Tuesday, September 1st ~ This morning at 6:42am EST Mercury meets Pluto in trine. This aspect enhances communication, and makes it easier to focus on our intention when sharing with others. It is a directive aspect, allowing us to delegate and lead in an effective way. If you are interacting with a boss or other authority figure, you may find it easier to see their wishes and motivations. Another impact of this transit is being able to share ideas and feelings with friends and loved ones in a clear and non-threatening way. Sometimes Pluto makes our intentions appear more subtle, but the trine encourages us to be direct and bring them to the light.
Wednesday, September 2nd ~ Today is a busy day cosmically! First we have a Full Moon in the sign of Pisces, hitting at exactly 1:22am EST. Venus and Saturn meet in opposition at 8:17am EST, and the Sun trines Uranus at 10:08am EST. Let's start with the Full Moon. A Full Moon in Pisces (which always takes place while the Sun is in Virgo) tends to highlight the apparent duality between the mental/astral plane and the physical plane. Common themes during this moon include: having large-scale ideas but without the knowledge of how to implement them, feeling like we can't connect to the "real" world (or feeling like someone you're close to is lost in the clouds away from the "real" world), or feeling a sense of boredom or lack of purpose. Virgo and Pisces exist on the healing polarity, as both signs seek to heal through their different approaches. It may be helpful to let yourself indulge the inner child today. Try not to take things too seriously, and do something fun that has no major stakes in the world (i.e. something separate from money, prestige, or accomplishment). The Venus/Saturn opposition may make us frustrated by others' behavior today, but know that this is a mirror. Are you frustrated with someone for being too outspoken? Too complacent? Too {insert whatever you feel here}? Maybe you need to allow yourself to speak out, or to turn off your mind for a bit. The Sun is trine Uranus in Taurus today, suggesting we leap out of our comfort zone and let the day surprise us. Take a different route, try something new. Have fun with it!
Thursday, September 3rd ~ Mercury and Saturn meet in trine early today, and about an hour later Mercury moves into a square with the North Node. These transits have a couple effects -- we may find that we are motivated to get work done, and to take responsibility in some major way. The Mercury/Saturn trine encourages hard work and dedication or owning up to our actions. However, the Mercury/North Node square does bring up a little fear. The fears that arise for us today are karmic in origin. We may be moving into new terrain, and so this feels a bit scary. Some could go the opposite way today and want to hide away and distract themselves from taking a leap or getting something done on the physical plane. Go easy on yourself and know that working toward the larger goal is a good idea, but there is no time limit. If you're not ready now, simply make the intention that you'd like to work on healing this fear but at a healthy pace. The pace you are comfortable with may be different than that of another, and this is perfectly fine.
Friday, September 4th ~ Today Venus in Cancer and Mars in Aries meet in square at 5:11am EST. This is a fiery aspect that creates dissonance and passion in relationships. It could be either really magnetic and sexy or else just plain angry. All depends on natal constitution of those involved. You may find yourself channeling this pent up energy into art and personal (or work) projects. There could be dramatic outbursts for those in partnerships. Children might seem a little wound up today, like they have energy to burn. In the late afternoon EST, Mercury and Venus meet in a gentle sextile which allows communication to improve. Suddenly some of the intensity of the morning begins to make sense. We are able to share how we were feeling in clear, calm words, or else maybe we have the sudden insight to see why someone was acting a certain way.
Saturday, September 5th ~ At 3:46pm EST, Mercury enters Libra, the cardinal air sign. It will stay here until September 27th. When Mercury is in Libra, communication tends to be most successful when it is gentle, diplomatic and considers all sides. As Libra is the cosmic scales, channeling this concept when we interact with others during this time makes for the smoothest ride. The Libran Mercury is a classic mediator. It seeks to resolve conflict and chaos through an almost tender touch, seeking to level all mountains into smooth mesa-like plateaus. Something to note: Just because this is a time when harmonizing communication styles are most effective does NOT mean everyone will be compelled to talk or share in this manner. However, those who do not are bound to hit more roadblocks if they choose not to flow with the cosmic weather. It will be easiest for those with Mercury in Libra, Aquarius, or Gemini. It will be fairly simple for those with Mercury in Leo or Sagittarius. It will be challenging for those with Mercury in Cancer or Capricorn. Mercury in Aries will have the hardest time adjusting to this energy but could stand to gain the greatest gifts by learning the lesson. Mercury in those signs not mentioned could go either way. I also find that while Mercury is in Libra, it is a good time to share art and creative projects with others. We may have a lot of creative, aesthetically-directed ideas during this time.
Sunday, September 6th ~ Today at 3:21am EST, Venus moves into the sign of Leo. Leo is fixed fire, like an eternal flame. This transit of Venus lasts until October 2nd, when the planet of love and beauty enters Virgo. Venus in Leo is extravagant and dramatic. We may be drawn to express our fondness for others in exaggerated ways, maybe through gifts. Again, not everyone will suddenly act like a natal Venus in Leo during this time, but things flow a little more smoothly for those who can channel this energy. While Venus in Leo is generous with its affections, wanting to shine down appreciation and warmth on all who capture its heart, the one downside we might experience during this time is wanting all attention on us. If we share our love in a grandiose manner with another, we may expect the same lavish treatment in return. It may also be frustrating if we can't show off publicly, adorning ourselves and our lover and walking into a party to receive all the loving praise of a pair of monarchs. We can make the most of this time by sharing love without expectation, giving to others in selfless ways. This doesn't mean to put up with bad treatment, but understand that everyone expresses gratitude in a different manner. This is also a markedly good time to give to charity through time, donations, and getting the word out (of course it is always a good time for supporting charities, but you may notice that you are able to raise more money and awareness during this time).
