Monday, November 27th ~ The moon perfects in fullness in the sign of Gemini at 4:16am EST on Monday, November 27th. The domain of Gemini is a sparkling, curious place that seeks to understand and explore topics on a mental level. This is one of the more extroverted Full Moons and suggests that in order to understand our own emotions, we have to move out of theoretical exploration and begin to take action. The Sun in Sagittarius casts its full light on the surface of the moon, and illuminates our emotional experience through motivation to move and expand. Both signs are after knowledge, though Gemini prefers to receive it through communication with others and through research and study, while Sagittarius would rather receive it firsthand through action and living. Neither way is right or wrong, and we can all benefit from a healthy dose of each approach. On this Full Moon, we understand our emotions more by exploring the world around us and really engaging with it. The Full Moon perfects at the 4th degree of Gemini, considered a more mutable, go-with-the-flow placement for any planetary body. The more we try to force understanding through turning a problem over and over in our minds, the less is revealed. We manifest change through catapulting forward and improvising, using the adventurous spirit of the Sagittarius Sun to guide us.
Wednesday, November 29th ~ Venus moves into a conjunction with the South Node of the Moon on Wednesday, November 29th at 12:16pm EST. The South Node is a point on the moon's elliptical orbit, where it is the closest to Earth during its 28 day cycle. As the points of this orbit shift, the North and South Nodes move gradually back through the zodiac as well. Venus and the South Node meet at 24 degrees Libra, connecting us to romantic memory and connections that extend deep through a spiraling history of lifetimes. We could feel drawn to reminisce, or find partners from the past reaching out for connection. Past life recollections appear in dreams, visions, impressions of feeling. We could also find creative ideas coming back around again, threads that were once dropped that we might pull back through the needle's eye. Something to remember: the South Node represents all that we have mastered, and the things our soul has completed. While it can be helpful to complete unfinished projects or gain closure from these past connections, there is likely very little new ground we can gain here. Work through the lens of healing, rather than rekindling old fires.
Friday, December 1st ~ Mercury enters Capricorn at 9:31am EST on Friday, December 1st. This is the location of the upcoming retrograde, in this place of steady, intentional communication and words free from frills. The retrograde starts in a little less than two weeks, and will send Mercury back into Sagittarius for a brief time before it re-enters the domain of Capricorn until the first week of February. More on the retrograde later. Mercury in Capricorn is a dry, witty place for the planet of communication. It brings along the kind of deadpan humor that sneaks up on you and disarms you. There is a plodding and methodical manner to the energy here, as everything is quite deliberate. Over the next few weeks, you may find it more productive to use less wordy analogies in speech and stay as linear and logical as you can, especially if you find frequent misunderstandings popping up. There is power and command here, and freedom in saying exactly what you mean. Those with natal Mercury in earth signs (Taurus, Virgo, and Capricorn) and water sign Scorpio will have the most ease here.
Sunday, December 3rd ~ Venus in Libra squares Pluto in Capricorn at 8:29am EST on Sunday, December 3rd. This friction in cardinal signs creates an uneven power dynamic in relationships and creeping unease. Some experience an obsession with getting the upper hand. Issues of envy creep in and choke like tendrils of ivy spreading across a building. This transit is rooted in feelings of insecurity and reveals how we hide behind others' views of us to mask this. When the other retreats or wavers in their adoration, we feel powerless, scared, or unworthy. We can see this dynamic play out in romantic relationships, friendships, or any close, intimate connection. The key here is to meet the feeling with awareness. Recognize that a cold place in the heart can temporarily be warmed by another's flame, but can only blaze eternal when lit from within. To covet or obsess over another's fire is a futile game, because we have no control over it. Try as we might, we can't keep it with us every moment of the day. It is only through fostering self love and returning warmth back to the heart space that we can soften this sensation.
