Weekly Forecast: 10/12/20 through 10/18/20

Monday, October 12th ~ Today we have two very pleasant transits. We begin with Jupiter sextile Neptune, hitting at 3:05am EST but palpable all day and into the next few days as well. This is a buoyant transit that fills us with optimism and hope. We may feel brighter today, and more connected to our higher ideals or spiritual beliefs. There is a sense of observing life through rosy lens, and seeing how things are interconnected. We move into a semblance of unity. At 12:36pm EST Mercury makes its final transit before going retrograde tomorrow, entering into a sextile with Venus. Our words are of greatest help today if they are gentle and offer guidance. Mercury is in probing Scorpio now, so we see deeper into situations and are able to infer much from little. It may be tempting to solve problems for other people, but we are reminded to act as guides and not parents. We can work with others to help them feel empowered and ready to act, but shouldn't take away the power by just solving the problem for them. Overall this is a breezy and blissful day.

Tuesday, October 13th ~ The Libra Sun opposes Mars retrograde in Aries at 7:25pm EST. Consider a marionette with strings pulled very tightly. We may wish to break out of imposed routine or stress caused by social expectations. We would like to have freedom to move and to assert our own ideas and independence. Others may have the opposite reaction, longing to merge and cling to others and fearful of making themselves known as a distinct entity. Balance (Libra season's general theme) is needed. We need not be all of one, or all of another. These rules are not real but exist in our minds. Tonight at 9:06pm EST Mercury stations retrograde at 11 degrees Scorpio. This retrograde lasts through the remainder of October, ending on the USA's election day. A Mercury Rx period in Scorpio tends to impact memory and subtle intention more than outward expression or technology. We may find our memory distorted in some way, or the memories of others distorted. We could feel a general need to get to the bottom of a situation, but feel unable to sort through all the muck and mire. Remember retrogrades are essentially ILLUSIONS caused by our incomplete vantage point from here on Earth. In some ways Mercury retrograde gets worse every time because there are now so many people feeding into the idea. That is not to say that it is without influence, just that our beliefs are the most powerful substance we have to work with. While Mercury retraces its steps in the domain of Scorpio, we will grow the most by grounding into the present and accepting that we may not ever know everything about a subject or person. By allowing the mystery to exist and grow, we free ourselves from the shackles of ego and open up greater creativity and freedom of expression.

Wednesday, October 14th ~ Today at 2:40pm EST the Libra Sun trines the North Node in Gemini. The North Node, also known as Rahu or the head of the dragon, is a point on the moon's elliptical orbit. It is the highest point that the Moon can travel. So since the North and South Node are not actually planetary bodies, but potentials of travel, we can muse on this in our personal lives. As the Sun moves into trine with the highest potential, we see a path illuminated forward. We may have an inkling of the direction we are to move in to align with highest growth and optimum expression. It is up to us whether we embark on this journey. The opportunity never goes away forever, and will always circle back around again. As the North Node is presently in Gemini, this is likely unlocked through communication, correspondence, or technology. We may need to interact and work together with others during this time to bring about the necessary karmic unfoldment.

Thursday, October 15th ~ The Sun and Pluto meet in square at 6:14am EST. While this transit can sometimes bring about frustrations regarding authority figures, it also has several other shades we can examine. The main feeling beneath these frustrations is a desire for autonomy, freedom, and control. While this is not always possible to fully maintain in the physical plane, we can disengage our mental energy from those who attempt to wield power. This is the first step to asserting our freedom. Another way to read this transit is having a burst of energy that provides one with the necessary motivation to untangle a snare. The square is all about problem solving. How can we overcome our bondage? This is a good time to consider if we have limited another's power through our actions, or lack of awareness, as well.

Friday, October 16th ~ Blessed New Moon to you. This one is in Libra, perfecting at 3:29pm EST. A New Moon in Libra invites us to focus on internal balance and harmony. Move away from the pressures of the external world and check in on yourself and your mental space. What can you do to clear the mental clutter? How can you provide emotional nurturance for yourself? You may need to get ideas on paper to clear away the debris. Make a to-do list so you're not holding onto all these tasks. If your brain requires fun, let yourself play. If you need rest, take a nap and watch a movie that doesn't require much debate or thought. This Moon is for self-care. Cleaning our headspace from time to time is just as important as doing chores around the house.

Sunday, October 18th ~ The Sun squares Saturn in Capricorn at 9:57am, and later in the morning, Venus opposes Neptune at 10:48am EST. Two distinct and opposing energies are at work today. First, we may feel some responsibility or guilt about "getting things done". A nagging sensation tickles the brain throughout the morning and afternoon. It may be hard to fully disengage or relax. We may even get it in the external world, someone telling us we need to do our work! The other energy of the day is dreamy. We find ourselves lost in our fantasies and ideas about someone. We could feel all-consumed by love, taken over by the idea of a blissful union. This is only negative if we lose ourselves in the mirage. Thankfully, the Sun/Saturn energy keeps us with one foot on the ground. We see things both for what they are and what they could be. Today is best spent in balance; some fun, some work, do a little project and then reward yourself.
