Monday, April 12th ~ The moon is void of course in Aries from 8:06am until 1:44pm EST as it ingresses Taurus. We are still coming off the heightened energy of last night's New Moon. How are you feeling? We enter the lush jade gardens of the Taurean moon and the ground becomes more solid and stabile beneath our feet. In general we are likely to be more inwardly directed today. Going slower, taking a nap or rest, or doing other forms of self care can be helpful. Asteroid Pallas enters a four day square with the North Node, also opposing the South Node. Pallas rules over creativity and the higher mind. Insights, sparks of inspiration, and channeled creativity are all part of her domain. There could be some slight creative tension this week. You may feel ideas bubbling over, or have an event happen in your life which is frustrating but serves as a catalyst for expression. Maybe a bad day turns into a beautiful poem or art piece. Another way this energy could play out is feeling like you are overflowing with so much inspiration that you haven't the time to implement all of it. Trust in the process and meditate on the idea that all comes to fruition at the time it is most needed.
Tuesday, April 13th ~ The moon is in Taurus all day, connecting us to the earth element and the ground below our feet. The Sun sextiles Mars, palpable all day but perfecting at 7:08pm EST. Motivation to achieve goals and complete projects zaps down over us. This will shake many into action, but others could feel a bit overwhelmed and unsure of where to begin. Much of this is due to the continuing square between creative asteroid Pallas and the North Node of the Moon. The fires of inspiration are stoked. Where to begin? Anywhere is fine. It doesn't need to be perfect. Asteroid Juno moves retrograde at 24 degrees Sagittarius today. Juno represents marriage, commitment, and contracts of all sorts. She will be in retrograde until August 3rd. This is a good time to consider these most important bonds and contractual obligations in our lives. If you run a business or own a home, you may encounter opportunities to check in and see if this is something you want to be committed to in the long run. If you are in a marriage or similarly committed relationship, you will have a chance to see if it is working for you or holding you back. If you are free from commitment at this time, you may find yourself desiring it in some area. Juno retrograde is primarily about balance. Those who are committed in too many areas might need to implement more freedom for themselves, while those who are totally unattached will likely want to bring in the stability of such an agreement.
Wednesday, April 14th ~ The moon is in Taurus all day; we tend to seek out emotional stability during this time. We feel comforted by nature and beautiful things we can observe with our senses. Venus enters Taurus at 2:21pm EST, where it will be until May 9th. Venus is at home in the sign it rules over, and functions extremely well here. Creativity flourishes under these conditions. We are apt to feel especially moved by lush plants, ornate fabrics and artwork, a fine candle or stick of high quality incense, and delicious homecooked meals. Love is expressed in similarly sensuous ways. Venus in Taurus tends to be slow to change. Lots of attempts to shift relationships over the next few weeks may be met with stubborn resistance. The moon is void of course from 8:00pm EST until tomorrow. Turn in early or spend the evening in a restful manner.
Thursday, April 15th ~ The moon enters Gemini at 2:35am EST. Interesting dreams could come in the early hours. Lucidity is quite possible in the dream realm, both this morning and when you go to sleep later tonight. Find a dream character and ask them what they represent. See if you can retrieve the answer! The Sun sextiles Jupiter today at 12:58pm EST, which is an enthusiastic transit that will uplift many. It is possible to step into the slipstream of luck today. Luck is a vibration that is available to anyone; certain astrological configurations (both in the natal chart an in the transiting sky) make it easier to grab hold of and this afternoon there is a window through. Generosity of spirit increases. You could feel compelled to share what you have with others. It is the last day of asteroid Pallas' square to the North Node. Creative tension begins to resolve. It reminds me of a dissonant chord that is building in intensity and will soon return to its root note. When the resolution comes, there is a sense of relief that could never really be possible without the disharmony.
Friday, April 16th ~ The moon is in Gemini all day, and the Sun enters into a square with Pluto in Capricorn at 9:26am EST. Mental activity increases and we find ourselves both curious and suspicious. This combination of planets can make some scan their environment, looking for clues. We all turn into detectives or private investigators for the day. We gather a lot of data but may find it hard to relax and turn off unless we are alone (and even then, our minds keep working!). If this becomes too much, sometimes doing a puzzle or playing a game can help to give your brain something juicy to chew on. The Sun enters a sextile with Psyche today while Jupiter trines Psyche, which only increases our mental acuity. It's an ideal day for studying as you will likely retain the information.
Saturday, April 17th ~ Today is an active day in the cosmos! The moon is in Gemini for the first half of the day, and moves void from 11:03am until 3:08pm EST when it enters Cancer. During that four hour window you may desire fun in the form of a game, adventure, or getting pulled into an engrossing movie or TV show. Once the moon is in Cancer, we dive back into the emotions. You may feel an opening of your heart in an outpouring of love or compassion for someone or something you care about. Today we have a minor grand trine involving Mars, Jupiter, and Mercury. The minor grand trine occurs when two planets are in trine, while one planet is in between them, sextiling them both. Mars and Jupiter are in trine (perfecting at 1:13am EST) with Mercury as the connector, sextiling both Mars and Jupiter at 3:08pm EST. This aspect pattern is high energy and quite externally focused. With both Mars and Jupiter in air signs and Mercury in a fire sign, we may feel very talkative and excited to share ideas. It is a very social day, although the Cancer moon could make us want to stick physically close to home or in a place we feel comfortable. If that wasn't enough, Mercury continues on its course and squares Pluto a couple hours later at 5:48pm EST. This can cause some obsessive thinking, or can make us feel compelled to explore the dark side of something even if it causes us stress or pain. Another way this energy can show up is through interactions with others that are challenging in nature. However, the general tone of today is very positive. If you find yourself getting pulled too far into that Pluto shadow, you can counteract it by focusing love and compassion outward. Think of your pet, your best friend, or someone that is easy to love. You can also meditate on the color rose.
Sunday, April 18th ~ Today the moon is in Cancer all day. I picture a collection of tide pools on a beach with the moonlight casting a glow over all the amazing sea life. It feels somewhat cozy and safe in those tide pools but there are endless things to explore. We could enjoy being at home today or spending time with those who remind us of our roots. You may feel tender and easily moved emotionally. The Sun moves into conjunction with Mercury at 29 degrees Aries tonight at 9:48pm EST. This is a wild place for a Mercury Cazimi! The 29th degree of any sign, known as the anaretic degree, tends to exaggerate the energy of any planet that crosses it. This aspect will bring insights of the highest order. You may have flashes of genius that come right around 9:38-9:58pm EST. Those born right at the exact time of Mercury Cazimi tend to be geniuses, but if it is missed by even twenty minutes it can create the opposite as Mercury's powers of mental prowess are swallowed up by the heart of the Sun. Mercury is also in sextile to asteroid Psyche, who rules over the processes of the brain. This adds to the intensity of the mental blast! See what ideas come to mind in this twenty minute window, especially right at 9:48pm EST. We enter the third stage of the Mercury cycle which began on February 8th. This third stage lasts until May 29th, when Mercury goes retrograde. The theme of this time is aligning inner reality with outer reality. As above, so below. It is a time for sharing ideas, making your projects public, and balancing the inner and outer worlds.
