Apologies for getting this up so late! I also have been doing more research on Egyptian astrology and so have renamed a few of the mansions. This has been keeping me pretty busy! I accidentally translated some of the hieroglyphs wrong originally, oops. I will make a post at some point with information on each mansion and the god or goddess that represents it.
Friday, July 24th - Day begins in Mansion of Hathor / Enters Mansion of Khepri at 3pm EST
The day starts off with the Scorpio moon squaring Mercury. Secrets and deception are themes for the day. It is all about getting to the bottom of issues, even if others throw up curves at every turn. The moon trines Neptune this afternoon, adding to the idea of illusion. The moon in Scorpio always brings up what is hidden and what is on the surface. Scorpio are master secret keepers, and they are skilled at getting information. When the moon is in this sign we all seek to acquire knowledge about others and (perhaps unconsciously) filter through what we should share openly. Mercury sextiles the North Node at 6:38pm EST. We are driven to discuss our purpose with someone close to us, and often this involves getting down to the heart of the matter. While illusions abound at the start of the day, the Mercury/NN sextile gives us a chance to connect with another person in a way that is full of clarity. The moon moves into the Mansion of Khepri at 3pm EST. (See last week's forecast to read about Hathor, where the moon is until then.) Khepri was the god of scarab beetles. This mansion represents the underground. Khepri was a solar deity but was considered inferior to Ra. During the remainder of the day and before 5pm tomorrow, we will be reminded to complete our 'underground' work before moving above. The downsides of this mansion are discord and revenge, which the ancients believed were prevalent on this day of the month. The positive side is that we are able to do good work both internally and on our own. There is also a great opportunity to rise above any feelings of vengeance or chaos that we may be feeling. Some cultures consider this mansion to represent love and feeling, which I think is the ultimate act of 'rising above'.
Saturday, July 25th - Day begins in Mansion of Khepri / Enters Mansion of Ma'at at 5pm EST
The moon sextiles Pluto shortly after midnight, which creates intense emotion surrounding possessions, both real and perceived. This could extend to the material things in your life or to your attachment to people. Venus retrograde hits at 5:25am EST. Any retrograde is an act of unfinished business. Whatever hasn't been tied up or addressed by you is going to come back with force. The thing you have to remember is that retrogrades don't cause problems or drama. They only show you what you have not dealt with in your life. A lot of people like to blame them for anything that goes wrong (and with 5-6 retrogrades going right now, there is probably a lot coming up). This is a bit like cleaning your room by shoving everything into your closet and getting mad at it when it falls out on top of you later. Venus retrograde will bring back any romantic blocks from your past and make you deal with them. Often you run into exes or people from the past. This doesn't mean you will return to former lovers or have a fight with someone you are currently dating (although that could also happen). You will just need to start looking at your feelings and how they are impacting you at present. That is really all there is to remember. I'll talk more about Venus as specific days trigger it. It will be the most intense for Virgos, Capricorns and Tauruses. Today is also quite emotional because of the Mars/Uranus square that hits right after the retrograde motion of Venus starts. Sudden outbursts of feeling or of physical movement could happen. Much of this will lighten as the day goes on. There is a grand water trine this afternoon from about 2pm EST until early evening, involving the moon, Mars and Chiron. Talk about emotions! Trines are quite positive and allow harmony and the natural flow of pleasant energy. We can tackle things during this trine that we might not have been able to earlier. Maybe we can access things that have been preventing us from being happy. It's a good time for meditating, reading or quiet reflection. The moon enters the Mansion of Ma'at at about 5pm EST. Ma'at was the goddess of balance and justice. There is a need to seek out the truth just like yesterday, but here we are able to begin applying empathy and reach out to others. So much can be seen today. It's an excellent time to begin using your intuition. Ma'at weighed the hearts of the dead to see who would be granted access to the underworld. She was not a punisher; she just saw the truth of a person's soul. This is the message for the day. Do not inflict punishment on others for their actions, instead view them in their entirety and seek out the truth.
Sunday, July 26th - Day begins in Mansion of Ma'at / Enters Mansion of Seshat at 4pm EST
Today is incredibly active astrologically. This morning the moon squares Jupiter shortly before the Sun sextiles the North Node. Opportunities come along to bring us closer to goals. Some people may be offered jobs today or will start towards something that will shift the path they are on. Moon square Jupiter will create an intense need to expand and connect with others. Mars reaches an exact trine with Chiron this morning. Some of yesterday's grand trine energy will continue over into this morning. Mars and Chiron give energy to healing work, relaxation and any holistic practice. The moon conjuncts Saturn before moving void of course at 5:15am EST. Ritual and ceremony are important today, as is focus. We can apply laser focus as we work towards new goals today. Uranus retrograde hits at 6:39am EST. Now six planets and luminaries are in retrograde! Please read yesterday's forecast for my take on this. Uranus retrograde will slow some things down and force us to complete old tasks before we can start new ones. This doesn't mean you need to spend tons of time doing things you've outgrown, but you will at least need to clean up loose ends. Technology could be affected by this retrograde as well, but it will be less communication-oriented tech and more things of an electrical or light related manner. The moon comes out of its void at 8:25am EST and enters Sagittarius. It immediately squares Venus, giving us a need to work on things alone rather than with a partner. So, take a look at this entire paragraph so far. All of this happens before 9am! There are so many transits that it will be hard to pinpoint feelings today because they are going to shift so quickly. The afternoon sees a moon/North Node sextile and a Moon/Sun trine. These are pleasant transits that give way to adventure and positive thinking, particularly for Sagittarius, Libra, Aries and Leo. Tonight the moon trines Mercury, which brings easy communication, particularly about theoretical things and philosophy. The moon moves into the Mansion of Seshat at 4pm EST. This is the mansion of vision. Seshat was the goddess of writing and measurement, and when the moon is in her mansion, we have a strong need to communicate our creative vision. Writing is of course favored today, as are all creative pursuits. The ancients believed it to be a good day for taming animals and for the redistribution of wealth. The only advice for the day is to not get too concerned with the hows. Don't worry about how you should get your message across, or how people will react when they see it. Simply act and let all the rest fall into place. Giving too much attention to anything else will tamper with your vision.
Monday, July 27th - Day begins in Mansion of Seshat / Enters Mansion of Ra-Horakhty at 6pm EST
The moon squares Neptune early this morning. Ideas and fantasies could get carried away a bit, and have no basis in reality. There is a need to flee from what is perceived to be true, and this could see a lot of people (particularly Sagittarius, Aries and Leo) leaving behind responsibilities or going off to find themselves. Most of the day is spent with no major aspects, leaving us to expand our minds and enjoy a bit of Sagittarian lightness. Mercury and Neptune are in quincunx at 7:06pm EST. This aspect creates a disconnect between communication and the collective consciousness or our ability to empathize with others. There is a lot being said but nothing that really draws larger connections. Fantasizing is again the theme this evening. Daydreams take root and many will get swept away in them. The moon trines Uranus and squares Chiron tonight. Impulsive choices for evening plans are likely. Don't try to go too deep in serious thought tonight, or address any of the retrograde issues that are coming up. Healing isn't favored. You could have more luck by going out and learning through new experiences. Go out into nature if possible. The moon enters the Mansion of Ra-Horakhty at 6pm EST. This is the realm of meaning. Meaning and structure are placed on all life today. It is possible to look at small parts of our lives today and intuit greater themes or patterns. Ra-Horakhty was the middle kingdom's Ra and Horus combination deity that represented the rising sun. Today we are reminded to shine our light outward and discover, project and enlighten all around us. It's a perfect day for gardening, harvesting and traveling by foot.
Tuesday, July 28th - Day begins in Mansion of Ra-Horakhty / Enters Mansion of Sobek at 3pm EST
The moon trines Jupiter this morning, bringing energy, enthusiasm and a need to expand our minds. Knowledge can be soaked up like a sponge this morning so try to take advantage. Read or study if possible. The moon is void of course from 9:37am EST until 2:48pm when it moves into Capricorn. During the void period it is advisable to not make any major decisions, particularly large choices regarding romance or close partners. There are so many planets in retrograde that voids will now be particularly unstable times to conduct business or deal with finalizing decisions. Once the moon enters Capricorn it will be easier to find a rational solution. The moon trines Venus this afternoon and squares the North Node a few hours later. We are able to look back on our past points of view with kindness and a sense of removed objectivity, should we wish to. It's a good night for pushing beyond any Venus retrograde strangeness and enjoying ourselves in the present moment. The moon enters the Mansion of Sobek at 3pm EST. This is a restless mansion, and one that invites us to keep searching and expanding our perspective further and further. Escaping from confining situations is more manageable today. Water travel is favored, but the ancients believed it to be a poor day for being near rivers. Apparently since Sobek was the crocodile god, it was considered disrespectful to enter his Dark Waters (rivers) on his day.
Wednesday, July 29th - Day begins in Mansion of Sobek / Enters Mansion of Bastet at 1pm EST
The moon sextiles Neptune, which creates a similar sort of daydream mentality as the other day but in a gentler, more beneficial way. These daydreams are boosted by earthy Capricorn and so are given more stability and room to be built in the 'real' world. The Capricorn moon meets up with Pluto in conjunction at 2pm EST, allowing us an ability to see into the depths. Lots can be revealed during this hour or so. Consider research or discussion. It is also a preferable day for paranormal study, if you are interested in such things. Mercury and Pluto are in quincunx tonight at 11:21pm EST, which makes the studies better when dealt with alone. It's a 'down the rabbit hole' type of day. Dig into your subconscious and see what comes up. The moon enters the Mansion of Bastet at 1pm EST, the home of the cat goddess and the realm of skills and talents. We are invited to work on a skill that is important to us and hone our abilities today. Practice and you will likely see positive results. It was also considered a great day for health by the ancients.
Thursday, July 30th - Day begins in Mansion of Bastet / Enters Mansion of Onuris at 11am EST
The moon squares Uranus and sextiles Chiron early this morning. Getting things done is favored. There are likely to be tasks that require your attention as you continue throughout the day and there is ample focus and clarity to take these things on. Again, holistic and healing work is favored this morning. The moon opposes Mars, which can create small arguments with others. Capricorn and Cancer are most affected. Most of these arguments will have to do with completing those tasks from earlier and others getting in the way. The moon sextiles Saturn this afternoon before moving void of course at 2:51pm EST. Make use of the time before 3pm to get all your work out of the way. The void lasts until 5:41pm EST when the moon enters Aquarius. Don't make too many drastic changes during the void period. The moon trines the North Node tonight, which brings together people of like mind and ideas which could bring in electric feelings of newness and excitement. The moon enters the Mansion of Onuris this morning at 11am. This is the realm of all that came before that has been forgotten. Onuris was a war god that virtually disappeared from Ancient Egyptian belief. It is a reminder to not forget the past. Because of this we will have to address some various retrograde issues. There is a need to examine traditions from the past. It's a good day for antiquing, reminiscing or doing anything involving things or concepts from long ago. This is one of the better days this month to marry or decide on any commitments, provided they occur after 6pm EST or before 3pm. Strangely enough, the ancients also considered it a good day for rebellion from government (?).
