Monday, December 4th ~ Venus enters the domain of Scorpio on Monday, December 4th at 1:50pm EST. It will be here in this sign until December 29th. Venus is considered in its detriment in the sign of Scorpio, meaning the energies are somewhat subdued and the full Venusian flair is diminished. Scorpio is deep, dark, and mystical. Here our romantic inclinations tend to be more intimate, private, and sensual. Trust is the most important component to Scorpio, and so our relationships are filtered through this lens over the next few weeks. Those with mutual trust will be given the most attention, while we naturally drift away from those we don't feel safe being vulnerable with. Those with natal Venus in water signs (Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces) and earth signs Virgo and Capricorn tend to enjoy this period best and receive a creative boost. Venus will enter a trine with Saturn tomorrow, suggesting we aim to deepen our commitment to others and show our loyalty.
Wednesday, December 6th ~ Neptune stations direct on Wednesday, December 6th at 8:22am EST. This is a bit like a fog lifting and clearing around us. This retrograde started on June 30th, which is a typical length of time as Neptune normally spends around 5 months of the year in retrograde. During Neptune Rx we are suspended in the mist. We have to rely more on our intuition and muscle memory to get where we're going. If we depend too much on our five senses, we can easily get turned around if we are not also in touch with our intuitive faculties. Now that this fog is rolling away, we can become more acclimated with our position in life. We could experience added clarity and have more of an idea of how to get to our goals. However, it is always useful to keep using our intuition and exercise it like a muscle. The stronger it is, the easier the next Neptune retrograde period will be in 2024. Neptune is currently at 24 degrees Pisces, traversing the last several degrees of the sign throughout the next year. We won't see Neptune enter Aries until 2025, but this will be a huge shift as the planet has not been here since 1875.
Thursday, December 7th ~ On Thursday, December 7th we have two major transits. The Sun trines Chiron at 7:11pm EST, and Mercury trines Jupiter at 11:08pm EST. The trine between the Sun and Chiron assists in bringing healing to our self-confidence. Areas where we feel a bit timid or shy will receive the warming glow of the Sun upon them and allow for more self love and acceptance. This is a good time to help build up our friends and family, making it easier for them to see all the wonderful things about them. Later, the trine between Mercury and Jupiter allows for conversation to flow and sparkle. Ideas are abundant and we feel more generous with our time and attention. This is quite a social day that invites us to mingle with others and get inspired.
Saturday, December 9th ~ Venus opposes Jupiter at 10:34pm EST on Saturday, December 9th. The fixed opposition of Venus newly in Scorpio and Jupiter in earth sign Taurus creates a stubborn feeling, especially when it comes to getting work done or doing things which are deemed unenjoyable. The prevailing energy of this transit centers around relaxation, fun, and socialization. Taking the day off in favor of more playful pursuits is encouraged, as we are more likely to skip over small details or be a bit careless in our work. The world is full of beautiful, inviting things and we want to be out there indulging in all of them. This transit has a tendency toward gluttony of the senses, or overspending in pursuit of lavish experiences. We will likely feel this energy carrying over into Sunday. As always, bring awareness in. Sleep on that expensive purchase, and see if you still feel the same excitement over it tomorrow. Enjoy yourself but still get enough rest. Oppositions call for us to find balance, and walk the line between the pleasant parts of the transit without teetering into the more extreme side of it.
