Monday, October 18th ~ Two retrograde planets station direct today, beginning with Jupiter at 1:30am EST. Jupiter stationed retrograde on June 20th at 2 degrees Pisces, and traveled all the way back to 22 degrees Aquarius over this four month period. Jupiter's retrograde allows us space and time to work on breaking bad habits or reckless patterns of behavior. Now that Jupiter is direct, we may feel a renewed sense of enthusiasm; the tendency to leap before we look becomes stronger. It will take Jupiter until December 28th to make it back to Pisces. During this final two-month run in Aquarius (at least for the next 12 years), Jupiter highlights expanded possibilities for humanity and the betterment of society. Continuing on today, the moon ingresses Aries at 6:03am and later sextiles the North Node at 10:14am EST. Pushing ourselves to reach distant goals offers us focus and a container to put all the energy buzzing this week. Mercury stations direct at 11:16am EST and its retrograde officially ends at 10 degrees Libra. Mixed messages and unanswered signals begin to travel in appropriate directions. Any Libran retrograde always impacts our close relationships, and can leave room for misunderstandings. It's a good time to touch base with friends and loved ones; more clarity comes from the settling of Mercury's dust. We are making our way through the shadow of the retrograde until November 2nd, meaning Mercury will be retracing the steps it took during its retrograde. This brings an opportunity to clear away issues that arose during that time, and to see them with a higher perspective. Finally, the moon sextiles Saturn tonight at 7:14pm and Mars and Jupiter meet in trine at 10:36pm EST. This Mars/Jupiter energy has been building for a few days. Maybe you've had trouble sleeping, or feel restless. This is an exciting, exuberant transit that gets us amped up and ready to go. We are guided by a sense of exploration and wanting to jump into a new project. Physical energy increases and needs an outlet. The moon's sextile to Saturn tonight allows us to channel this energy into a disciplined, focused project.
Tuesday, October 19th ~ The moon is in Aries all day, with most of its activity happening before sunrise in the Eastern time zone. At 1:03am the moon conjuncts Chiron, then at 1:25am EST it opposes Mercury, newly direct in Libra. These transits allow for healing and bring emotional release and movement. We may feel more reactive. If you notice this is the case for you today, consider that something is trying to come out of you. Physical exercise can shake it loose, or journaling your thoughts could also work if that is something you enjoy. At 6:39am EST we have our last major aspect of the day as the moon trines Venus in Sagittarius. This is a harmonious transit that increases our ability to connect with others. Flirtations increase; the moon in Aries coupled with a trine to Venus makes us feed off the energy of teasing banter and jokes. The rest of the day is quiet but carries the Aries fire, burning brightly as it builds to tomorrow's Full Moon. We're still coasting off yesterday's Mars/Jupiter trine which we will continue to feel through Thursday. This amps us up and gets us excited to explore and dive into new things. It does create a sense of restlessness and possible wanderlust, maybe even "the grass is greener" type ideations. Allow yourself some space to explore and discover, woven into the patchwork of your daily routine.
Wednesday, October 20th ~ The day begins with the moon in Aries, growing toward peak fullness. Three early lunar aspects light the way, with the moon sextiling Jupiter at 12:58am, opposing Mars at 2:28am, and squaring Pluto at 4:55am EST. This creates a feeling of wanting to move in the direction of a goal, but encountering some resistance along the way. This serves as a catalyst which makes us double down on what we want. Many will rebel against whatever might try and stop them. Keep in mind that setbacks seem worse in the mind; these aspects bring a need to fight against an adversary so if one does not actually exist we will create one to overcome during the transits of today's sky. The Full Moon in Aries peaks at 10:56am EST, and then the moon moves void of course for several hours. This Full Moon initiates change and new beginnings. It connects with the macro moon cycle which began on April 11th, and represents a time of harvest and manifestation related to intentions set on that date. The Aries cycle typically correlates with self-transformation, confidence, and our attitude and belief about what we are capable of accomplishing. The moon is void of course until 3:58am EST when it ingresses Taurus. The rest of the day is quiet and provides ample time for these vibrations to be fully integrated.
Thursday, October 21st ~ We have a pretty simple day celestially, with only two major aspects taking place. The moon is in Taurus all day. During Taurean moons we seek out comfort in both physical and emotional arenas. It is harder to push ourselves into new and terribly exciting vistas. The moon squares Saturn this morning at 5:44am EST, meaning we may feel the weight of responsibility but at the same time want to turn away from it and do something more enjoyable. This is like a pendulum swaying back and forth - one minute we feel the need to buckle down and accomplish our task, and the next we reject it and want to rest or play. Later in the day, the moon conjuncts Uranus at 6:27pm EST. This brings oscillating moods and sudden flashes of emotional clarity. Intuition flashes down on us randomly, but bringing total clarity for a moment at a time.
Friday, October 22nd ~ The moon is in Taurus all day, digging its heels in and behaving in a rather stubborn manner today. Mars and Pluto meet in exact square this morning at 12:19am EST, which we have been feeling for a couple days and will continue to experience through the weekend. The exact meeting of these planets can create obsessive thoughts and a rather desperate need to conquer or be the hero of a particular situation. Confrontations and fights increase when these planets square; people have a harder time controlling their instincts when they feel provoked. It is not a fun transit but does offer some necessary healing. Ultimately the higher gift of this transit is in directing this intense energy. You can't bottle it up or hide it because that is where the issues arise. The best way to work with it is to give it a place to flow. Working on ambitions, goals, or projects is probably the easiest thing here. Motivation is at an all-time high because we are so focused on proving ourselves during this aspect. The moon sextiles Neptune at 9:26am, squares Jupiter at 12:31pm and then trines Pluto at 4:35pm EST before moving void of course for the rest of the day. These transits increase imagination and belief in what is possible. They are helpful in guiding the intensity of the Mars/Pluto transit.
Saturday, October 23rd ~ Happy Scorpio season! The Sun ingresses Scorpio this morning at 12:51am EST, and we enter the time where the light of day is dwindling into greater darkness, and the veil is at its thinnest. Scorpio is fixed water, rooted in deep emotion and focused on unlocking the doors to inner mystery. There is better access to the shadow realm and the furthest reaches of the psyche during Scorpio season. The moon enters Gemini this morning at 3:57am EST, expanding our curiosity and mental acuity. The moon then conjuncts the North Node at 7:47am EST, aligning us with an opportunity to move toward our destiny. This karmic unfoldment may feel somewhat scary, because it requires us to go in an entirely new direction. This previously untrodden path offers fulfilment down the line. The moon trines Saturn at 6:11pm and then sextiles Chiron at 11:45pm EST. These transits calm a roving mind and provide some discipline and focus. Emotional healing comes through talks with others; even seemingly silly and playful conversation allows for a greater sense of confidence and connection.
Sunday, October 24th ~ We have the moon in mercurial Gemini all day. The Gemini moon loves to ruminate on multiple subjects at once, and has a difficult time quieting down or focusing on one thing at a time. The moon trines Mercury at 6:16am EST, which exaggerates these tendencies. We may be excited to learn something new today, or to dive into a hobby which activates our brains and our hunger for knowledge. The moon then opposes Venus at 5:42pm and squares Neptune at 10:13pm EST. These transits send us down a rabbit hole of information. We may feel impatient or distracted if forced to focus on things that aren't particularly exciting to us right now. Allow yourself the gift of discovery. Even if it feels like what you're exploring isn't particularly important, there is a greater reason your curiosity is leading you there. Whether it results in inspiration for later, knowledge which helps someone out eventually, or even just bringing you simple joy, there is always a reason for it.
