Weekly Forecast: 5/1/23 through 5/7/23

Monday, May 1st ~ Blessed Beltane! Today we have the moon in grounded, earthy Virgo all day, inviting us to feel the dirt and grass below our feet. Envision roots growing deep into the earth and allow these to bring balance. The day starts with the moon trining Uranus at 3:38am and sextiling Mars at 5:08am EST. Our energy is up and we feel wild-eyed and curious as we investigate the world around us. We will want to touch things and experience them on our own rather than simply reading about them or daydreaming. Pluto stations retrograde at 0 degrees Aquarius at 1:08pm EST. On June 11th, Pluto will dip back into Capricorn, but for now we experience a month and a half of a retrograde Aquarian Pluto. This reminds us to look back into history and dig up the shadow experiences that brought us to where we are now. We may see more reminders of past events involving large groups of people, and from this many will experience greater compassion. In our personal lives, we can use this time to experience our own shadow and transform some aspect of self which requires acceptance and nurturing. The moon goes on to square Venus at 1:31pm EST, which suggests we will need more solitary time to digest shifts in energy. The Sun conjuncts Mercury at 7:27pm EST, a magical transit that connects our minds with the higher energy of the Sun. We may receive sudden insights, ideas, or communications from others which expand our worldview. This is an interior conjunction, meaning Mercury is retrograde and is passing between the Earth and the Sun. This allows us to break through the fog surrounding this retrograde for a few hours and understand something on a deeper level. The day ends with the moon opposing Neptune at 7:52pm EST and then moving void of course for about six hours. We seek out real, tangible things during this time and will need to experience them with our own eyes. We may resent more abstract ideas and prefer to lean into logic and hard truths.

Tuesday, May 2nd ~ Today is quiet celestially, allowing a bit of a breather. The moon is void of course until 2:08am EST when it moves into Libra. When the moon is in Libra, we feel more social and curious about the world around us. It is a bit like a butterfly dancing around from flower to flower, as we in turn flit around to find beauty and inspiration. The moon trines Pluto at 2:51am EST, the only major transit of the day. This allows us to invite in personal growth and change. Through dealing with something head on and leading with courage, we are able to transcend personal pain and trauma. The rest of the day is ideal for looking at our own transits and connecting in to the unique blueprint of your astrological chart.

Wednesday, May 3rd ~ Today the moon is in Libra all day, bringing a need for harmony and balance. If you are around too much of one kind of energy, you may need to swing things the other way to invite in more of a level energetic playground. The moon opposes Chiron at 11:19am EST, which can exaggerate feelings of avoidance when it comes to dealing with an issue with another person. We may try to ignore these things rather than tackling them straight away. It's not the best day for this anyway, but don't leave people hanging. Instead, tell them you'll get back to them soon. The moon squares Mars at 5:10pm EST which can emphasize frustrations and annoyances. You may have more energy to burn, and will require some kind of physical release.

Thursday, May 4th ~ Today begins with the Libra moon trining Venus at 3:54am and opposing Jupiter at 5:16am EST before moving void of course for just over five hours. This is a more social day that brings a need for contact with others, especially laughter and light banter. We may feel more silly and excitable as we interact with those around us. The moon's void period ends at 10:32am EST as it moves into Scorpio. We are approaching tomorrow's Full Moon / Lunar Eclipse, so are apt to feel the build up in energy and intensity. The moon squares Pluto at 11:12am EST, which can cause some resistance to change and can cause us to cling tight to the past and all that is familiar. Venus squares Neptune at 1:40pm EST, a transit we feel all day long. This enhances imagination and makes it easier to be idealistic, but we may be more absorbent of others' emotions and vibrations. Be aware of who you are spending time with today. The moon conjuncts its South Node at 5:56pm EST, meaning it is as close to the Earth as it ever gets. This links intuition to the past, making it easy to uncover memories and feel a growing sense of nostalgia. Finally, the moon trines Saturn at 8:53pm EST which allows us to step up and handle something with grace and ease should we lean into it. It might turn out this task is much easier to tackle than you initially thought.

Friday, May 5th ~ The moon is in deep, watery Scorpio all day, building toward fullness. We kick things off with a sextile between Venus and Jupiter at 12:02am EST, palpable all day long. This transit is extremely pleasant and positive, inviting us to see the possibilities inherent in our relationships. We are likely to be more creatively inspired and will seek out the beauty around us as we move through our day. The moon opposes retrograde Mercury at 3:15am EST which can cause us to feel tongue-tied or a bit unsure of how to convey our emotions. The Full Moon in Scorpio hits at 1:34pm EST, accompanied by a Penumbral Lunar Eclipse, visible in Africa, Asia, and Australia. A full moon in Scorpio is always intense, and brings with it big feelings and a lot of potential for magical happenings. The veil thins, our intuition deepens, and we seek out ways to connect more deeply with those around us. A penumbral Lunar Eclipse means the Sun, Earth, and moon are not perfectly aligned and so we don't get a full eclipse of shadow on the moon's surface. This suggests we lean into imperfections ourselves. We seek to hide out or keep part of ourselves hidden, but maybe we won't be able to. We will need to embrace something in the self, and by doing so, we can inspire others to do the same. Self love is a big theme for this eclipse. The moon opposes Uranus to end the day at 8:13pm EST, inviting in change and major shifts in emotion. We shake things up in our feelings and could be surprised by the change of heart we have as a result.

Saturday, May 6th ~ Today starts with the Scorpio moon trining Mars at 1:50am EST, inviting us to feel the power within us. This is warrior energy, the union of a Scorpio moon with Mars fire. Strength and courage carry us far today. The moon trines Neptune at 10:37am EST and then moves void of course for about five and a half hours. This opens up the floodgates of the imagination and brings an influx of poetic and artistic ideas to the forefront. We feel more flowy and in tune with the vibration of all living things. The void allows us to ride this feeling like a wave. The moon's void ends as it enters Sagittarius at 4:03pm EST, a very different energy but with a philosophical bent much the same. Here we feel curiosity about our surroundings and decide to dive into exploring them rather than pondering from a distance. The moon sextiles Pluto at 4:41pm EST which allows us to investigate emotions and embrace them rather than running from them.

Sunday, May 7th ~ The moon is in comedic, active Sagittarius all day, bringing a need for fun and variety. The moon squares Saturn at 2:12am EST; we seek out ways to brush off responsibilities and prefer to enjoy ourselves. It can be challenging to focus on work today. Venus enters Cancer at 10:24am EST, where it will be until June 5th. Venus in Cancer is relationship focused, bringing a need to nurture and dote upon those we love. Feelings are deep and complicated, and easily wounded. Those with Venus in water signs (Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces) and earth signs Taurus and Virgo really enjoy this time and find it compatible with the way they love. Those with Venus in air and fire signs or the sign of Capricorn may find others too sensitive and emotional during the next month. More care should be taken to avoid hurt feelings. Finally, the moon trines Chiron at 10:36pm EST. This is a great healing aspect that brings relief through travel, or trying something new.
