Monday, November 16th ~ Today Venus in Libra squares Jupiter in Capricorn at 12:32am EST, though we will feel the impact of this transit all day long. Venus will also be entering into a square with asteroid Pallas today. This is an energy we have already been primed for; Venus squared Pluto just yesterday, and now she moves on to square the other big planets hanging out in Capricorn - today, Jupiter, and on Thursday, Saturn. Venus is a harmonious planet, so finding her in so many places of tension is out of character and a little overwhelming. We'll try to just focus on today and then explore more Venusian themes as the week continues. The square to Jupiter causes us to go out of our way to invoke harmony. This isn't necessarily a bad thing in and of itself, but could cause us to stretch too thin. This could look like overextending ourselves to help others, or going above and beyond as a means of trying to receive love. The square to Pallas may create a need to make difficult decisions in relationships, or to have tough conversations with others. The moon helps to buoy us today; it is in Sagittarius all day and here seeks to find and focus upon joy.
Tuesday, November 17th ~ Today the Sagittarius moon is void of course from 2:54am to 11:34am EST, when it enters Capricorn. The void mornings we've been having lately are good for getting a late start, or easing into your day gradually. When the moon shifts into Capricorn, you will likely feel more motivated to handle small details. During the void, Mercury in Scorpio opposes Uranus in Taurus at 3:06am EST. This transit lingers for much of the morning and afternoon. Conversations are topsy-turvy, ambling all over. On the far end of the spectrum, this manifests as shocking revelations or strange things blurted out. On the more mild side, conversations flow in unexpected directions. See where your interactions take you; they will be far from dull.
Wednesday, November 18th ~ The Sun moves into conjunction with asteroid Sappho for the day, while Mercury sextiles asteroid Vesta. The Sun combines with the sensuality and free-spirit of Sappho, meaning the day is more uninhibited. Sappho represents taking control of your own sexuality and engaging with it in a healthy way that leaves you feeling empowered. The Sun brings its light to Sappho; in the darker underworld of Scorpio we can move out of the bondage of shame and repression and connect with others or self in a beautiful, intimate way. Mercury's sextile to Vesta brings communication about the home or living situation. Vesta represents hearth and home, and often transits to this asteroid impact our residence in some way. The Mercury sextile is pleasant and suggests that we may receive news about our home, or do some sort of communicating about our home, or maybe we will work from home. Surely the focus is on being home, and maybe what this means in a more abstract way. What does home feel like to you? The moon is in Capricorn all day, giving us an industrious attitude.
Thursday, November 19th ~ It is a busy day celestially! We begin with the Sun sextiling Saturn at 2:17am EST, a gentler Sun/Saturn contact that focuses the mind and encourages us to take responsibility for ourselves and our work. Venus squares Saturn at 6:28am EST, a transit that can create tension in relationships. We may feel restricted by those around us. Relationships could feel stifling or bothersome. The Capricorn moon conjuncts Pluto, Jupiter, and Saturn in a row today; always a big day each moon cycle for the past year or two. If you can incorporate all that Capricorn/Saturn energy into discipline and willpower, you can really be unstoppable. Try not to get bogged down by all the details and all the issues that need to be fixed. Get present and focus on one thing at a time. The moon is void from 11:29am to 3:24pm EST, when it enters Aquarius. At this point, the air crackles with electricity and ideas begin to zap in. The Sun/Saturn energy continues on, meaning we have ideas forming AND the focus to implement them. A truly magical combination.
Friday, November 20th ~ Jupiter and Pallas join in conjunction today for the second time this month. The two will be in step for much of November and December, both entering Aquarius within a week and a half of one another. This transit is exalted creativity. Pallas, daughter of Triton, rules over the higher mind. She deals with inspiration and ideas which come from the higher self, or the part of ourselves that is not a defense. Ideas that are formed in this place are free from fear, and typically have the power to alter and impact life for the better. All of us are creative at heart and Pallas allows us to feel this as true. The moon is in Aquarius all day; we have energy and enthusiasm to play and create but could feel more bothered by restrictions on our freedom. The moon goes void at 7:48pm EST and will be void for over 27 hours (until 11:05pm EST tomorrow)! This is one of the longest void periods we've had in quite some time. I picture a Victorian woman fanning herself while reclining on a velvet sofa. Relax, unwind, and let yourself off the hook.
Saturday, November 21st ~ Several big shifts await today. Venus moves into Scorpio at 8:21am EST, where it will be until December 15th. There is a focus on honesty in relationships, and at the same time we may prefer to hide our love away. By this, I mean that you could enjoy holing up with your loved ones, safe from the world (a rather nice thing for lockdown). Some may seek to keep details of relationships private or secret from the world at large. Hidden feelings will be put under pressure, heating up gradually until we feel we must divulge the secret to the person involved. This could be a romantic thing or very platonic in nature. Either way we plumb the depths - no shallow diving when Venus is in Scorpio. The Sun enters Sagittarius today at 3:39pm EST. The Sun is happy here, enjoying the expansive party thrown by Jupiter. We shift from autumn dark to holiday bright. All of this occurs under the 27-hour void moon, which could feel like a timewarp or astral portal. This ends at 11:05pm EST, as the moon enters Pisces. You may have vivid dreams tonight. If you don't typically remember your dreams and wish to, consider lighting some mugwort incense or drinking mugwort tea.
Sunday is a quiet day, with the moon in Pisces forming a harmonious trine to Venus and sextile to Uranus. I don't have much to say about this; it is a good time for friendly conversations, meditation, and spiritual practice. The moon has now reached its first quarter; we are midway to the full moon on November 30th. Check out my podcast on Starting a Manifestation Cycle for some info on this upcoming Beaver Moon.
