Tuesday, December 12th ~ The New Moon in Sagittarius perfects at 6:32pm EST on Tuesday, December 12th. This is a more social, expansive new moon that urges us to communicate our emotions through action. The more we do, the more we state who we are to the world at large. We can reach others on a deeper level by showing up as consistent and authentic. This moon allows us to manifest changes surrounding friendships. You may notice shifts happening in your social circle, or could feel a strong need to make new connections which are more appropriate for your current energy. The moon will be at 20 degrees Sagittarius, in the third decan which is ruled by the Sun. This suggests that we are beginning to shed parts of our ego which serve as defensive strategies or a mask to hide our true self from the world. The Sagittarius Sun desires exploration and supports us diving into the things we wish to try, while the Sagittarius moon brings a lightness and ability to work through emotions in a playful, busy way. As today is the last day before Mercury retrograde begins, it is an ideal day to back up files and work with technology.
Wednesday, December 13th ~ Mercury stations retrograde on Wednesday, December 13th at 2:09am EST. It will be in the sign of Capricorn for the first portion of the retrograde, and will slip back into Sagittarius on December 23rd for the remainder. There is the capacity to be misunderstood during the first half of retrograde, or feel as though your intentions are not fully being grasped. We can feel somewhat cloudy in terms of connecting to others, and will need to be more engaged and present in conversations to mitigate this level of distraction. The dry wit of Capricorn engages with the curiosity of Mercury to place more of an emphasis on humor, though the retrograde motion of the planet can cause these jokes to not land or not be detected. The best way to navigate this first half of retrograde is to pay attention! Be present and observant, and you will likely mitigate the more negative effects of this period. You may also find some humor to lift your spirits. This is a good 10 day period to finish up old projects or work related tasks. Those with planets in the first 10 degrees of Cancer, Libra, Capricorn and Aries will need to put more of an effort into staying present and aware.
Friday, December 15th ~ We have two major transits today; the first sees the Sun in Sagittarius trining the North Node of the Moon in Aries at 12:35am EST. This transit is noticeable all day long, and allows new opportunities to open up for us. We have a chance to do something that pushes us out of our cushy comfort zone and into unexplored territory. There is a deep calling from this direction, almost like an ethereal voice that is calling your name from somewhere beyond. Now is the time to act, as luck is on your side and there is little cosmic interference. This is coupled with a trine between Mars and Chiron which happens at 5:54pm EST. We will feel this transit through the weekend. It allows for action which brings healing. Moving the body allows us to slough off old, stagnant energy and feelings. We expand into newness and acclimate to the positive change. Two fire trines in one day is akin to setting off a sparkling firework into the sky. There is an explosion of action and colorful shifts which change our perception. This weekend brings new possibilities into the forefront of our perception.
Saturday, December 16th ~ The Sun squares Neptune on Saturday, December 16th at 10:43pm EST. This transit builds up throughout the day and can continue to be felt on Sunday. A mutable square between the Sagittarius Sun and Neptune in Pisces creates some confusion over personal identity. The changes which began to be implemented during yesterday's transits brought significant shifts. Here we may need to adjust our beliefs about self and what we are capable of becoming. Stretch your perception wider. Just because you weren't able to do something in the past should not limit your future. You have changed; you are different now. You have access to more tools and knowledge than you once did. This is a good day to meet with your confusion, your disbelief, and your limiting viewpoints. Engage with them and then begin to expand beyond. There is so much more waiting out there, and you deserve to receive it.
