Monday, May 10th ~ This week there is a lot happening from Monday until Thursday, and then we have an extremely quiet weekend with barely any astrological aspects. If you are feeling scattered or ungrounded, you may notice things settling by Friday morning. The Taurean moon makes us feel a strong urge to be close to home, or to remain in our comfort zones. This will interact with today's transits in a bit of a paradoxical way. Mercury enters into a conjunction with the North Node at 3:01pm EST, putting us on track with our karmic purpose. We may be called to state this, communicate our desires with others, or seek movement toward a larger goal. Mercury is also in sextile to Chiron in Aries today, perfecting at 10:45pm EST. This creates an opportunity for healing to come through deep conversation or through getting our thoughts and feelings out, either by talking or writing. Keep in mind these transits really push us past our limits into unexplored terrain, and with the moon in Taurus we could resist this to some extent. There is more information on today's transits in my newest podcast episode, along with how to work with your own natal North Node.
Tuesday, May 11th ~ Happy New Moon! The New Moon in Taurus happens at 2:59pm EST, at 21 degrees in the third decan of Taurus. This decan is ruled over by Saturn, which provides a serious energy to this New Moon. We may feel a marked sense of personal responsibility to transform or release things that no longer serve us. The Taurus New Moon is a good time to set an intention to bring in more space in your life, and to release that which is cluttering up your space. This can be physical objects or more intangible things or ideas that leave you feeling cramped and muddled. If you'd like to hear more about this New Moon, I have a new podcast episode out today that goes into it deeply. This evening we have a couple Mars transits: Mars square Chiron (7:53pm EST), and Mars sextile Uranus (10:47pm EST). This amps us up and could keep some people up late. Energy comes in strange bursts, but the important thing here is to pay attention to your body and its needs. Do you need more rest? Do you need movement? The more you can tap into these subtle currents, the more healing you can bring. Chiron's dissonance with Mars tonight can be harmonized by the intention of bringing love and care to the physical body.
Wednesday, May 12th ~ Today we begin with the moon in Taurus. It could feel like a slower, sleepier morning after last night's mega burst of Mars energy. The moon is void for a short window, from 8:23am until 8:43am EST when it shifts into Gemini. This day is ideal for working out ideas and figuring out how to make them tangible. The Gemini moon gives us ample curiosity and the ability to brainstorm without getting too attached to a concept. Mercury moves into trine with Saturn at 2:33pm EST, which allows for increased focus and dedication to a project. Jupiter is at the 29th degree of Aquarius, and it is the final day of its tenure here until July, when it retrogrades back in. Many people will seek out freedom and expansion this week, and could be called to champion the underdog. It's a good day for charity work and helping get the word out about causes and charitable movements.
Thursday, May 13th ~ The moon is in Gemini all day. We may feel less emotional, or cycle through emotions quickly without fully diving into a single one. Curiosity abounds, and we may desire more socialization today. The Sun sextiles Neptune at 1:44am EST. This aspect is like a portal, and can open up doorways to interesting realms in our dream world. The Gemini moon helps us maintain a sense of lucidity and mental awareness, which can aid in remembering what we've done. The big news for today is that Jupiter enters Pisces at 6:36pm EST. Jupiter will be in Pisces until July 28th, when it retrogrades back into Aquarius, before returning to Pisces to stay in late December. Jupiter brings expansion to the realm of intuition. We are being called to explore our own instincts and gut feelings, and to trust what we bring back. We may need to listen to our own hearts and strengthen the connection between mind and higher self. It will not do to let others decide for us without consulting our own inner knowing. This transit also brings added compassion and empathy for others, and can expand our energy field out and out, so large that it can begin to blend and merge with those around us. This can be very beautiful but can also create some confusion around who we are and what feelings belong to us. Further advice for Jupiter in Pisces time will be in tomorrow's Unclouded Eye podcast.
Friday, May 14th - Saturday, May 15th ~ The next three days are extremely quiet astrologically. I am actually combining today and tomorrow for maybe the first time ever because there is so little going on. This will allow us a break and a breath of fresh air. On Friday, the moon is void of course in Gemini for most of the day. The void period begins at 6:51am EST and goes until 9:31pm EST when it shifts into Cancer. Friday could very well feel like an alternate reality. We will have ample mental energy and could feel fired up about various passion projects, but will probably not feel like doing much physically. It's a better day for coming up with ideas, or perhaps doing something lighthearted and fun. Try not to push yourself to accomplish too much. Saturday, the moon is in Cancer all day. We could feel like spending time with family or friends, or sticking close to home. We may feel like our emotions are suddenly more apparent. Take a look at your own transits this weekend; the lack of astrological disturbances will provide you with a pure snapshot of their energy.
Sunday, May 16th ~ Moon in Cancer all day, Mercury trine Sappho. The moon is in Cancer all day today. It is a really quiet day in the sky. Mercury trines asteroid Sappho, which is an excellent aspect for poets and other artistic folk. Inspiration comes filtered through the lens of the heart. Love and appreciation spark ideas and the need to create. It is a gentle day for admiring the flowers, watching the clouds, and bestowing care and attention on those around you.
