Weekly Forecast: 4/17/23 through 4/23/23

Monday, April 17th ~ Today starts with the Pisces moon sextiling Uranus at 12:24am EST, bringing in surprises in our dreams. You may find something is revealed to you through a dream, meditation, or in quiet moments. There are likely to be many internal revelations happening throughout the day. The moon conjuncts Neptune at 2:56pm EST, which deepens our connection to the unknown and all that lies in our subconscious. The moon moves void of course from 2:57pm until it moves into Aries at 9:09pm EST. At this point, we feel a surge of energy and a desire to move in a direction that is all our own. The moon sextiles Pluto at 9:41pm EST, gradually waning as we head toward Thursday's New Moon. This is a powerful transit which allows us to step into our confidence and assert ourselves if need be.

Tuesday, April 18th ~ The moon is in passionate, bold Aries all day, allowing us to burn through emotions quicker and charge ourselves up to take action. The moon sextiles Venus at 11:46am EST, which encourages creative flow and collaboration with others. We are typically more impatient with the moon in Aries, but this contact with Venus allows for a more gentle expression. The moon goes on to square Mars later at 6:16pm EST which deepens our frustration with all that is slow moving. We could get restless and need an outlet to let off steam and building energy. There are no further transits today; both today and tomorrow provide a somewhat blank canvas leading up to Thursday's busier celestial happenings.

Wednesday, April 19th ~ We have a second full day with the moon in Aries. Physical activity can be extremely helpful in allowing us to work out emotions. The charge and release of kinetic movement will aid in moving stagnant feelings out of the body. The moon conjuncts Chiron at 1:24am EST which turns our attention to healing. We are able to work through guilt and shame today; if you notice these feelings coming to the surface, ask them what they are here to show you rather than trying to push them down. It can be useful to go for a walk or do a more spirited exercise with the intention of addressing these sensations. The moon later conjuncts Jupiter at 1:26pm EST which is a more fun and playful transit. This brings expanded optimism and the ability to see beauty and possibility around us. Adventures and breaks from routine are recommended. This is the best day to communicate with others this week; Mercury retrograde begins on Friday, and tomorrow is loaded with intense transits. Reach out and iron out details with others now, if you are able.

Thursday, April 20th ~ Today is the busiest astrological day of the week, beginning with the New Moon/Hybrid Solar Eclipse in Aries at 12:12am EST. This is the second Aries New Moon of this Aries season, which makes its properties extra intense. The firepower and pioneer spirit of Aries is directed internally, allowing us to make sudden decisions and push back against all efforts to control or hamper our spirits. The hybrid eclipse is a rarer form that shifts back and forth between annular and total, meaning if you are able to view this eclipse that you will see an undulating 'ring of fire' around the moon. It will be visible in Australia and Indonesia. The last time we had a hybrid solar eclipse was in November 2013, making this a fairly unique occurrence. The energy of the moon and all it represents will be most important today, as this blocks out the external personality of the sun. We are encouraged to lean into our intuition and connection to the unknown today. The moon is void of course for a very brief window, from 12:13am until it ingresses Taurus at 12:29am EST. It then squares Pluto at 1:04am EST, which can exaggerate stubbornness. It will be nearly impossible to get others to do so something they don't want to do today. The Sun moves into Taurus at 4:13am EST and Taurus season is officially upon us! What a potent day to begin this period of fixed earth. Taurus season is opulent and sensual and encourages us to ground into nature and the body. We may resist change and prefer to move a bit slower. The moon conjuncts the North Node at 7:30am and sextiles Saturn at 8:30am EST. Determination of spirit guides us today, and we follow an internal compass that cannot be easily guided by others. Later, the Sun squares Pluto at 12:27pm EST which creates a strong urge to overcome challenges and show our self worth through defeating adversaries. In general, the day's energy is bold and spirited but independent and unyielding. Much can be accomplished in regards to self care and personal goals, but collaborations and forced teamwork may result in arguments and stalemates.

Friday, April 21st ~ The moon is in Taurus all day, providing grounding and a need for comfort to come through music, art, and interactions with nature. The moon sextiles Mars at 12:36am and conjuncts Mercury at 4:05am EST. We are charged up and energetic, and most will be more talkative than usual. Mercury stations retrograde at 15 degrees Taurus at 4:34am EST, lasting until May 14th. This three week retrograde encourages us to slow down and sit with something before making a decision. Rushing ourselves will only create problems that we need to untangle later on. Ask for extensions, and don't hurry your mind. Avoid overloads of caffeine and other stimulants, and make sure you are getting enough rest. The moon conjuncts Uranus at 8:09am EST which allows us to view emotional problems from a somewhat removed place. Our feelings could shift rapidly as a result. Later, the moon sextiles Neptune at 11:41pm EST, which expands imagination and connects us to melody and harmony. Listen to your favorite music tonight to get carried away. The moon then moves void of course until tomorrow morning, allowing for deep rest if we should take the opportunity.

Saturday, April 22nd ~ The moon is void of course until 6:10am EST when it enters Gemini. Gemini moons invoke our curiosity and broaden the mind to take in an array of stimuli at once. With Mercury currently retrograde, this could result in overload if we don't take breaks to recalibrate. The moon trines Pluto at 6:48am EST, which allows for transformation to come through facing a fear. The moon squares Saturn later at 2:59pm EST which could result in us wanting to shirk a responsibility, or perhaps someone in your life dropping the ball. You may find with some time that this person (or yourself) will change their mind and come around once they have some time to breathe and reconsider.

Sunday, April 23rd ~ The moon is in airy, versatile Gemini all day, bringing curiosity and a need to soak up new information. The moon conjuncts Venus at 8:43am EST, and we find ourselves wanting to tap into the news going on around us, particularly in regard to friends and family. We could also feel creatively inspired but might struggle to narrow our focus to work on just one thing. The moon sextiles Chiron at 1:47pm EST, which allows for healing to come through communication and open talks with a trusted confidante. Mercury sextiles Mars at 11:19pm EST. With Mercury currently retrograde, this introduces a sense of urgency around making our minds up about something. We may struggle to choose but feel we must choose nonetheless. It is advised to sleep on the decision if you can, as Taurus Mercury Rx is not supportive of rushed decision making. Weigh your options, ask around, and burn off the impulsivity with some stretching or other exercise if you can't get your mind off it.
