Tuesday, October 27th ~ Within a four minute span, both Mercury and Venus will enter the sign of Libra today - Mercury at 9:36pm EST and Venus at 9:40pm EST. Despite this, the two planets are not in conjunction and sit at either end of the Libra house; Mercury is currently retrograde so re-enters Libra and sits at 29 degrees, while Venus' forward momentum carries her to 0 degrees Libra. (Mercury will stay here until November 10th before returning to Scorpio, and Venus will be in Libra until November 21st.) Venus is extremely comfortable in Libra, and is able to shine her best qualities with a little more ease. We are encouraged to work on projects both creative and artistic, and perhaps to try teamwork and collaboration more. Retrograde Mercury's brief journey back through Libra echoes some of the themes from the last week of September (when Mercury last traced through these same degrees). We may notice some repeating patterns here in our personal lives. Utilizing the qualities of Libra, we can get far by being diplomatic and working to iron out conflicts. It is interesting that Mercury returns to Libra for the US Election Day. Being the sign of justice, we can hope that the process will play out in a fair way.
This is a big week, but Wednesday-Friday don't have any major aspects happening. The moon travels through Aries on Wednesday and Thursday and then enters Taurus Friday evening, where it will be for Halloween. Fire signs will be energetic and excitable this week; air signs may require more rest; water signs could feel more emotional than usual; earth signs will be magical manifestors.
Saturday, October 31st ~ Happy Halloween / Samhain! This is a big, intense day and even more so given the fact that it's a holiday. The Full Blue Moon in Taurus occurs at 10:47am EST, conjunct Uranus. The Sun will move into direct opposition with Uranus at 11:52am EST. This energy is pretty weird, windy, and wild. Uranus is like an electricity storm, and with the Moon thrown in we can expect some moodiness and eccentric behavior. It may feel like the Twilight Zone today. You'll need to throw all your preconceived notions away for the afternoon. Tonight will actually be a little less intense emotionally, but will still be creepy and kooky. Sun opposing Uranus means the whole day will be kind of bizarre. You may end up doing something that is completely different than planned. People will not act how you anticipate they will. It can end up being really exciting as long as you let go of "shoulds" and "should nots". Flow with the wind! Be safe and keep your eyes open; all the Uranian energy removes inhibitions so it's always good to be aware of what's happening around you.
Sunday, November 1st ~ Feliz Dia de los Muertos! I hope you are having a good weekend. Today retrograde Mercury in Libra squares Saturn at 2:13pm EST, and shortly after Venus in Libra opposes Chiron in Aries at 2:54pm EST. This is not the easiest energy to navigate. Interacting with others proves pretty difficult. You may find that some people know just how to push your buttons today. There is a sense of emotional coldness around the day, but also raw vulnerability. In some ways it might be better to hibernate and spend time on your own. If you are going to interact with others, try to keep it as light as possible. Mercury square Saturn will push you to get work done, but this transit is kind of a trap as it will make it seem like nothing you do is good enough. Go easy on yourself and take the day off. This coming week is actually much lighter astrologically, which is good because we have enough going on collectively. Restore your energy and if you must interact with others, remember to laugh and have fun! Watch comedy movies, play a game, and be kind to yourself and others.
