Monday, October 25th ~ Today we begin with the moon in Gemini, trining Jupiter at 1:33am EST. This energy creates excitement and anticipation. Even if no external source seems to reflect a reason for these feelings, they are palpable nonetheless. At 10:10am EST the moon trines Mars and then moves void of course until early evening. While some void periods create a sleepy sense of distraction or aimlessness, this one gives a boost of energy and ability to lock into a groove. The void ends at 5:00pm on the dot as the moon ingresses Cancer. In the sign of its domicile, we feel expanded emotions and enhanced intuition. Tonight the moon enters its Waning Gibbous phase at 10:54pm EST as the Sun and Moon meet in trine. Overall the astrology for today is very positive and offers a feeling of hope and optimism, coupled with the inspiration to work toward the changes we'd like to see in the world.
Tuesday, October 26th ~ We have the moon at home in Cancer today, creating a backdrop rooted in memory and intuition. Nostalgia grows, and we seek out closeness with others via shared emotional experiences. The moon squares Chiron at 12:33pm EST, creating opportunities to heal past pain through our care for others. The moon later sextiles Uranus at 7:37pm EST, which enhances the ability to see things from a bird's eye view and to become less attached to a specific outcome. All day we are building up to a Venus/Neptune square at 9:05pm EST, palpable both today and tomorrow. This aspect enhances fantasies and imagination, especially when it comes to romantic partners. This can be pleasant, but it can also cause us to overlook red flags or other questionable behaviors. We may find our compassion is exaggerated today. This is a wonderful thing on its own, but remember that showing compassion to yourself is equally important, and sometimes that includes setting boundaries with others.
Wednesday, October 27th ~ We have another full day with the moon at home in Cancer, and we explore the moonlit tidal pools of this cardinal water sign. The morning brings the moon in square with Mercury at 1:09am, and in trine to Neptune at 10:47am EST. These transits send us inward. We may not enjoy connecting with others and prefer to get lost in our own world. This doesn't mean we don't feel strong emotions in regards to friends and family, but may be able to experience these in a more meaningful way from afar. Tonight the moon opposes Pluto in Capricorn at 6:07pm EST, the last major aspect of the day. Again, direct contact with other people can result in power struggles or frustrations. It is a better day for taking things on solo. If you do need to interact with others, be aware of emotional reactions and "script writing", or imagining an outcome and then feeling frustrated when the other person doesn't perform how you expected they might.
Thursday, October 28th ~ Today is a busy day in the cosmos! We begin with the moon in its domicile in Cancer, squaring Mars at 2:01am EST before moving void of course. The morning is heated; we may feel fired up and creative. Poetry and other emotion-driven pursuits offer a cathartic release. At 5:07am EST the moon ingresses Leo. It then sextiles the North Node at 9:02am EST. While emotions continue to expand, we find we require an outside source to bounce them off. Sharing ideas or feelings with others proves to be more pleasant than it has been previously this week. Venus and Jupiter meet in sextile at 3:15pm EST, an extremely pleasant aspect that shines over the rest of the day and into tomorrow. We feel excited to shower others with affection, and more ready to receive it ourselves. Our aesthetic eye is enhanced, positively impacting our higher creativity. Later in the afternoon, the moon enters its Last Quarter as it squares the Sun at 4:05pm EST. This serves as a catalyst to finish a long standing project. Finally, the moon opposes Saturn at 7:02pm and trines Chiron at 11:41pm EST. These transits bring a sense of duty and accomplishment through seeing a job through to its completion.
Friday, October 29th ~ The moon is in dramatic Leo all day, and we find ourselves wanting to play. Too much seriousness can weigh heavier than normal. Let your inner child loose for the day. The moon squares Uranus this morning at 6:24am EST, which brings a need to break loose from routine and from our normal way of handling our problems. Later in the day the moon sextiles Mercury at 6:31pm EST. The energy for today is a bit like a court jester. Laughter truly is the best medicine! Give yourself permission to see things through the eyes of a silly little kid. We are coming off of the Venus/Jupiter trine from yesterday, still palpable through today. This is a beneficial aspect which brings a desire to open our hearts and show our love and appreciation to others. Creativity is a huge part of this transit as well. Surrounding yourself with bright colors, games, and switching up stagnant routines bring a breezy sense of possibility.
Saturday, October 30th ~ We have another active day celestially, with the moon in Leo to begin. The Leo moon opposes Jupiter at 12:23am and trines Venus at 3:04am EST, before moving void of course until the mid-afternoon. These morning transits bring a desire to connect with close friends and loved ones. Social activity is favored to spending time alone or in deep, ponderous thought. The Sun and Saturn meet in square at 5:53am EST, but we can feel this transit all day. This one brings a mounting sense of responsibility, but this comes with an equal feeling of wanting to buck our duties. We may oscillate between feeling like we need to get work done and then blowing it off. Mars ingresses Scorpio at 10:21am EST, a powerful and intense place for the planet of physicality and aggression to be. Mars will be here in the fixed water sign until December 13th. For this time, we may find our desire increased. Ambition is enhanced, as is sexual appetite. It is difficult to reach compromises during this time. An "all or nothing" mentality becomes the norm. This is an amazing time to push yourself to achieve things you never dreamed possible, but it can also make us feel more obsessive. Make sure you allow yourself time to rest, and take care to appreciate the things you've already accomplished. At 2:09pm EST, the moon's void ends as it ingresses Virgo. We then have two more transits as the moon sextiles Mars at 2:21pm and squares both the North and South Node at 5:45pm EST. We may feel pumped up and ready to go. A sense of internal pressure mounts; we want to work toward something big. The night brings less intensity and a desire to burn off physical energy.
Sunday, October 31st ~ Happy Halloween and Blessed Samhain! We have the moon in Virgo all day. This energy of mutable earth creates a deep need to connect with nature and the cycles of the planet. The moon enters its Waning Crescent phase at 4:57am EST, sextiling the Sun and setting us in motion toward the dark moon which will peak later this week. We may feel more in tune with the mysteries of the world and are able to see beyond the veil. This afternoon, the moon trines Uranus at 1:32pm EST, bringing in fresh inspiration and emotional shifts. The astrology is quite supportive of Halloween festivities, at least in the sense of honoring departed ancestors and connecting with all that lies beyond this world. The Virgo moon enjoys ceremony, making it a good time for a ritual, such as lighting a candle or sitting in meditation as the moon rises in the sky.
