Monday, May 3rd ~ Today we have the moon in Aquarius all day, providing us with ample curiosity but a somewhat removed approach to the emotions. Mercury and Jupiter square this morning at 5:34am EST and the Sun squares Saturn in Aquarius at 6:01am EST. Restrictions come up which could lead us to feel rebellious. We look for ways to leap over barriers. It's possible we could be creating perceived limitations and exaggerating them through our own perception. Tonight Mercury enters Gemini at 10:49pm EST, where it will be until July 11th. This is a very lengthy stay for Mercury, who typically spends about three weeks in a sign. This is due to the upcoming retrograde in June. Mercury is in its domicile while in Gemini, and is free to express and communicate openly. If you'd like to dive deeper into this transit and see how your own natal Mercury will be impacted, you can listen to my newest Unclouded Eye podcast episode. Today we also have Uranus in trine to asteroid Eros, who rules over sex and sensuality. This can loosen inhibitions in these areas and allow for less restraint and self-consciousness.
Tuesday, May 4th ~ The moon is in Aquarius for the majority of the day. We are in touch with the higher mind, and may find ourselves more easily moved by concepts and large scale views of humanity than by individual plights. We have a void of course moon for a couple hours this evening, from 8:05pm until 10:09pm EST when it enters Pisces. This void is good for meditation or unplugging from the buzz of technology. Asteroid Eros enters its retrograde period today in the sign of Capricorn. This retrograde lasts until July 29th and brings the asteroid back into Sagittarius. As Eros rules over sex and desire, we could notice extremes in this area. For instance, some may feel particularly repressed while others feel abundantly free sexually but are judged by others or are hurtful in their expressions of these energies. Oftentimes the same people oscillate back and forth between these two states. You may not experience this in yourself but could see it reflected back in the lives of friends or repeated themes in media. Walking the line of balance is key, and with Eros in Capricorn this can be done through continued grounding and connecting to our sensuality in an earthy way.
Wednesday, May 5th ~ The moon is in Pisces all day, creating a dreamy overcast. Boundaries loosen and we feel our auric fields expand. It is easier to soak in the energy of those around us, so be mindful of who you surround yourself with. Carrying a stone like black tourmaline or labradorite is useful if you feel overwhelmed. Jupiter began a several day sextile to asteroid Ceres last night, and Neptune a square to Juno. The Jupiter/Ceres sextile is beautiful for opening up a connection with Mother Earth. We may feel called to explore the terrain of this planet by visiting new locales, or expand our perception and notice new things in our old, oft-trodden garden. The Neptune/Juno square opens up compassion between children and parents, particularly mothers or those tapped into the maternal vibe. There could be some intense emotions that pass here, but they are held in a container of love and nurturing. Any harder interactions pave the way for a renewed closeness.
Thursday, May 6th ~ We have the moon in Pisces all day today, a gentle sextile to the Taurean Sun. We could feel quite loving and empathetic. Venus and Pluto are in trine at 7:24am EST, bringing a strong desire for transformation through heightened relationships. We could feel called to work with another to invite in renewal and necessary change. Chiron sextiles the North Node at 1:30pm EST, which allows us to heal through taking the next step toward our fate. Inspired action could take you in a new direction today. We continue to feel blossoming love for Mother Earth thanks to the Jupiter/Ceres sextile, and for the more human idea of motherhood through the Neptune/Juno square. More on that in yesterday's forecast if you're curious.
Friday, May 7th ~ Today begins with the moon in Pisces. Dreams are likely to be lucid but filled with thick symbolism. The moon is void of course from 3:36am until 7:53am EST when it blazes into Aries. Suddenly our own emotions shift from a more collective interpretation to a very personal one. You could desire to get something off your chest. Our asteroid transits from the past two days continue. It's a good weekend for gardening and working with animals and plants. Saturn moves into a conjunction with asteroid Sappho, which could make us overthink projects. Remember to take a step back and rest. Sometimes the best ideas and solutions come when our brain is somewhere else in its focus.
Saturday, May 8th ~ The moon is in Aries all day. It's an energetic Saturday, with lots of fire and inspiration. Venus and Jupiter are in square at 9:37am EST, both at the 29th (anaretic) degree. This is wild and windy, and can make us anxious to step into the next phase. Relationships expand in intriguing ways, and we could desire to bring in more freedom and room to grow in shared creative projects. Venus moves into Gemini tonight at 10:00pm EST, where it will be until June 2nd. Communication and ideas prove to be the biggest attractors while Venus transits the sign of the twins. You may enjoy discussing and philosophizing with loved ones during this time. Venus in Gemini has a lot of energy to give, but can feel boxed in if it has to focus all of it one direction. Creativity flourishes if we allow ourselves multiple outlets to express it.
Sunday, May 9th ~ The moon is in Aries for most of the day. We could feel called toward movement, exercise, and spending time in nature. Asteroid Ceres enters Taurus today, which is a natural place for the ruler of plants, animals, and the energy field of Mother Earth. It will be here in Taurus until August 1st. We can more easily tap into this current of our home planet over the next few months and collectively work toward her healing. The power of thought and intention in this area is amplified now. Neptune and Juno continue their square, impacting the spiritual connection between children and mothers. How fitting that these transits take place on Mother's Day here in the US! The creative power of motherhood is felt in all its many forms today. The moon moves void of course for a short time from 6:50pm until 7:47pm EST when it enters Taurus. The evening has a more grounded feeling and allows us to slow down and rest.
