's energy centers around harmony and connection with loved ones. The moon is square Mercury at 7:46am and sextile to the Sun at 8:52pm EST. Feeling the depths of our emotions and connecting in a wordless, telepathic way may be preferred to having light conversation with another. The asteroids form many aspects today; with the Sun squaring Ceres we may be drawn to help the Earth in some way. Donating time, energy, or money to charities centering around nature is encouraged. Venus trines asteroid Sappho and sextiles asteroid Psyche today, suggesting we find healing through deep acceptance of ourselves. By bringing in greater compassion for the self, we are able to more fully love those around us. An exercise that can help with this is thinking of someone (human or animal) who you love unconditionally, and imagining you are another person that feels the same way about you.
Thursday, September 2nd ~ It's another day with the moon in Cancer, combing the beach under moonlit skies. This morning, the moon squares Chiron at 1:11am and sextiles Uranus at 6:32am EST. We feel compelled to shake off emotional shadows and reset our internal world. There may be a release of some kind, or a desire to move in a new direction in the way we look at things. Mars and Neptune meet in opposition this afternoon at 1:42pm EST, which we've been feeling for the past few days and will continue to notice into the weekend. This transit creates a strong desire to take action, but there could be some confusion over exactly what we should do. We may experience wanderlust or feel a burst of somewhat directionless energy. Some may jump impulsively into a decision without really thinking it over. We can work with this by remembering to lead with our intention. Rather than trying to solve every little thing, think about what you are hoping to get out of an interaction. Maybe you'd like to feel more free, maybe you want to feel more secure, maybe you'd like to have more fun. Think about times in your life when this feeling was prevalent. What was that like? What did it feel like in your body? By training yourself to recognize that sensation, you bring in more trust in your gut and intuition. You begin to notice instinctively which decisions will bring those feelings to you, and which will only bring more confusion and distraction.
Friday, September 3rd ~ We begin with the moon in Cancer, opposing Pluto and then moving void at 1:38am EST. The struggle to gain power or ascendancy in dreams comes about. Lucid dreams could occur, or else frustration is experienced upon waking after feeling very aware of power structures playing out in our dreams. Things ease up as the day progresses. Mercury trines the North Node at 9:17am EST, which connects the brain and intellect with our greater unfolding destiny. It becomes easier to understand the direction we need to go in, and we may have more luck communicating this to others. The moon ingresses Leo at 11:58am EST, adding color and flair to the afternoon and evening. Expression becomes crucial as we dance through the day. The moon sextiles the North Node at 11:01pm EST, which can bring about events which feel a tinge fated or destined. We may feel a sense of greater harmony with the grand design of the universe.
Saturday, September 4th ~ The moon is in Leo all day, sextiling Mercury shortly after midnight and opposing Saturn at 2:54am EST. Leo is often associated with drama and theatrical flair. While this can be true, ultimately the higher expression of Leo is about channeling, and wanting to express the self as a divine instrument through which a message can flow. Leo moves beyond imitation and impression and into a more harmonic conveyance. We seek to accomplish this today through desiring to be present, and wanting to speak up about our emotions as they arise. There is something very simple and healing about today's energy, even though a lot of transits are occurring. They all center around becoming present in whatever you do. The moon later trines Chiron (10:13am) and squares Uranus (3:23pm EST) which indicate a desire to integrate and heal by allowing ourselves to express in an honest way. Mercury and Saturn meet in trine tonight at 9:31pm EST, a great transit for getting focused and honing in on a project. The brain lights up with curiosity and unites with the willpower, providing us with more momentum to get things done.
Sunday, September 5th ~ The Leo Moon sextiles Venus at 7:58am and opposes Jupiter at 10:21am EST. This is extravagance defined! We seek to both enjoy ourselves and bring more joy to those around us. Some may notice their emotions are exaggerated; everything becomes quite dramatic in nature. The moon is void of course for most of the day, from 10:22am until 7:05pm EST when it moves into Virgo. We gear up for tomorrow's New Moon, setting off a new macro lunar cycle in the sign of Virgo. During the void, it can be helpful to set an intention surrounding health / physical body, either for yourself or for someone close to you. More about that in tomorrow's forecast. Venus and Pluto square one another tonight at 11:06pm EST. This aspect can bring about some jealousy and insecurity in relationships and creative output; transform it by reminding yourself not to "script write" a negative outcome, and find one thing you are proud of accomplishing, no matter how small. Build up insecurity from the inside rather than seeking external approval. Here's a little reminder, if you are having trouble: Having the courage and mindfulness to work with the subtle energies of the planets shows you are committed to expanding your own awareness, and building compassion and understanding of others.
