Weekly Forecast: 7/17/23 through 7/23/23

Monday, July 17th ~ Today is one of the most active astrological days of the whole year. We have a couple major shifts occurring! The moon is at home in Cancer all day, providing us an emotional current that allows for deep compassion and intuitive understanding. The moon squares Chiron at 4:35am EST, allowing us to overcome past emotional pain by letting ourselves experience it rather than running from it. Mercury squares Jupiter at 8:48am EST, a transit we feel all day long. This can make us more scattered, extra talkative, and unfocused. It could feel like your mind is moving a mile a minute and any attempts to hone in on one thing will be unsuccessful. The moon sextiles Uranus at 9:21am EST, which allows for added insight and an ability to see the big picture. So, while we may be all over the place, this does bring some increased understanding. The New Moon in Cancer perfects at 2:31pm EST, at the 24th degree of Cancer. This is a deeply personal moon, that invites us to spend time on our own to understand our emotional world better. We are called to engage with memory so we can free ourselves from past shackles, or from nostalgia that is more binding than inspiring. This is in the third decan of Cancer, ruled by Neptune, suggesting this is a deeply spiritual and intuitive New Moon. It is a time to shed heavy emotions and move them out of the body and auric field. One of the biggest transits of the year occurs at 3:59pm EST as the North Node moves into Aries and the South Node moves into Libra. The Nodes of the moon are points on its orbit, the furthest and closest points to Earth, respectively. This is significant because these points only change signs every 18 months or so. The North Node in Aries calls us to follow our own path and be independent in our decision making. Choose yourself first during this time. The Libra South Node reminds us to move away from people pleasing tendencies; don't be afraid to use your voice and speak up! Tonight, the moon trines Neptune at 7:52pm and opposes Pluto at 11:05pm EST before moving void of course until early tomorrow morning. We are in touch with subtle energies and can easily feel shifts around us. We might need more freedom and room to breathe, away from distracting or overwhelming influences.

Tuesday, July 18th ~ Today is a much quieter and simpler day astrologically, a nice breath of fresh air after yesterday's intensity. The moon squares both its North and South nodes at 12:29am EST, which can create some emotional stubbornness than we notice throughout the day. Be open to changing your mind and see what shifts come about. The moon's void ends as it enters Leo at 12:39am EST. Days with the moon in Leo are vibrant, bold, and require us to express ourselves outwardly. Let your star shine! It is a wonderful day to give gifts and shower our loved ones with affection and praise. The rest of the day is free from any major transits, allowing for some peace from celestial interference.

Wednesday, July 19th ~ The moon is in colorful, dramatic Leo all day, making for big emotions and creative ideas. This Leo moon squares Jupiter at 1:02am and later conjuncts Mercury at 7:22am EST. Channels of communication open. It's a good day to express thoughts to others, as we are more likely to be clear and passionate in our wording, and others resonate with our intensity. The moon goes on to trine Chiron at 4:51pm and square Uranus at 9:51pm EST. Healing comes through being unashamed to be ourselves in the world. It is possible to shed a narrative around people pleasing, or obscuring who you are to fit in. The square to Uranus can cause some rapid shifts in mood, but ultimately allows us to work through emotional issues and come out the other side feeling more centered.

Thursday, July 20th ~ Today the Cancer Sun trines Neptune in Pisces at 9:06am EST, a transit that resonates all day long. This is a highly compassionate, open-hearted aspect that erases boundaries between self and others and allows us to be softer and kinder in our presentation. We may also be more connected to our spiritual self, and channel in creativity from higher realms. The moon conjuncts Venus at 10:08am EST and then moves void of course for about three hours. Relationships shine today, and we seek out close and harmony-driven connections from loved ones in both romantic and platonic forms. The moon trines the North Node at 11:59am EST, which allows for progress to be made in pushing out of your comfort zone and trying something new. The moon's void brings a peaceful reverie in the middle of the day. Take a long break, nap a little, or meditate. This void ends at 1:12pm EST as the moon enters Virgo. This is a more detail oriented moon that draws our attention to more focused work. Mars opposes Saturn at 4:39pm EST, a transit we may have noticed building over the last few days and will continue to feel through the weekend. This is an intense transit that can activate a need for power through any means necessary. Some will be willing to put aside morals in order to go after their goals. There is also a lack of self-discipline and willpower in place, making it challenging to maintain a patient and persistent work ethic this week. Be sure to take a step back and breathe if you notice you are going all in to something without regards for others.

Friday, July 21st ~ The moon is in earthy, humble Virgo all day, drawing our attention to what in our immediate environment needs improvement. We may be called to cleanse our space both physically and energetically. The moon opposes Saturn at 2:02am and conjuncts Mars at 2:35am EST. As Mars and Saturn are still in opposition, we could feel a need to control the situations around us in order to assert power and maintain autonomy. Some will go too far with this and could end up hurting those around them. Check yourself and don't be afraid to take a step back for some deep breathing if you notice yourself slipping into this energy. The moon trines Jupiter at 2:30pm EST which helps to lift spirits and bring in more playful optimism. The Sun opposes Pluto at 11:52pm EST, a transit which happens once per year. We tend to be more assertive and stubborn during this aspect, and enjoy finding challenges to overcome. At times we may create problems just because the feeling of working through them is so addictive. The Sun is sitting at 29 degrees Cancer while Pluto is at 29 degrees Capricorn, adding to the intensity. The astrology today is a little sticky; it is a good idea to meditate and take quiet time to disengage and not get too power hungry.

Saturday, July 22nd ~ Happy Leo Season! The moon is in Virgo all day, adding a gentle stability and need to put our feet in the grass and connect with the Earth. The Sun squares the Nodes of the moon today at 1:13am EST; these Nodes changed signs earlier this week and this is one of the first planetary transits to them in their new place. We could notice a sense of urgency today. This intense feeling that we should act NOW is really just a feeling, and not a hard and fast reality. It can be helpful to force ourselves to wait and see if the desire is still as strong in a few hours. Mercury trines Chiron today, palpable all day but exact at 2:57am EST. This allows for deep, profound healing to come through talking about our feelings and moving through them by sharing ideas with others. Fears around speaking up, being heard, and being misunderstood are all dealt with today. The moon trines Uranus at 10:48am and opposes Neptune later tonight at 8:59pm EST. Ideas come rapidly, and we may prefer to deal with facts rather than theories. Venus retrograde begins at 9:32pm EST, and the planet of love and beauty will be sailing back through the sign of Leo until September 3rd. The last Venus retrograde took place in December 2021 to January 2022. Think back to that time in your life to see what romantic shifts took place. During Venus Rx, we work through past relationships and friendships to heal and either move on completely or return to explore unfinished business. We may also explore old creative projects and tie up loose ends. Since this Venus retrograde is in Leo, its themes will include inner child work and increasing feelings of self worth. More on this time in my astrology video for this week. The Sun enters Leo at 9:50pm EST and Leo season is officially underway. The time of fixed fire is hot, bold, and colorful. It's an idea time to create, express, and know you're worth it!

Sunday, July 23rd ~ Today begins with the Virgo moon trining Pluto at 12:05am EST and then  moving void of course for just under two hours. We may have lucid dreams overnight or remember small details from the dream world. Pluto squares the Nodes of the moon at 12:32am EST, a huge transit that we are going to feel for the next couple of weeks. It has been building up throughout the last week, intensifying our need for transformation at any cost. We want change to come, but we may be experiencing some fears that keep us frozen and worried to proceed. This transit can definitely activate fears and phobias, but it serves to bring them to the surface so that we can understand exactly what has been holding us back from living a happier life. We will continue to check in with this transit over the next couple of weeks. The moon's void ends as it enters Libra at 1:54am EST, introducing a more social energy for the day. The moon enters its Waxing Crescent phase at 2:15am EST, which also encourages us to spend time with others and break up monotony in our routine. Chiron retrograde begins at 8:42am EST, lasting until December 26th. Retrograde in the sign of Aries, Chiron encourages us to examine the past so that we may become more present. The next five months we explore times in the past where we went along with others to keep the peace or try to fit in, where we hid our uniqueness in the comfort of a group, or where we shrunk when we really wished to grow and flourish and be seen. This is a big theme of the year in general. As we work through these painful memories, we heal them and move through self-consciousness to become more sure of ourselves. Mercury squares Uranus to close this very busy week, exact at 5:39pm EST. Anticipation and excitement grow with this transit, but it can amplify nerves and anxiety, or that butterflies-in-stomach feeling. This can make it difficult to relax or get off to sleep. We may receive unexpected news or have a revelation. It's a good idea to quiet the mind through a guided meditation or getting excess energy out through exercise.
