February 19 - 25

 

Monday, February 19th ~ On Monday, February 19th, Chiron moves into conjunction with the North Node of the Moon at 4:12pm EST. This is one of the strongest transits of the year, and is something we have felt building on a subtle level for the past week or two. It will be intense through the next several days and we will continue to feel its influence dispersing through the end of the month. Chiron is the planetoid that is represented by the wounded healer archetype, and here in Aries has collectively called us to heal our insecurity by stepping out into the world and making who we are known in a more public way. As Chiron joins with the North Node (which is the furthest point from Earth on the moon's orbit), a metaphorical gateway opens up. We may reach a breaking point, or have a dramatic catalyst occur. Some will feel at the end of their rope. The purpose of this intense burst of emotion is to reset the mind and get us to take impulsive action that leads us closer to the life we want to live. Gone are the days of people pleasing, or shrinking who we are to fit in with those around us. That is not helpful to you or anyone in your life. It may temporarily keep the peace, but doesn't allow for growth for any parties involved. 

Thursday, February 22nd ~ Venus and Mars conjunct in Aquarius today, February 22nd, at 2:14am EST. This is a powerful conjunction that unites the more yin energy of Venus with the more yang energy of Mars. Venus is receptive and flowery, while Mars is dynamic and fiery. The melding of these two is helpful in balancing out emotional and physical responses. As the planets are in Aquarius, we can find ourselves falling in love with the ideas and mental landscape of another person. We may be more compelled to take action when it comes to creativity and artistic ideas. Stimulation is a key word for this transit; we are stimulated creatively, passionately, and sensually. We could be more impulsive in our work or in relationships today.

Friday, February 23rd ~ On Friday, February 23rd, Mercury enters the sign of Pisces at 2:28am EST. Mercury will be here in the sign of mutable water until March 9th. Mercury in Pisces is whimsical, imaginative, and prefers to communicate through subtle body language and intention. While Mercury is in its fall in this placement and can't operate at full capacity, there are some great benefits. It is wonderful for coming up with dreamy concepts, writing fantasy stories, poetry, and art, and allowing for a more open-minded, non-judgmental approach. Logical, orderly thinking is a bit more difficult here. This is a more childlike, idealistic placement for Mercury and is extremely fluid. The brain link here is almost telepathic in its approach. Those with natal Mercury in water signs (Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces) and earth signs Taurus and Capricorn are able to work with this energy the easiest.

Saturday, February 24th ~ We have the Full Moon in Virgo happening at 7:30am EST on Saturday, February 24th. This is a deep full moon that connects us to the energy of Mother Earth. We benefit from getting outside today and grounding into the earth. Other ways to work with the Virgo moon include tending to houseplants, gardening or planning a garden, planting a tree, looking at birds and other animals in their natural habitat, or getting a new crystal / mineral. We are able to manifest changes relating to health and the physical body today, and can feel the close link and interplay between the body and the Earth from which it came. Later tonight, Venus squares Jupiter at 11:01pm EST, and we feel this building as the Full Moon perfects. This can bring in some more optimism and playfulness, but is not great for buckling down and focusing. We may not be in the mood for too much work or refinement. Don't force yourself to do the kind of heavy organization that Virgo moons often initiate, unless it feels especially fun for you. It is more important to keep spirits high and honor the Earth through recognizing the unbreakable connection there. We need the Earth to survive, and whatever tools we require have been provided by the bounty of the planet. Make this an earthy Full Moon that holds that sacred unity in mind.
