Weekly Forecast: 5/8/23 through 5/14/23

Monday, May 8th ~ Today begins slowly, with the powerful, passionate Sagittarius moon only making its first planetary contact at 2:22pm EST, when it squares Neptune. We become a bit spacey under this aspect, with head in the clouds but with all the vigor for exploration that Sagittarius brings. Try to bring some observation in for balance. The moon trines Jupiter at 4:27pm EST which enhances excitement and exuberance. We are more energetic and curious about the world at large. The moon moves void of course from 4:28pm until it enters Capricorn at 7:32pm EST. This brings in a steadying effect which allows us to examine our ambitions with more focus. The moon opposes Venus at 10:19pm EST, suggesting need for solitary time away from others. We could feel somewhat self conscious and prefer to be alone with our thoughts and ideas.

Tuesday, May 9th ~ The moon is in Capricorn all day, gradually declining in light as we move further from last Friday's Full Moon. The moon trines its North Node at 2:17am and sextiles Saturn at 5:38am EST. These transits kick off the day with an empowering vibe. We can channel 'boss' energy and tackle responsibilities with more vigor and pizzazz. The moon trines retrograde Mercury at 7:27am EST, introducing an ability to read between the lines and communicate more effectively. The Sun conjuncts Uranus in Taurus at 3:55pm EST, a transit we notice all day long. This allows us to embrace our uniqueness and lean into all things weird. Some may enjoy dressing more colorfully or in dramatic fashions today, while others will rely on shock value to shake up situations around them. Regardless of how we express this desire for differentiation, we can count on not being able to predict anyone's behavior today.

Wednesday, May 10th ~ Today the moon is extremely active, making eight transits over the course of the day. We start with it in Capricorn, squaring Chiron at 1:35am and trining Uranus at 3:32am EST. We seek out new and unusual ways to deal with mental duress and interpersonal problems. It could be difficult to be vulnerable under these skies. The moon reaches its Waning Gibbous phase at 4:19am EST, trining the Sun. With both luminaries in cardinal signs, the energy spells out creation. We seek ways to create and build new ideas, systems, and implement change in our own lives. The moon opposes Mars at 12:38pm and later sextiles Neptune at 5:03pm EST. Frustrations mount; we may be more touchy around this time. It can be challenging to handle things logically and rationally. The moon squares Jupiter at 7:52pm and moves void of course until 10:05pm EST when it ingresses Aquarius. Distractions enter our space easily and we may get lost in the ether of our daydreams. The moon conjuncts Pluto at 10:39pm EST to close out its busy cosmic day. This allows for more distance from emotions and the ability to transmute them from seeing them in a new light.

Thursday, May 11th ~ Today is the first of two full days with the moon in airy, utopian Aquarius. This introduces more creativity and allows us to question things rather than take them at face value. Venus sextiles the North Node at 12:50am EST, a transit we feel for much of the day. Here we are drawn to those people who can help us move to the next phase of our lives. We may notice further shifts in relationships as those whose paths are diverging fall away quite suddenly. Others who can help us on our current mission will be drawn to us magnetically. The moon squares its Nodes at 4:41am and squares Mercury at 8:45am EST to close out the day's major transits. Confusion enters in; it is best to go with the flow and take things one step at a time rather than trying to plan things out all at once. Talking about feelings with others can further muddy the waters. A lot is shifting today and needs the space to do so. Clinging tight only prolongs the inevitable and necessary process.

Friday, May 12th ~ It's another full day with the moon in the sign of Aquarius, the water bearer who is the sign of fixed air. Fixed air means total immersion in ideas and some stubbornness when it comes to changing your mind unless self-initiated. The moon sextiles Chiron at 4:13am EST which brings some healing conversations today. Mercury sextiles Saturn at 4:41am EST; Mercury is on the last three days of its retrograde, and this transit allows for a difficult conversation to happen with more ease than it has been able to over the past few weeks. The moon squares Uranus at 6:12am and then enters its Last Quarter phase at 10:28am EST. We may seek out unusual ways of doing things just to be different. Keep your mind open to ideas from others. You never know what could inspire you if you allow it to enter in. Mercury sextiles Venus at 10:43pm EST, bringing harmony and peace in relationships. It is an excellent day for communication and for remaining open minded as we converse with others. The moon sextiles Jupiter at 11:15pm EST and then moves void of course for just over an hour. Hope swells over us and brings increased curiosity and ability to glimpse possibilities.

Saturday, May 13th ~ The moon slips into Pisces at 12:38am EST, waning in light in the whimsical sign of the fish. Pisces moons are always sensitive, emotional, and intuitive. Venus trines Saturn at 2:56am EST, though this transit casts a light over the whole day. Relationships mature and bloom. We step up to care for someone else, or maybe they do this for us. This also allows for foundations to be built for creative projects, allowing them to be more long lasting. The moon sextiles its North Node at 7:18am and sextiles Mercury at 10:43am EST. This is the last full day of Mercury retrograde, and brings with it a final push for slowing down the mind and thoughts and drifting into daydreams. The moon conjuncts Saturn at 11:11am and trines Venus at 11:50am EST, the final major transits of the day. As the moon enters into the fold of the Venus/Saturn trine, we feel a swell of love and devotion for a partner, family member, or dear friend.

Sunday, May 14th ~ The moon is in dreamy Pisces all day, ideal for poets, artists, and musicians. It sextiles Uranus at 9:21am, which allows us to move through emotions quickly and not get too attached to modes of being. The moon enters its Waning Crescent phase at 5:16pm EST, allowing for a more reflective, quiet evening. We could need more time alone to recharge. The moon trines Mars at 10:30pm and conjuncts Neptune at 10:56pm EST. These transits bring fire and passion, and a need to merge with another person deeply. We will long for more intimacy and depth. Mercury retrograde ends at 11:16pm EST, with Mercury at 5 degrees Taurus. This brings more clarity and insight, and allows for less confusing communication as we interact with others.
