Monday, September 20th ~ Happy Full Moon in Pisces! The moon makes its journey through the degrees by first entering a conjunction with Neptune at 7:39am and sextiling Pluto at 12:45pm EST. These transits introduce an expanded imagination and a desire for emotional freedom and control. Mercury and Jupiter meet in trine at 6:57pm EST, just about an hour before the full moon reaches its peak. This boosts mental activity and increases our ability to communicate clearly. We may feel more social and jovial, and ideas flow like water. The Full Moon occurs at 7:54pm EST with the Sun and Moon at 28 degrees Virgo and Pisces, respectively. This is the third and final decan of these signs; the third decan of Virgo is ruled over by Venus and the third decan of Pisces is ruled by Pluto. A Pisces Full Moon is always quite intense and tender. We may feel somewhat exposed and seek out fantasy worlds to occupy our minds with. The energy of the Venus and Pluto decan rulers lends a kind of dark beauty to this moon. Shadows are delved into and from this we are able to find harmony and inspiration. Don't be afraid of the dark. The moon moves void of course immediately following its opposition to the Sun, lasting until 11:12pm EST when it ingresses Aries. A void directly after a Full Moon allows us to slip through the cracks of reality. Portals open up in a kind of Wonderland-esque adventure. Asteroid Vesta rests at the 29th degree of Libra tonight, which exaggerates lustful feelings and crushes to heightened proportions. Themes of attraction and repulsion arise under this influence and that of a Full Moon co-ruled by Venus and Pluto.
Tuesday, September 21st ~ We have the moon in Aries for the duration of the last full day of summer in the northern hemisphere. The Aries moon brings excitement and momentum to the day. The moon sextiles the North Node at 6:42am and opposes Mars at 7:02am EST. We are pulled easily in the direction of our thoughts. Limitations feel especially frustrating, but also serve as catalysts to help us achieve our goals. The moon continues its busy day with a sextile to Saturn at 12:42pm and a conjunction to Chiron at 8:16pm EST. Working through challenges allows us to overcome and rise above our current circumstances. Asteroid Sappho's retrograde ends today, which began on July 9th. Sappho currently rests at 16 degrees Aquarius, and we feel some relief as the retrograde period comes to a close. When Sappho is retrograde we may find our minds turned to the past with a lens of romanticism superimposed over it. It is a bit like Venus retrograde in that old lovers can return, or we may find ourselves looking back at those times and only focusing on the good. Conversely, we can also become enmeshed in past relationship trauma and have a hard time getting squared away and grounded in the here and now. With the retrograde over, rather than sweeping these things beneath the rug, consider why those themes arose for you. What from the past still needs healing? It will be easier to look at this with clarity now. In addition, asteroid Vesta enters Scorpio today, creating a sense of peace after moving away from the 29th degree of Libra. Vesta rules over hearth and home, and is considered something of a modern co-ruler of Virgo. She will be here in Scorpio until November 16th. Intense focus and study enter the home, and we may be able to magnetically attract people and things to our living space with single-minded intent.
Wednesday, September 22nd ~ Blessed equinox! Today the Sun enters Libra and initiates the Autumnal Equinox in the Northern Hemisphere, and the Spring Equinox in the Southern. To begin the day, we have the moon in Aries, creating a sense of cardinal excitement around the start of something new. Mercury and Pluto meet in square this morning at 9:11am EST, which can lead to obsessive thoughts. We may feel completely pulled into an idea or topic and have a hard time working on anything else. The season officially shifts at 3:21pm EST as the Sun ingresses Libra. The cardinal air sign brings along fresh energy and initiates a time of social activity. Back in ancient times, following Virgo's harvest, Libra was the season when communities would get together to plan for the long winter days ahead. Communication was key in divvying up food and resources, and our ancestors banded together to ensure their survival during the cold, dark months. Libra suggests a kind of lightness, of getting homes and communal spaces ready to occupy and making sure they are equipped with what we need. We may find we desire more collaboration and social contact. This evening, the moon sextiles Jupiter at 7:42pm, squares Pluto at 9:37pm and opposes Mercury at 10:04pm EST before moving void of course until tomorrow. These transits increase impatience and enthusiasm. We may find ourselves excited and amped up. Thankfully, the void period beginning at 10:05pm EST does allow for some rest. Meditation and deep breathing can help quiet the mind. If you have trouble clearing your thoughts, a guided meditation can work just as well.
Thursday, September 23rd ~ Today we have Venus and Uranus meeting in opposition at 5:40am EST, though we will feel its influence all day long. This transit brings a unique take on creativity. Normal, accepted ways of viewing the world will be thrown out in favor of something fresh and original. This is a great transit for artistic endeavors. Relationships flourish under these skies when allowed space to breathe and develop naturally. The moon is void of course to begin the day, until 8:38am EST when it ingresses Taurus. We delight in the magic of the senses for the duration of the day. Dance, song, and visual arts are highlighted. Tonight the moon squares Saturn at 10:39pm EST, bringing a desire to escape from heaviness and responsibility. Asteroid Eros hovers at the 29th degree of Sagittarius today and tomorrow, increasing sexual desire and physical energy. The transits of the day invite us to move our bodies and get in tune with the beat of the earth.
Friday, September 24th ~ The moon is in Taurus all day, grounding us to that which can be tangibly expressed and experienced. Romance and beauty rule the day, and our capacity to see and appreciate delightful things around us increases. We seek out ways to luxuriate in the senses, exploring pleasure and joy. The moon enters a conjunction with Uranus at 12:56pm and later opposes Venus at 4:16pm EST. These transits bring swells of emotion which desire release, either through physical movement or creative output. No other major transits occur today, providing some quiet time in the evening. We will be especially sensitive to our surroundings tonight. Consider cleaning your room or living space to bring more harmony with this energy.
Saturday, September 25th ~ We begin with the moon in Taurus, sextiling Neptune at 3:23am and squaring Jupiter at 6:48am EST. These transits increase our sensitivity and can make us seek out quiet and comfort in a familiar place. Newness can feel a bit threatening, and we may need extra time to acclimate to change. The moon trines Pluto at 9:09am EST before moving void of course for over 11 hours. Mars and Saturn are trining one another at 5:49pm EST, which we can feel building all day long. Despite the lengthy void period, this transit encourages movement and disciplined work. It's possible to hunker down and accomplish something great today, or at least get some major progress underway. The moon's void ends as it ingresses Gemini at 8:36pm EST tonight. Asteroid Eros ingresses Capricorn as well, resolving some tension that was vibrating over the past two days. Eros will be here in Capricorn until November 27th. The asteroid of sex and desire enjoys worldly success in this placement. We may find ourselves motivated to achieve more during this time, and could be attracted to those with a similar attitude.
Sunday, September 26th ~ The moon is in Gemini all day long, activating the higher mind and stimulating curiosity. Learning is appealing when the moon is in Gemini, and we may enjoy discussing emotions from a theoretical standpoint rather than allowing them full expression. The Sun trines the North Node at 3:03am EST, shortly before the moon conjuncts the North Node at 3:32am EST. These nodal contacts align us with our higher destiny. We may be required to take full ownership of a decision today, and to boldly move in the direction of something new. This might be unexpected, but try to maintain a vibration of faith as it unfolds. The Sun and Moon trine at 3:35am EST, and the moon enters its waning gibbous phase. We could feel like pulling our energy in, like tucking our auric field away in a cloak. Recharging is important during the next couple days. The moon continues its active travels, trining Saturn at 10:56am, trining Mars at 11:58am and sextiling Chiron at 6:53pm EST. The late morning and afternoon are more outward in their orientation, while the evening suggests rest for the body. The mind still chooses to float through vast terrains, seeking out exploration in a book, movie, or similar avenue.
