Monday, May 2nd ~ Today begins with the Taurus moon sextiling Jupiter at 3:24am and trining Pluto at 3:55am EST. We feel creatively inspired and find increased focus, provided we do not limit ourselves to one train of thought. It is easier to focus fully on something for a short burst and then move onto another thing, rather than get lost in a single project all day long. The moon sextiles Venus at 6:18am EST, encouraging teamwork and collaboration. Harmony in relationships is easier to come by, and we find ourselves naturally gravitating to those who make us feel more balanced. The moon is void of course for a very brief window from 6:19am until 6:51am EST when it enters Gemini. Once the moon is here, our brains are activated and we find ourselves getting excited about acquiring new information. The moon conjuncts Mercury in its home sign of Gemini at 11:08am EST, strengthening our desire to learn. This could be studious in nature or express itself as feeling curiosity about other people. Finally, Venus shifts into Aries at 12:04pm EST. Venus in Aries is passionate and direct. We leap into creative projects with vigor and could feel impatience at being slowed down in our work or in relationships. It's a good time to express your feelings for another in a blunt and clear manner. Subtleties are likely to be missed and will lead to confusion. Be open and upfront for the best results. Venus will be here in the sign of cardinal fire until May 28th.
Tuesday, May 3rd ~ The moon is in Gemini all day, allowing us to take a step back from heavy emotions and analyze them from a more objective standpoint. We could feel a bit scattered and enjoy multitasking more, jumping from one thing to another as our curiosity leads us. Jupiter and Pluto sextile each other at 9:33am EST, the big transit for the day. This has been felt all weekend and will continue to be palpable through the end of the week. This aspect is powerful and allows for immense transformation, should we be able to exercise a little faith and go with the flow. The sextile ensures harmony and balance, and enables us to follow our intuition toward positive change. One useful effect of this transit is increased ability to be decisive and ask for what we want, especially in the work environment. Go out for that raise or take a chance and start that new business! I dive into this transit deeper in my Stargazers Club (patreon) - link to join and listen is in bio. The moon goes on to square Mars at 10:47am EST, which can make us feel a bit impatient or grumpy. Take care of your needs; make sure you are eating enough and drinking water. It should subside a couple hours later, leading to a transit free evening.
Wednesday, May 4th ~ The day starts off with the moon in Gemini, trining Saturn at 8:52am and squaring Neptune at 9:16am EST. These are reality-based transits that force us to keep our feet on the ground and head out of the clouds. If you tend to be a more imaginative person, you may need to find ways to get present for the first half of the day. Mars sextiles Uranus at 1:43pm EST, though we feel its effects all day and even into tomorrow. This brings a strong urge for change, fun, and adventure. You may feel more impulsive and wish to seek out ways to break up a restrictive routine. Energy levels are higher as this aspect passes overhead. The moon squares Jupiter later on at 5:39pm before moving void of course for two and a half hours. We could be easily distracted and find it challenging to focus on emotions. Many will look for ways to keep busy and active during this time. The void period is good for play and light exercise. It ends at 8:06pm EST as the moon enters Cancer. In the sign of its domicile, we will likely feel more tender and romantic, perhaps even nostalgic for something from the past.
Thursday, May 5th ~ The moon is in poetic Cancer all day, casting a rosy and soft hue. It's a good day for writing down feelings or allowing yourself to express in artistic, sensitive ways. The moon squares Venus at 1:58am EST, suggesting some tension could arise in interpersonal relationships. Much of this is due to not saying what we mean; the moon in Cancer is not always direct and upfront, and Venus is currently in Aries, the most blunt of all the signs. Be clear with your intentions and much of this discomfort can be avoided. The Sun conjuncts Uranus in Taurus at 5:24am EST, though we feel this transit all day long. This shakes up stagnation and creates a desire to reinvent the self. You may be compelled to change your appearance, start a different job, or do something which alters the way you are perceived in the world. Don't be surprised if plans shift throughout the day. Remain open, curious, and ready for adventure.
Friday, May 6th ~ The moon is in gentle Cancer all day, beginning by sextiling Uranus at 2:17am EST. Ride the emotional wave and see where it leads you. Creative inspiration is likely as Mercury goes on to sextile Venus at 2:36am EST. Writers and artists of all type receive a boost, expressing their thoughts and feelings in a rainbow of color. The Sun sextiles the Moon and initiates its Waxing Crescent phase at 4:02am EST. We are officially out of the dark moon period, and the light from the Sun brings in a feeling of hope and optimism. The moon trines Mars at 4:34am EST, increasing energy and positivity. You may feel especially protective of loved ones. Later on, the moon trines Neptune at 10:09pm EST, which enhances imagination and intuition. It's a good night for spiritual practices such as meditation, ritual, and any soft, peaceful activities which allow us to express and flow with the evening's energies.
Saturday, May 7th ~ The Cancer moon opposes Pluto at 5:47am and trines Jupiter at 7:23am EST before moving void of course for about an hour. Responsibilities fall away and we seek out ways to hide out from any heavy burdens we've been carrying around. You might want to hole up with a loved one and focus on joyful, playful things. The moon's void ends at 8:46am EST when it enters Leo. We still feel that desire to be light and breezy, but could notice an added layer of wanting to express ourselves and connect with the inner child. The moon sextiles Mercury at 5:55pm EST, which could make many of us chatty and excitable. The moon trines Venus at 9:00pm EST; it's a good night for a date or going out with friends. We feel social and enjoy dressing up under these particular celestial conditions.
Sunday, May 8th ~ The moon is in Leo all day, enhancing our desire to be seen and to show off our loved ones out in the world. The moon squares Uranus at 2:42pm EST, which could lead to volatile emotions or a sudden outburst. This is more likely if you've been bottling things up. Write down thoughts and feelings or talk them over with someone in the hours leading up to this to avoid the drama. The Sun and Moon square at 9:20pm EST, and the moon enters its First Quarter phase. This phase is a catalyst and creates friction in the air which spurs us on to action. You could notice impatience creeping in, and a strong sensation of stubbornness. Being told what to do or feeling like your freedom is being encroached upon will be especially irritating. The good news is this transit can lead to positive change by helping us identify what we don't want. Use it as a springboard to travel in a new direction.
