Monday, April 4th ~ The day begins with the moon in Taurus, squaring Mars at 7:09am, sextiling Jupiter at 7:29am, and squaring Saturn at 7:57am EST. This series of aspects creates a somewhat busy, hectic energy. We may feel like escaping responsibilities in favor of more enjoyable pursuits. The moon continues its active day by conjuncting the North Node at 9:04am and sextiling Neptune at 10:36am EST. Daydreams enter in and allow us to begin visualizing our ideal circumstances. Later in the day, the moon trines Pluto at 7:59pm EST which enhances our ability to focus and see below the surface level of a situation. Mars and Saturn meet in conjunction at 9:51pm EST in the sign of Aquarius. This transit has been building all day and will continue to be felt for the next few days. The effect of these two planets meeting slows down outward action, and can make progress feel a bit more gradual than we would like. While impatience might arise, keep in mind that this transit does improve the quality of the work we produce during this time. "Slow and steady wins the race" might be the perfect idiom to describe a Mars/Saturn conjunction! Finally, the moon squares Venus at 9:52pm and then goes void of course for a little over an hour, until it enters Gemini at 11:04pm EST. We might wish for some quiet time to decompress after such a whirlwind of a day. Once the moon is in Gemini, stubbornness lets up a bit and we begin to feel more intrigued by situations which push us out of our comfort zone.
Tuesday, April 5th ~ The moon is in airy Gemini all day, increasing curiosity and playfulness. We fly through emotions in a fast-paced way, and may enjoy talking about feelings in a more objective manner. Venus enters Pisces at 11:17am EST today, where it will be until May 2nd. Here, romance and fantasy walk hand in hand. This magical placement for Venus calls to mind elaborate castles and royal suitors who will whisk you away on the back of a white horse. Imagination enters in and allows for more expansive creativity. We could tend to look at relationships of all sorts through rosy glasses this month, choosing to see only the sides which please us. Later in the day, Mars squares the North Node of the moon at 2:48pm EST. This transit has been palpable in the air for the past couple days and will continue to be felt through the rest of the week. This slows down outer progress; coupled with yesterday's Mars/Saturn conjunction we might feel like we are stuck in quicksand and watching the world pass by. Remember that the gifts of these transits include giving us time to reconsider and hone our desires. Taking impulsive action could lead to regret, and this is the perfect time to slow down our movements and get very intentional about the next step.
Wednesday, April 6th ~ The moon is in Gemini for another full day of cosmic motion. The moon sextiles Chiron at 12:15am and then sextiles the Sun at 8:31am EST to usher in its Waxing Crescent phase. As more light begins to reach the moon, we feel invigorated and seek to bring in self-initiated change. The Chiron transit allows us to heal mental blocks and gently release thought patterns which are inhibiting our progress. The moon goes through a whole series of transits later on: it sextiles Mercury at 5:56pm, trines Saturn at 8:26pm, squares Jupiter at 8:41pm, squares Neptune at 10:53pm and trines Mars at 11:14pm before moving void of course until tomorrow. We are likely to feel quite motivated during this portion of the day, and will have many ideas buzzing around in our minds. The biggest issue is finding the focus to get started. It could be just as good to brainstorm and get inspired, rather than forcing ourselves to dive into action without a gameplan.
Thursday, April 7th ~ Today begins with the Gemini moon void of course, which opens up various rabbit holes. We are likely feeling extra curious today and would enjoy researching a subject which tickles our brain and brings along a sense of intrigue. Mercury sextiles Saturn today at 8:37am EST, though we feel this transit throughout the entire day. This is a great aspect for having important conversations, as we can cut through the extraneous details and get right down to business. Keep in mind it is not an emotional transit, and will not soften our words or allow for added compassion. It will make our conversations direct and clear and is good for business talks or any communication that requires us to be upfront. The moon's void period ends at 11:30am EST when it ingresses Cancer. In the sign of its domicile, the moon is happy here and brings along a feeling of expanded emotional capacity. The moon then trines Venus at 4:19pm EST, which harmonizes intimate relationships and makes us feel more tender and open.
Friday, April 8th ~ The moon is in watery Cancer all day, making us more sensitive and aware of our emotions. The big transit for the day comes at 4:20am EST as Jupiter sextiles the North Node. This has been building all week and will continue to be felt until next week. This is the first wave as we move toward next Tuesday's Jupiter/Neptune conjunction, a rare cosmic event. Today's Jupiter action brings luck and expansion. We are being guided in the direction of our karmic calling, and doors open for us. All we need to do is maintain an attitude of openness and faith. If something is not working out, consider if it is the direction you are really meant to move in. The moon squares Chiron at 1:20pm EST which allows for deep healing, but can be a bit uncomfortable as it exposes insecurities. However, these must be seen so they can be released. Mercury and Mars meet in sextile at 2:18pm EST, which allows for thought that leads to action. Conversations bring progress and results can be seen when we ask for what we need. Finally, the moon sextiles Uranus at 2:27pm EST which enhances imagination and could make us more spontaneous than usual.
Saturday, April 9th ~ The Sun squares the Cancer Moon at 2:47am EST, ushering in its First Quarter. The First Quarter acts as a catalyst and gets us revved up and ready to take action. It often brings a restless energy and fiery feel. Even with the moon in Cancer, we are apt to feel this sensation. The moon continues on to sextile the North Node at 10:02am, trine Jupiter at 10:36am and trine Neptune at 11:46am EST. This series of transits is all very positive and allows us to dream big and feel an increased level of confidence that we can achieve what we set our mind to. Later, the moon squares Mercury at 7:25pm and opposes Pluto at 9:01pm EST before moving void of course for almost three hours. These transits could make us a bit argumentative if we feel someone is blocking our progress. The moon's void ends at 11:59pm EST as it enters Leo. The void period is good for jotting down feelings in the form of poetry, journaling, song composition, or other self-expressive forms of writing.
Sunday, April 10th ~ The moon is in Leo all day, making us feel things in a big way. We will want to share our inner world with others, be it through creative expression or through sharing our feelings and showering those we love with affection and compliments. Mercury squares Pluto today at 4:45am EST, though this is palpable for most of the day. This transit can make us a bit suspicious of others' motives, and will keep our minds scanning the environment for clues, almost like a private investigator. While it can be helpful for observation and discerning information, it can also make us look for problems where none exist. If you find it is causing you any distress, try playing a game or doing a puzzle that will allow your brain to get that energy out without it affecting your personal life. Mercury enters Taurus later in the day at 10:09pm EST, softening the feeling of that earlier transit. Mercury will be here until April 29th. Here, thinking becomes more down to earth and present. It is easier to observe details around us and to communicate in a clearer, more polite manner. This transit brings ease to singers and those who express using their voice.
