Monday, April 5th ~ Today is very simple astrologically. We begin with a void moon in Capricorn from 3:05am until 9:04am EST as it enters Aquarius. This is really the only major shift of the day. The Aquarian moon makes us yearn for independence and could cause us to question accepted versions of reality. You may long to escape society, or else feel compelled to work towards creating a utopia. The moon shrinks in light and so we turn more inward.

Tuesday, April 6th ~ The moon is in Aquarius all day. It descends in the sky, darkening every minute. As we move towards the New Moon we surrender our ego to the grand source of becoming. The entrance into the dark moon can be fraught with the trappings of fear, but to stand in this space is deeply transformative. Venus and Mars are in sextile today, perfecting at 7:17am EST. Balance comes through the meeting of heart and action. Actions rooted in love go far today. How can you work to become less judgmental? Can you allow yourself to love someone, even if they see things differently? Even if they are cruel? Even if you believe them wrong? Even if they do not offer you the same love back? You need not invite them into your experience, but can you see them from a place of love? This may be the most radical self-work you can do. It is less a gift to the other person than it is a gift to yourself.

Wednesday, April 7th ~ The moon is in Aquarius for the majority of the day, and is void of course for a good chunk of time, from 6:05am until 4:31pm EST when it ingresses Pisces. The Sun and Ceres are conjunct in Aries today. The energy is rapid, like a time lapse video of a plant sprouting from the ground and reaching full bloom in seconds. Despite the void period, things are moving fast. This energy invites us to consider our friends in nature, the plants and animals. Ceres rules over such things, and the Sun casts light upon them. Maybe they require nurturing, or maybe you require nurturing by returning to the healing pulse of Mother Earth. This conjunction continues through tomorrow.

Thursday, April 8th ~ The moon is in Pisces all day, and the Sun and Ceres continue their conjunction in Aries. We feel an opening of empathy for nature. Feel the soft fronds of plant life, the slow wisdom of a tree. Watch the joy of a cat finding a nap in a sunny spot. The Piscean moon allows us to merge, and Ceres invites us to do so with our non-human companions on this planet. Meditation on your food could prove a helpful exercise. Imagining each component of your salad as a seed that once housed itself in the cool dark of the soil, that bravely pushed through and sprang to life. Such musings bring healing and connection with the Earth.

Friday, April 9th ~ It is a busy day in the cosmos. Many transits sing in the skies, some harmonious, others dissonant. The moon is in Pisces which can feel like a heavy cloud ready to burst with rain. Emotional release brings freedom. Mercury and Chiron are in conjunction (perfect at 3:07am EST), Mars squares Neptune (~3:17pm EST), Saturn trines the North Node (~10:55pm), and the moon is void from 7:48pm EST until tomorrow morning. Communications are deep and healing. They may not move in the most easeful manner but pay subtle attention to what is triggered in you and see what needs to be let go. Rushing forward into action can bring confusion. Slow down, take a deep breath, and complete things one step at a time. We are invited to stop and smell the flowers along the path, to know that we will get there when we get there. I am reminded of a sort of fable. A student is told to go visit a guru in a neighboring village. Some instructions are given for travel. The devotee rushes out and runs down the path, tearing through the brush and eventually gets there in record time. This devotee is certain once there, some jewel of wisdom will be bestowed upon them. Once arrived, the guru asks what part of the walk the devotee enjoyed the most. The devotee could not recall the walk at all, but goes on to ask for the pearl of knowledge that they have been seeking. The guru bows her head and tells the devotee that the walk itself was to be enjoyed, and that was the present, not anything waiting at the finish line.

Saturday, April 10th ~ The moon is void until 2:11am EST as it enters Aries. We enter the dark of the moon, perfecting in its newness tomorrow night. On the threshold of this darkness, we begin a new moon cycle. The Aries moon cycle is about independence. What do YOU want? You are allowed to ask for it. You are allowed to remove the things that are holding you back. You do not need to suffer for others; this does nothing but hold the vibration of suffering in everyone's experience. It is not a gift for them or for you. Mercury sextiles the North Node today at 9:47am EST. It is helpful to write out what you would like to claim for yourself this year. Big goals, small goals, abstract ideas... it's time to envision. Mercury sextiles Saturn at 11:08am EST which clears away brain fog and allows us to focus on the task at hand. Venus and Jupiter are in sextile at 2:52pm EST which opens the heart and allows love to pour out. Unconditional love is like a limitless cup that keeps refilling, forever and ever. If you feel giving love is draining you, then step above and see how you can love more unconditionally. This sort of love powers you up and charges you up. Animals and children are great for this; it is so easy to feel unconditional love for them. Start there and see if you can expand further and further. Can you give yourself unconditional love too?

Sunday, April 11th ~ Venus and Pluto are in square today, meeting at 11:20pm EST. This transit is subtle but can spark fear that we then try to control by being overly polished, friendly, or inviting. It's like rather than express worries, we hope we can just smile and disarm others and that they will then like us and want to be our friend. This can be a tool for lining up "safety" outside of ourselves. We create a sort of army around ourselves to protect us against a perceived concern. Being nice is obviously not a problem in and of itself, but this transit can often allow us to do this in a way that is not at all genuine. Be mindful of betraying yourself in this manner; genuine kindness does not hope to gain anything for its expression. The moon is at its darkest today, perfecting in conjunction to the Sun at 10:30pm EST. This New Moon in Aries starts a fresh macro moon cycle centered around independence and claiming happiness for yourself. It is a good evening for lighting a candle and seeing what it is you want to let go of and what you want to bring in. The Aries New Moon invites us to not consider how this might impact others. Focus less on how you might be perceived or what the potential fall-out could be. Hold the vibration of the feeling. Let's say you want to work less and have more free time to make art. Rather than imagining how that might look and suddenly seeing the angry face of your boss hovering in your mind's eye, or the piling up of bills that you believe could result from such a decision, instead focus on the feeling of freedom. Allow yourself to sit with this. Feel the freedom of creativity flowing through you, of having more time to yourself. This exercise is the same no matter what you are hoping to release and bring in.
