Monday, February 5th ~ Monday, February 5th is one of our busiest celestial days this week. We start with Mercury entering Aquarius at 12:10am EST to kick off the day's energy. Mercury in Aquarius is idealistic, imaginative, and grandiose in its vision. We can stretch ideas to their highest expression during this time and have some powerful brainstorming sessions with friends and colleagues. Communication can be a bit more whimsical and out there, as many lean into the more rebellious nature of this transit. This can leave some treating deadlines and rules in a pretty loose fashion. Mercury will be here until February 23rd.
.
At 6:49am EST, Venus squares Chiron. This is a somewhat jarring transit that can bring relationship insecurities to the forefront. Remember that there is usually a link to the past with Chiron transits. It can be important to bring in awareness of this, as some of the things which are triggering us now are more rooted in the past rather than anything that is currently going on. The Sun sextiles Chiron at 7:27am EST which colors this dynamic in further. This allows for more of a chance to break through guilt and shame and be more open and upfront with our thoughts and feelings. We can use this combination of Chiron transits to be vulnerable with loved ones about these past hurts and use it to strengthen both our own confidence and the bonds of the relationship.
.
Finally, Mercury conjuncts Pluto at 7:57am EST. All these transits before 8am! This is a potent aspect which allows for deeper concentration and focus. We can have a one track mind when it comes to a passion project or something which grabs the attention. This transit allows for us to dig deeper, investigate, and notice things which we might normally miss.
Wednesday, February 7th ~ On Wednesday, February 7th, we start the day's transits with a trine between Venus and Uranus at 4:25pm EST. We feel a pull to try new things; jump into a new hobby, explore a new place with a loved one, and stretch away from the predictable. This transit can often usher in new love connections, or bring a sense of fun and excitement to those that are more established.
.
At 7:19pm EST, Mars sextiles Neptune. This transit has been building since the start of the week and will be felt until the weekend. Our action takes on a more intuitive quality. There may not be as much forethought and planning done as we let our bodies move naturally and flow in the direction of our intention. This is a compassionate, healing aspect that can soften the harsher edges of Mars and bring more direction and impulse to the lackadaisical nature of Neptune. In my opinion, it is one of the more positive examples of teamwork between planets. Each is able to bring out the best in the other.
.
Tomorrow, the 8th, we have a square between the Sun and Uranus at 5:45am EST which can bring some stubbornness and a need to break free from authority. Keep this in mind today as we will feel it building in strength as the day turns to night.
Friday, February 9th ~ The New Moon in Aquarius perfects at 5:59pm EST on Friday, February 9th. This is the quietest, most inward time of the lunar month. We may feel more solitary, or more easily drained by social interactions. Aquarian energy in the inward space looks like far reaching ideas, daydreams, and visions of the future. Our mental space is activated as we superimpose these ideals upon the landscape around us. We can feel more motivated to take charge and bring change to the world. This New Moon takes place squaring Uranus at the 20th degree of Aquarius, in the third decan which is ruled by Venus. The square to Uranus adds a more rebellious, free-spirited energy to an already independent Aquarian moon. Here we can feel frustrated by impositions on our time and space. We can struggle if we approach things too emotionally today. The Venusian flavor of this decan of Aquarius brings a bit more softness to a somewhat yang heavy energy flow. This opens up the creative portals of the mind and can allow for unique, imaginative ideas to enter in. This New Moon corresponds with the Lunar New Year, happening tomorrow in the Western hemisphere.
Saturday, February 10th ~ Happy Lunar New Year! The Lunar New Year corresponds with the lunisolar calendar, the new year of which is celebrated on the second new moon following the winter solstice in the Northern hemisphere. This brings an energy of newness and signifies the coming of spring. This Lunar New Year is the year of the Wood Dragon; the last time we had a Wood Dragon year was in 1964. Some themes that correspond with this time include: talent, enterprise, action, progress, and environmentalism.
.
Today, Mercury squares Jupiter at 8:25am EST. This activates the mind and gets it excited by all the stimuli around us, but can make it difficult to focus. We chatter away and spin with all the anticipation, but can find it hard to ground in and relax. Generally speaking, it is mostly an enjoyable transit, as it does make it easier to feel optimistic and to find your sense of humor leading the way.
