Monday, February 22nd ~ Today the moon is in Cancer all day, the sign of its domicile. Today and tomorrow are quite simple astrologically, with no major aspects in the transiting skies. It is a good time for checking in with your own transits and realigning with your own natal chart. With the moon in Cancer we may prefer to stay close to home, or in familiar situations. We may notice our emotions run deep. Asteroid Ceres enters Aries today, where it will be until May 7th. Ceres is the asteroid of the mother, and also represents the earth and a desire to protect the flora and fauna inhabiting it. In Aries, Ceres' love is fierce and action oriented. She fights to preserve her proverbial children. We may notice an increased passion and desire to defend others, and to express our love for pets and youngsters in a fiery, dramatic way. It could be harder to suppress anger if anyone interferes with those under our watchful care.
Tuesday, February 23rd ~ Today is extremely quiet astrologically. The moon remains in Cancer all day, and we swim through the emotional waters of the first water sign. I like to think of each of these signs as a different body of water. Scorpio is like the deepest, darkest ocean full of secrets and unknown animals swimming around with strange lights and colors. Pisces is like a moving river, drifting along with the current and flowing into larger bodies of water to merge. Cancer is like the tide pools you see on the beach. There is much life inside them but each is protected and contains its own little universe. So while the Sun is presently illuminating the twisting rivers of Pisces, the moon shines on these little tidal worlds. Just a little thought to mediate upon. Asteroid Vesta, ruling hearth and home, squares the North Node today. This suggests that we are moving toward the ultimate expression of home and family, but could feel something like growing pains as we stretch and strive toward it. Maybe we feel some discomfort around our home or family situation. However, the contact with the North Node tells us we are on the way to a larger karmic unfolding in this area, and just need to hang on. Vesta will be tightly in this aspect for the remainder of the week. The moon moves void of course at 11:54pm EST, where it will be until tomorrow morning.
Wednesday, February 24th ~ The moon is void of course until 7:23am EST, when it enters Leo. Suddenly we are pulled out of the dreamy watery energy of the past two days. We may feel more dramatic, showy and want to dress up and be seen. Many of us will feel less like hiding away and want to step into the spotlight. Mars and Pluto are in trine today, perfecting at 8:51pm EST but palpable all day long. This is a leadership aspect that aligns our actions with our subtle intentions. We can more easily act from a place of control and power. However, the trine softens what could be a more intense feeling transit and gives it a sense of empowerment and accomplishment. Vesta continues her square to the North Node, which makes us focused on improving our home environment and familial situation.
Thursday, February 25th ~ The moon is in Leo all day. We might feel more playful under the energies of today's skies. Imagination and showmanship are possible themes. The energy is theatrical but in the best sort of way. It is not so much about drama as it is about self-expression. The Sun and Uranus sextile at 4:12pm EST. I think of this like the energy of the Fool tarot card - being connected to a sense of wonder and feeling excited to step into something new. You might be more open to change today. It could actually seem like an adventure! Venus moves into Pisces tonight at 8:11pm EST, a dreamy and gentle placement for the planet of love. Venus in Pisces is all about the story book idea of romance... magic, fantasy, and true love's kiss. All of today's energy plays well together. New pathways are forged and we shape the world around us through our perception and open-hearted belief.
Friday, February 26th ~ The moon is void of course from 6:32am until 12:07pm EST when it enters Virgo. This morning you may feel more childlike, wanting to disengage from chores and tasks in order to play. If you have things to do, consider rewarding yourself for getting something done, i.e. finish the laundry and then have some ice cream, or get your taxes done and then play a video game. It seems simple but is a nice offering under these current skies. Once the moon is in Virgo this afternoon, you might find you have more focus. Jupiter and the North Node are in trine today, perfecting at 5:56pm EST. This is a highly karmic transit that brings in all sorts of possibilities and open doors into our lives. Pay attention to any messages from others today. Who reaches out to you? What happens when you interact in the world? What do you notice while you're out and about? These things are ushering in a larger karmic unfolding that will continue through the next year. It might not be immediately obvious, but note any unusual feelings and particularly any random seeming encounters. You could be feeling especially curious tonight with the moon in Virgo and this expansive Jupiter transit. Read an informative book or watch an interesting program that feeds the brain. We are gearing up for tomorrow's Full Moon, so you might notice you feel wide awake when you would typically be sleeping.
Saturday, February 27th ~ The moon is in Virgo all day, with the Full Moon perfecting at 8:17am EST. This Full Moon is intimately linked to the New Moon back on September 17th. If you think back to that time, what were you hoping to shed? What was on your mind back then? The Full Moon brings these seeds of intention to sprout. We may not see the full bloom for another few months, but the little seedlings are beginning to poke through and reach toward the light. Often the themes of these Virgo moon cycles include self-improvement, physical health, and the care we give others. The Full Moon in Virgo tends to activate all corners of our brain and make us curious and interested to learn. However, you may have trouble shutting off and getting some rest. It's a good day for cleaning, organizing, and powering through projects. Vesta and the North Node continue their square, which makes us eager to improve our home and living space. It's the kind of day where you could decide to completely redo something in your house and complete the whole project in a few hours!
Sunday, February 28th ~ The moon is in Virgo this morning, moving void of course from 10:58am until it enters Libra at 2:17pm EST. The energy drop off during the void is palpable, and you may find you suddenly need a nap. Once the moon is in Libra you could feel more social and interested in touching base with friends. Maybe you're excited about networking or connecting with someone from afar. During the Libra moon, we are focused on balance and harmony in our internal world. If we are giving too much attention to one area, we will naturally pivot and shift to even things out. Mercury is trining asteroid Psyche today, which allows our minds to activate in ways they normally do not. This could allow us to solve problems and puzzles which would normally leave us stumped. Today is the last day of Vesta square North Node, a weeklong transit which can make us want to improve our home and living situation. This suggests that an energetic shift will be coming tomorrow, ushered in by the arrival of March.
